A few minutes later. Both brothers finished their meal in an uneasy silence. After paying, they stood to leave the restaurant.
“Hope to see you boys again,” the waitress called out as they neared the exit.
Xavier nodded politely, but Klaus, grinning, muttered. “Hopefully, our next visit will be just as eventful.” He nudged Xavier, who gave him a tired look, catching the wink his brother threw his way.
Once they arrived at the Azure Hotel, Klaus made a beeline for the bed, not bothering to hide his smirk as he stretched out, clearly indulging in whatever thoughts filled his head.
Xavier, meanwhile, resumed his research. He wasn't just focused on their current supernatural case: he scoured the pages of his father's old journal, sifting through forgotten lore on supernatural creatures that prowled on the edges of human understanding.
A sigh escaped his lips, memories of his previous life as a struggling author creeping in. Ife, his girlfriend lingered in his mind like a shadow. An endless shadow. He couldn't remember her face clearly, but the ache of her absence gnawed at him.
Some things, he realized, were better left buried. But that didn't make the sting of the past any easier to bear. If nothing, it only worsened it.
And the memories surrounding his sealed memories didn't make things any better.
Although he really wished to know everything. The feeling of knowing something yet not being able to hold on to it truly disturbed him in an unsettling manner.
But remerbing what had caused the death of the previous Xavier. He could only accept defeat.
Hopefully, it has some requirements for its unsealing... That's without killing me in the process.
As a keyboard warrior in his previous life. He knew that apart from being strong, all-powerful, or omnipotent. The best thing one could possibly ever ask for is… knowledge.
Yes. Knowledge! With knowledge, one could do anything. One could bring down the stars, grab the moon, and even figure out the intricate secrets of the past epochs and long-lost secrets of the eras before the current dark era.
With knowledge…anything is possible. He couldn't really understand his strange urge for knowledge. Yet, he somehow loved, adored, and cherished it.
He knew being all-knowing is the same as having the world revolving around one's palm. Yet, he also knew that in such a world where logic and theoretical sense of reasoning are most consistent. Having such kind of knowledge seems… impossible to say the least.
Still, that doesn't mean that he wouldn't amass enough knowledge to ensure his and his brother's safety.
Sighing in exasperation.
His fingers moved across the Keyboard; the unfathomable mystery behind its creation lingering in his mind. The rhythmic tapping blended with the low hum of the hotel air conditioner. Hours passed in a blur, his thoughts consumed by the information he devoured.
Suddenly, a dull ache throbbed at his temples. Chiming and destructive. He leaned back, eyes growing foggy. Rubbing his eyes, he wondered if this world had a “force” like the ones in novels. The kind that demanded an adjustment period.
If so, it could be said that the current him is still in the stage of being accepted by the “World's Force.”
Well-provided this world has one. If it does, then just like in the novels. I have to slowly adapt and acclimatize myself to the various conditions and threats that this world has got to offer.
Though it will be immensely difficult. I still have to give my all.
He struggled to stay awake, yet he couldn't go against the chiming, destructive force.
Before he knew it, he had passed out.
Hours later, Klaus's eyes shut open.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
A grin spread across his face.
“Man, that was one hell of a dream,” he muttered, chuckling to himself.
His eyes moved around the room, finally stopping on his brother, who was fast asleep.
Checking the time, he nodded," Two more hours to go."
He smiled, deciding to let Xavier rest a little longer. It had been a long few days, and his brother needed the break.
Slipping quietly from the room, Klaus hummed a soft tune as he made his way down the hallway.
He slowly made his way to the Mac Donald's Restaurant. After sleeping for a while. He was feeling weak, and his stomach was in dire need of something to munch on.
Arriving at the familiar restaurant. The terror-inducing mountain still stood high and tall, radiating an unholy glory that stained all who came near.
Klaus removed his gaze from the mountain before walking towards the restaurant.
The MacDonald's restaurant glowed ahead of him, a familiar sight. But as he approached, something felt wrong.
The hairs on the back of his neck prickled.
He stopped, eyes narrowing at the shattered glass scattered across the entrance. Inside, red streaks smeared across the floor, and the windows were blown inward. Every instinct screamed at him to turn back, but he pushed forward.
“What the hell happened here,” Klaus whispered, his eyes darting across the wreckage.
With a wary look adorning his face, he stepped forward.
TAAAP!! TAAAAP!!!
The ominous feeling of this eerie silence would have been enough to send cold chills running down the spine of any ordinary man, but not Klaus.
He glanced around warily whilst his feet created echoes that silently reverberated through the enclosed space.
He didn't know if it was a supernatural or a normal human affair. But be that as it may, I am already here, so I might as well check it out.
Just as he took one more step. He caught a faint whiff of sulfuric smell clinging to the air.
His heart rate spiked.
Demons!
Before he could react, a shadow moved- a bat swung. Darkness rushed in as the blow connected.
But within that brief moment of a second or more, he not only saw the demon, but he also caught a glimpse of Amanda. Blood gushing unceasingly from her chest whilst she gasped heavily for breath.
He knew she would definitely die and as a hunter, it was his duty to save her… yet his life was also hanging on a thread.
He needed to keep himself safe before thinking of saving others.
Should he really faint, he didn't need to be told to know his life would be in the hands of the demon.
And this really didn't sound so well to him.
Yet despite his obvious struggles, it was as clear as daylight that he was on the losing hand.
His eyes finally blacked out as he collapsed onto the ground with a loud thud.
“As expected of a Michealson.” The demon muttered, dragging Klaus's body into a room filled with mops, rakes, and cutlasses.
He then proceeded to gag Klaus's mouth. He wouldn't want to be sent back to Hell with the Romaniakn Exorcism Spell, would he?
Chuckling lightly in anticipation, he slowly gagged Klaus's mouth.

Meanwhile, within the Azure Hotel.
Xavier slowly opened his eyes. A few seconds later, after he had removed the slight tinge of drowsiness that lingered within the depths of his eyes.
He searched around for Klaus yet couldn't find any trace of his brother.
“Klaus.
Klaus!!” Xavier yelled out as he searched every nook and cranny of the room. Yet, Klaus was nowhere to be found.
“Perhaps he's left for Selina's house.” He muttered, before leaving the room.
Outside. He still saw his brother's car in sight.
Now… He knew something was wrong.
Klaus would never go anywhere without his precious car, That is definitely impossible.
Now he was really starting to panic as his heart went into a frenzied pace, thumping abnormally fast.
As of now, he didn't need to be told to know that his brother was undoubtedly in danger.
With clenched fingers, red eyes, and a trembling body.
Fuck Fuck..where the hell should I even check.
He thought as his mind raced at an insanely fast pace.
“The restaurant.” He muttered after a few seconds, his eyes abruptly lit up.
With a racing heart, he immediately dashed for the restaurant with everything he had got.
His heart raced and thumped violently as he moved at an incredulous pace.
Xavier's speed would have been more than enough to make the legendary Zenaris back on Earth to eat his dust.
But even still he wasn't satisfied.
Why can't this body fucking move faster!
He yelled inwardly as he pushed his body beyond his limits.
He soon arrived before the remarkable haven.
Likewise, he wasted no time as he immediately dashed into the restaurant.
Slowly closing the door with his hand tightly gripping onto the gun.
He moved with caution as his eyes easily caught a glimpse of the sulfur on the window after a few seconds of investigating.
“Demons.” He muttered solemnly.
KATA!! KATA!!!
His feet stepped onto the shattered glasses.
The eerie silence sent cold chills running down his spine, and the messy state of the restaurant heightened his dread and concern about his brother.
He slowly caught a glimpse of a familiar figure. Her entire body was in quite a bloodied state.
“Amanda!" Xavier yelled, feeling an indescribable feeling coursing through his heart.
He immediately arrived before her as she coughed profusely. Leading him to clench his hands as various primal emotions surged within him.
She coughed profusely as she tried to say something.
“Don't say anything.” He said as he attempted to carry her. She abruptly forced her weak arms to point behind him.
He suddenly felt a ferocious, cold rush of wind behind him.
Xavier immediately rolled to his left.
The demon had come out of plain sight and when he saw who it was.
For a second there, he lost the strength to even raise his arm.
