Chapter 4

Coldfusion’s army began the assault on the SVCA’s regional headquarters. Freezerburn had specific orders on how to break in and get there master free. The first part of the plan was locating Coldfusion. Second, was taking out the main power supply and backup generators, as well as communications. Third was to break out any henchmen or villains at the facility. Freezerburn had experience with attacking fortifications. Any distraction would help. His final command was destroying any and everything.

Coldfusion’s army of henchmen ascended upon the base. They started to begin looking for Coldfusion. One of the henchmen found where Coldfusion was being held. They called out to Freezerburn giving him the location of where Coldfusion was being held. He told Freezerburn he was being held in the brain abstractor.

Freezerburn gave the order to pull out an EMP radar truck that would shut down all electric devices on the base. They needed to make sure no communications could be sent out for help. They wanted to shut off all the power around the base so nothing could operate. The main worry would be the alert system warning of an invasion. The alert system could tell the base how many enemies were around, as well as locations.

Freezerburn gave the order to blast the solar plant on base first. As the solar plant got hit power to the base began to shut off. The lights went first, then the alert system, then communications. Then he told them to direct the radar at the base, so the backup generators would go down. They had only about a minute or so before the generators came on. Another beam was fired at the base. All the generators began to fail. The whole base was dark and quiet.

Frezerburn personally attacked the building housing henchman and villains that had committed lower crimes. Without power the building was easily overtaken. Soon the prisoners began to riot as they caused more chaos. Some joined Freezerburn, while others made a break for it. The army was now at around sixty strong as they made their way for Coldfusion.

Freezerburn then gave the order to storm the main facilities. The henchmen all activated there night vision goggles as they entered different facilities to cause havoc. With no defenses and no power, the whole base was easy to destroy. It was just like shooting fish in a barrel. The army broke off into several units.

One unit oversaw the destruction of the solar plant, so electricity couldn’t ever be restored. Within about half an hour the solar plant was nothing more than flaming piles of metal and debris.

Another unit oversaw securing the borders to the base. They had the job of spying for any backup or help. They also were the first line of defense for defending the base attack from the outside. The next unit had the task of destroying the alert system.

The remaining units were tasked with destroying the weapon defense system. This included defensive weapons for the base. Such as vehicles, sensors, lasers, etc. Taking out the electric supply in the base, including backup generators and lights.

Pyromelter was confused to what just had happened first the power went out. Then the building began to shake following the sound of explosions. Mr. Flinch started barking orders to secure the room. Since there was no power it made it difficult to do things. One guard was able to find a box of emergency flashlights. Unfortunately, the batteries had died due to the EMP wave that hit the base.

Mr Flinch swore in frustration. With no power the only useful things that could be used were the guns the agents had. Since there was no power shooting in the dark would be suicidal. Agents could hit each other by accident. About an hour had passed of complete silence hoping the power would come back on.

The silence was broken by yelling and fighting outside the door of the brain abstractor. Without warning the vault door was blown inward. Some agents taking guard up against were crushed when it fell over. The unit sent to get Coldfusion burst into the room and the place began to light up with a hailstorm of bullets.

The leader of the unit Freezerburn quickly told the henchmen to stop shooting, when he saw Mr Flinch running up with a gun to Pyromelter’s head. “Good”, Mr. Flinch said. Mr. Flinch was about to pull the trigger when Freezerburn took a wild shot at Mr. Flinch. The gun was blown out of his hand and fired up at the ceiling. The gun firing a huge round that hit a light fixture which then fell on Mr. Flinch. The light hit Mr. Flinch knocking him out cold.

The fighting continued again, with every agent getting taken down. After all was done, the henchmen grabbed Pyromelter and fled. Before Freezerburn left he grabbed a copy of all the data of every villain and hero in the system at the base. The data was the only thing that was protected against EMP style attacks.

Outside the base, Freezerburn gave the order to use a absolute zero freezer bomb. The shell was fired onto the base turning it into a huge iceberg. Then Freezeburn fired a shot and the base shattered and exploded into a huge icy-blue mushroom cloud…
