The bright golden rays of the sun shone upon the surface of the world.
A car could be seen speeding down the winding road.
Xavier had his hand placed on top of the edge of the window, whilst he gazed outside.
Staring absently at the passing landscape- snow-dusted trees, distant snowy-white mountains with piercing peaks and the desolate wilderness stretching out into the horizon.
Whilst he seemed to be lost in thought, Klaus was lost in the “realm of the legends” as he sang to the tunes and rhythm of one of his favorite classical rock music: Rolling Thunder!
Klaus's voice, rough but earnest, sang along to the lyrics:
“Drivin down this dusty road, a seemingly endless road.
The sun shines and illuminates the path before me.
Got the humming, got the car down.
A restless soul, a broken heart, drifting through this town.
Let me sing, let me dance.”
He smirked as he hit a sharp turn, sending the car into a smooth drift. The thrill of the moment pushed his foot harder onto the pedal.
"The Angels stand beside me, their grace showering upon me.
Rolling Thunder, hear my call.
Let's fall into eternal freedom.
On the highway, constantly chasing dreams.
Life is nothing but a journey.
A journey treaded with a demon's heart.
“City lights are fading fast, shadows in the rear.
The part is just a memory, no time for fear nor regret.
With every mile I left behind, I break open the shackles of fate!
On this open road, a land of darkness.
I seek the light no one can find.”
At this point, Klaus's voice was already reaching a crescendo, his fairly decent voice mixed with the blood pumping thrill coursing through his heart propelled him to hit harder on the car's pedal.
Stepping onto the pedal forcefully, the car sped into the distance with an incredulous speed, shocking the mind of most as Klaus rapidly drifted past them, barely avoiding smashing into a few cars in the process whilst he sang along to the classical rock music.
Xavier's brows furrowed. The rhythm of Klaus's carefree energy contrasted starkly with the weight of the mission at hand. He turned from the window, thoughts still tangled in a web of… imminent danger awaiting them in the wild.
“In the rearview mirror, I see the light I left behind.
But on this open highway, it's a new world that I find.
On the highway, chasing dreams and hunting things.
Life is a journey, far more precarious than it seems.”
His voice tore through the air like a fierce whirlwind, cutting through the desolate silence as his voice reached what one would call- the turning point; a crescendo state unlike no other.
“So here's to the road and the night so long.
To the endless horizon and to finding where we belong.
With the wind grazing my hair and the world beneath my feet.
I'm a rolling thunder no one can defeat!”
The car made a sharp drift before it came to a halt.
Klaus's voice had finally tuned down since the song had ended anyway and he had definitely sung to his heart's content.
Xavier, who had a furrowed brow slowly released the invisible grip on his brow before turning to face his brother.
“I have been thinking about it.” Xavier said, his right hand placed on his chin. "I think it will be for the best if we hunted down the Berserker Wendigo with the Remington 870 shotgun.
"Think about it. This is no ordinary Wendigo. We need a gun that delivers significant damage with every single hit.
“And the Remington 870 shotgun has just that. Compared to Glock 29 which, I doubt, will even be able to cause an iota of damage to the Berserker Wendigo.”
Klaus nodded, “Yeah, you are right.”
He sighed lightly, “Well then, guess we should get to loading the guns with silver bullets.” This is bound to be a hell of a fight. Klaus thought in exasperation, a faint sense of dread settling within him.

Both brothers alighted from the car.
Through the corner of his eyes, Xavier caught a glimpse of the incoming Selina who slowly headed their way.
She was adorned in a black trouser and a light white top.
Xavier stared at her with a scrutinizing gaze that gave Klaus the wrong impression.
Hmm…She seems to be calmer and more refined compared to when we first met.
Whilst Xavier thought about this. His elder brother held the wrong impression.
Chuckling inwardly, Klaus spoke lightly, “You should probably meet her and get to know one or two things about her current plans.”
“Alright.” Xavier smirked.
Klaus nodded in response.
A few seconds later. Xavier arrived before Selina. Klaus's gaze left Xavier before he got back to filling the guns with silver bullets.
“Good morning Detective Xander.”
“Good Morning Selina. How's your brother doing.” Xavier replied smilingly.
Knowing that Detective Xander was probably talking about Aven, she smiled.
“Well he's okay… I guess.”
She was silent for a whilst, a solemn outlook settling on her face.
But after a few seconds, she regained a lively demeanor that was bothering on the edge of solemnity and liveliness.
"I am really glad that you detectives are willing to help out in the search for my brother.
“I really appreciate it.” Selina gave a light bow.
Xavier's mind easily swept through his subconsciousness, easily finding the reason behind such a way of greeting.
Since Yansen City is in the northern region of the universal states. It stands to reason that its mode of greeting would be that of the Ancient Norman Empire of the supernatural Era.
Whilst Xavier was lost in thought about the history of the Ancient Norman Empire. How they had surfaced to their decline to the unknown secrets between them… The history bridge… the gap between that era and the Mysticism Era.
He sighed lightly, a subtle urge to become more knowledgeable slowly overwhelming him.
He had to find the cause of all this, he had to breach the unbreakable barriers between the various eras and their subsequent epochs. He had to…
A man who seemed to be in his late forties had little white hair sprinkled around his head and held a gun in hand, slowly walked towards them.
Xavier was immediately drawn out of his reverie by the subtle echoes.
He does seem to be the hunter. Xavier analyzed with a scrutinizing gaze.
The man approached Selina before speaking up.
“Hey Kiddo, aren't you done yet. The earlier we head for the forest, the better it's for us.”
“Staying in a forest during the nights' can be quite dangerous.” The man added solemnly.
“Yeah we can leave now. The detectives have arrived.” Selina replied smilingly.
The man's gaze shifted towards Xavier who felt he was being scrutinized.
“And what do you know about wild animals?”
“Enough to roam the forest.” A loud voice rang into their ears.
“Oh- And also- less I forget, I have probably killed more of this so-called wild animals than you have ever seen.” Klaus said with a wide grin, his voice laced with overwhelming haughtiness.
Arriving before them, he threw a gun at Xavier who easily caught it.
“And you are?” The man questioned with a raised brow.
“He's one of the detectives.” Selina immediately interjected.
She could feel the unseen heat surging upward, slowly but surely. And she had to stop it. She needs their help. All of them. Not one nor two less.
“Alright. Just tell this friends of yours to not obstruct me from doing my job.” The man said with a poker expression.
Turning his gaze towards Klaus, he added.
“As for you, brat. I have been hunting before your parents probably even met talkless of having you as an idea.”
The man chuckled lightly, then proceeded to walk away with a wide smirk settling on his face.
“Sorry guys. Please don't take it to heart.” Selina suddenly bowed as she tried to appease the detectives.
“Nah we're good.” Xavier simply laughed it away.
Whilst Klaus gave the man a piercing cold look.
Just you wait till you find yourself in its mouth. Let's see if you're still so cocky.
He harrumphed inwardly, hoping for the man's death to come as quickly as possible.
Selina was still staring at Klaus, which prompted Xavier to glance at his brother.
Seeing the look on his brother's face, he couldn't help but laugh inwardly.
A wry smile finding its way at the corner of his lips, he proceeded to nudge Klaus whilst letting out dry coughs.
This seemed to be more than enough to bring Klaus out of his reverie.
“Alright. So when do we leave?” He questioned after regaining his cool.
“Right now.” Selina replied before walking toward the man who stood by his black truck whilst smoking cigar.
She spoke with him for a while, enduring the unbearable stench of the cigar.
Minutes later, she arrived before the detectives.
“We can head for the forest.” Hopefully, it all goes well.
Alex…
Selina's mind ran into shards of frantic thoughts, each one more difficult to bare than the last.
Unknowingly, she was even gnawing on her lower lips, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
Both brothers nodded, sighing inwardly before following behind Selina.
“Good morning.” Aven greeted both detectives.
“Does he also plan on following us?” The man asked with a raised brow.
“Yes.” Aven hurriedly replied.
With Selina being quiet for a pretty long time, he knew the kid would be tagging along.
“Alright. But the price will be doubled.” I can't be babysitting two kids for such a petty amount.
“Also if we don't find any trace by nighttime. You both will have to return first.”
Selina bit on her lower lips.
I can…I should be able to come up with the amount… hopefully.
“Okay.” She spoke up a few seconds later.
The man nodded before turning his back, as they made way for the eerie desolate region of the desolate wilderness whilst taking into view the distant nightmarish abyssal mountain that reeked of unholiness.
Both brothers immediately followed behind, both having a solemn expression.
They knew what the siblings were currently attempting was nothing short of being a suicide mission. Yet, they didn't need to be told to know that no amount of words will be able to convince the siblings to stop looking for their brother.
And Klaus was the most irritated.
This is literally the same thing as going on a hunt with a bunch of kids. He lamented inwardly. Hopefully, none of them dies… on our watch.
Both brothers gaze subconsciously lingered on each other for a few seconds before Klaus let out a depreciating laughter, whilst Xavier sighed lightly.
Both acknowledging the fact that they had a hell of a workload ahead of them.
Klaus was silent for a whilst as both brothers stood rigid on the spot.
He exhaled deeply before speaking up.
“We should probably start moving.”
He paused for a second, organizing his thoughts before he added.
“We just have to try our best.”
Xavier nodded before both brothers immediately tried to catch up with the rest of the cohort.
A tensed aura brewed within the eerie atmosphere, a cold chilling wind washing over them, whilst the nightmarish mountain in the far distance, heightened the sense of dread and terror that had grabbed onto them.
Forcing down the unease, both brothers walked into the confines of the forest, as they prepared to face the beast within… and perhaps, much more.
