A Dreadful Premonition

Towering Ancient trees spread for as far as the eyes could see. The eerie dark ancient trees were layered across the desolate wilderness with layers upon layers of fallen tree leaves in sight.

The chirping of insects, the calling of birds and the scurrying of insects had all resumed, with two figures walking amidst this lively environment, a wide contrast to its previous eerie desolate and mind-wrenching silent demeanor.

The figure on the left hand side, had a snow-white hair; pristine bright white, devoid of any other color or shade. Whilst the other had a mist-grey hair; a light almost translucent grey that resembles the morning fog.

This color had a haunting beauty, creating an atmosphere of absolute dominance and tyranny.

The figures were none other than the otherworldly Michealson brothers: Xavier and Klaus respectively.

They walked at a slow pace yet each step they took brought them forward by multiple steps.

Despite walking at a seemingly slow pace, they moved at quite the rapid speed, easily moving past multiple towering ancient trees with gnarled tree tops that came together to form complex patterns which strangely and mysteriously weaved itself into branches of canopies.

The canopies blocked the mild rays of the sun, which heightened the chilling sense of coldness within the confines of the forest to greater heights. That would also explain why they felt unusually cold within its confines.

They finally arrived before the car, opening the boot. Klaus wasted no time in bringing out the fire propellant.

Whilst Selina and her youngest brother simply stood at the edge of the door, standing from afar, their eyes glimmering with a tinge of hope and fear.

Xavier lightly sighed, understanding how they might be feeling.

A mix of hope and fear.

Hope that their brother would be found mixed and interwines with the fear of him being found... dead. Xavier lightly shook his head, forcing down the cold sense of unease gnawing and clawing at him.

"Alright. We have got the fire propellant.

"Do you think we might need any other thing?

"Since we are heading for its hideout after burning its corpse, we should be careful."

Xavier's brows creased together at the words of his brother.

"I don't really think we need any other thing apart from the guns and the fire propellant."

Klaus nodded before closing the booth.

He held the gun in one hand and held the fire propellant in the other, albeit with what appears to be little difficulties in carrying both at the same time.

"We will soon be back. Make sure you stay at home and don't, I repeat, don't attempt to enter the forest.

"Even if you don't see us till nighttime, you don't have to worry. We can keep ourselves safe.

But the same can't be said for both of you, hence it will be for the best if you both are able to keep your anxiety in check and place your trust in us."

Xavier warned, paused for a second before he added, his eyes gleaming with a fierce determination.

"If Alex is still... Alive. Then you will definitely see him before the dawn of tomorrow."

Seline gave a light nod whilst her lips trembled slightly, clearly too shaken to say a word.

Xavier nodded with a light smile before walking towards his brother.

Both brothers slowly headed back into the desolate forest. The bone chilling mountain was still as terror inducing as usual, it was still radiating a strong oppressive aura that filled the air with a palpable sense of dread.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Upon entering the forest once again, both brothers' hair suddenly stood on end, they felt a cold chilling feeling surge throughout their body, their heart seemed to have ceased to beat and everything seemed to have come to a stand-still.

It was as though an invisible cold pair of eye was watching from beyond the depths of the mortal minds. They could hear their rapidly beating heart with mind shattering clarity, they didn't doubt that if such a feeling was to last for eternity, it might really be enough to send one to death's door!

It was just that terrifying!

But luckily for them, the feeling went by just as it came. It happened for just a split second, making them feel like they were probably hallucinating or perhaps they were thinking too much after the subsequent events that had taken place.

Scouting and rummaging through their surroundings with an eerie focused gaze, with a tensed atmosphere reigning supreme.

They didn't find anything 'superntural related', hence decided to wave it off their minds after minutes to what seemed like hours of failed investigation.

It wasn't weird for them to be having such an intense and ominous feeling after all they had just been through. A thought that they both used to mask the facade of fear and dread that clutched onto their hearts.

They continued walking at a balanced pace, seemingly not in a rush.

Klaus slowly moved to his rock-star mode, the classical rock music fueling his adrenaline as he sang in a low pitched tone, whilst Xavier simply allowed his thoughts to run amok.

Mostly reminiscing on the blissful moments he had with Ife.

The kisses, the hugs, sneaking out to go on dates, the heart-warming words, the heart-felt emotions being poured and weaved into a tale of love and now... sorrow.

He exhaled deeply as he forced back the teardrops stirring within the depths of his eyes.

He decided to remove the thoughts away from his mind.

Yet the more he thought about it, the more he thought about those moments.

And the more he thought about those heart-warming moments. The more he felt as though a hole was being drilled through his heart.

It hurts... It hurts a lot.

It was perhaps the cruelest pain that he had ever gone through. But ironically enough, it was all caused by him.

He was the one that had chosen to end his life after all.

I am sorry Ife... Am really sorry. I just couldn't hold on any longer... I couldn't.

Tears threatened to fall from his eyes as he let out a self deprecating laughter, one that could only be heard within the innermost depths of his mind.

Klaus through Xavier's expression and vacant gaze realized that Xavier was most probably lost in thought as always.

He wanted to say something to liven up the atmosphere or at least do something.

But upon thinking about it, everyone has their way of getting past through the boring and jobless moments.

Whilst he mostly sings, dance and move to the classical tunes of famous rock stars.

For Xavier, it was probably thinking about the saddening moments of life.

Klaus sighed lightly, knowing he couldn't change this aspect of his younger brother.

He could only try to liven the atmosphere as always.

At the end of it all.

Only Alexandros could be of help to himself, but the least he could do is to try his best to make his younger brother happy.

Both brothers finally arrived at what was supposed to be the corpse's position.

Some meters away from the eerie dark-red stream of blood, their eyes suddenly got narrowed.

Their hearts thumping at an insanely fast speed.

They felt a tight illusory grip on their hearts, as a cold chilling wind rose upwards from the soles of their feet to the hair on their heads.

The silence at this moment was bone-chilling and dreadful to say the least. The reality that had unfurled before their very own eyes immediately forced the brothers into a wary state.

A cold chilling wind washed over their skin, bathing them in its eerie warmth as they felt the flow of blood within them rapidly reducing to a very minimal extent.

"Where the hell is it?" Klaus tightly gripped onto the shotgun as his eyes darted around warily.

Xavier's heart pounded violently.

He struggled to retain his calmness as his voice which was currently heavy and solemn sliced through the eerie silence.

"How do you expect me to know.

Didn't we both just get back here."

"B-ut, the wendigo is dead, right?"

Klaus lips trembled slightly, as he struggled to retain his nonchalant expression, yet he was obviously failing to do so.

"Of course."

Definitely. There's no way it could have survived. No way... Xavier comforted himself before he added, "It's definitely deader than dead."

An ominous sense of dread and unease continously wrapped around them as it held them on the teetering edge of the abyss, their mind racing fast and wide, yet they couldn't come up with a logical explanation.

And to be sincere, Klaus definitely didn't like this ominous feeling, not one bit.

Definitely not at all, the same can be said for Xavier who felt as though he had been placed into an abyss of endless darkness with no source of light or logic in sight.

After searching and scouting for thirty minutes straight with a heavy, dreaded mind.

They had no choice but to wave it off.

Perhaps a wild animal had passed by and decided to munch on the Berserker Wendigo.

Although the chances of that happening is quite rare, but at the same time very much possible.

With this thought in mind. Xavier and his brother decided to wave it off their minds. Not that they had any other choice.

They didn't really have to be so tensed up over the dissapearance of a corpse. Do they? Klaus tried to force out his nonchalant attitude, as he tried his best to calm his rapidly beating heart.

Minutes clocked by, into what seemed like hours.

After they were done convincing themselves to forget about it. To wave it off their mind. Hide it in the depths of their subconsciousness.

They decided to first drop the flame propellant.

After they had dropped it. They went back into the forest and began trailing its footsteps, blood of its victims and some other small yet important clues to the Berserker Wendigo's hidden hideout.
