015 - Arrows and Outrage

Fourteen bowstrings pinged with high-pitched pops of released tension, and fourteen crudley-flying arrows siled threw the air towards where Snorri fought the five surviving goblins. Snorri rolled to the ground instinctively, putting the goblins between himself and the whistling of the arrows. The goblins weren't so quick to react. Screaches and a curse rang out from them as three or the remaing for sheilds clattered to the floor, the beaerers collapsing in pain. “YOU SHOT AT ME!” Yelled the remaining spearmen at the archers in fury. The remaining sheild bear allowed its large sheild to drop away, chosing instead to dive for a spear left by one of its fallen comrades. Snorri threw the sword. The goblin never reached the spear. “YOUR BOYS ARE DEAD, KEZZA." Scar Black’s evil, rumbling goblish tone “EITHER YOU STICK IT OUT NOW OR ILL GIVE THE ORDER TO FIRE AGAIN!” The goblin leader screamed at the remaining spearmen.

Snorri pulled the arracop back towards him, catching the sword hilt in a to-handed grib as Kezza’s eyes narrowed on him. The goblin blurred towards him in a flurring of well-aimed stabs. Snorri parried each of the five blows with his sword, flinging his tiny gnomish body from the air to bend his leg clear of the last he came rolling to his feet. Snorri pressed forward. sending a well-aimed slash towards the goblin’s shoulder. Arracop’s blade blashed against the spear’s shaft, sending sparks flying at the goblin. Snorri only now realised that this spear, unlike the others, was fully made from the crudley-forged goblin metal. The spearmen thrust the shaft of the spear forward at Snorri as the gnome closed the distance between the two of them. Snorri was once again forced back.

The gnome threw his sword towards the goblin's head as he dove wide to avoid the tip of the spear plunging into his upper leg. Arracop sank into Kezza’s right shoulder. The goblin screamed in pain and frustration as Snorri pulled the chain and caugh the sword as it sailed back and threw the air towards him. Kezza I stabbed the gnome with a shakey left-handed grip. Snorri easily parried the blow. The gnome charged the short distance between the two of them, and as he rammed his shoulder into the spear's shaft, he drove deep into the goblin's stomach and deep into the creature's ribcage. As life left Kezza’s wide eyes, A deep goblin voice from the rear of the tunnel shouted. “FIRE!”

Fourteen pings rang out again from the cavern’s rear wall. Snorri felt six dull impacts on Kezza’s freshly dead corpse. A seventh impact sent a surge of white-hot pain through his left leg. Snorri instinctively Rolled to the left, letting the goblin's heavy body crumple to the ground and throwing himself behind an upturned table. "Fire!” screamed the goblin. Another eight or so arrows buried themselves in the thick wood of the table. Snorri looked down at his left leg. A crudley-flitched goblin arrow was buried an inch or so into his shin. Snorri gritted his teeth. He tore a long piece of fabric from his heavily tattered robes. "Fire!” the goblin screamed again and again. fourteen bows pinged and fourteen goblish arrows sailed through the air. Several more splintering sounds rang out as a number of them buried themselves into the table.

Snorri reached forward. Clasping the arro shaft with both hands, he let out a number of gnomish swearwords as he pulled the arrow’s nasty pointed tip free of his flesh. Crimson blood bubbled from the hole it left. Snorri quickly bandaged the wound, trying his best to stem the bleeding. "Fire!” screamed the goblin from beyond his hiding place. The bowstring twanged. This time, after serval impacts, Snorri dared to poke his head out of his hiding place. two groups of seven goblin arches where bunches in clusters on either side of the room. “FIRE!” screamed a large goblin in a large full-face metal helm who stood between and somehow behind the two groups of archers. Snorri dove backwards as several arrows were sailing towards him. Snorri came to a low crouch and waited patiently.

“Fire” came the goblins voice now with a familiar rhythm. This time, Snorri was able to hear the arrows as they wizzed through the air. As soon as the last of them had hit it, the little gnome sprung from his hiding place. The Gnome He threw his sword towards the closest group of goblin archers. catching the closest completely off guard and through the small unit of seven goblins into total chaos as the goblin was thrown off its feet. Arracop’s blade is embedded in its chest. Before the archers had time to recover, Snorri was among them. Pulling his blade free of the now-dead goblin's chest and exsploding among the group with a flurry of strikes. As the six archers crumpled around him, Snorri heard the helmeted goblin scream “Fire” in a slightly more panicked voice.

Seven goblin arrows came flying towards Snorri. The gnome flung himself to the floor among the goblins. the arrows sailing over his head, but he was already moving. Springing to his feet like a cat, he sprinted across the corridor past the helmeted goblin. Charging directly towards the hastily reloading archers. Only one of them was quick enough to draw his bow in time. Snorri sent Arracop’s Blade sailing at the goblin. As the thing rose, it bowed to aim. Arracop’s blade plunged into the creature's left eye, and suddenly Snorri was among them.

Snorri dispatched three of the remaining goblins with quick conspicuous blows before the remaining trio, having seemingly dropped their bows, flung their entire bodies towards him. Snorri impaled the first. The two others started to rain down powerful punches on the gnomes faces.Snorri staggered backward with the blows. Arracop was pulled free with the gnomes momentum, and as he collapsing beneath the onsluaght of goblish punches, it somehow found its way back in his snorris hand as he collapsed to the floor. With a gnomish roar, Snorri swung the sword at the large goblin. As the beast raised its hand, balled its fists, and let out shrieks of rage, Snorri buried the snowrd's wickedly sharp blade into the goblin's ribs. The remaining goblin turned to run as Snorri pushed himself up to his feet. He sent the arracop sailing and threw the air to end all chances of the archer somehow regaining his bow.

As the final of his troops fell to the ground in front of him, Scarblack’s eyes narrowed with rage. If you want something done, he thought to himself. Do it yourself.
