Jen just stares at the body of Evlee Mil in disbelieve of the way he feels about this situation. If he can so easily take a life, then why was he enraged by the actions of Evlee Lum?
I know this is the body of my game character and not my original one, but that shouldn’t change my mentally, right? Jen thinks to himself as frustration, and confusion surfaces on his face.
Before Jen came to this world, he spent most of his time indoors. He didn’t do this, because he had some traumatic experience, and didn’t wish to see anyone. He did it because virtual reality games were more entertaining. It’s not like he had some personal vendetta against humanity, and wanting them all died. He actually liked playing and talking to other people. It’s just he liked doing that in virtual reality more. So actually killing someone wasn’t something he has really thought about. At the very least he thought the deed would be harder than pointing a finger, and more mentally taxing than the thought ‘Hm, he’s dead. Well another one bites the dust.’
Sigh, I don’t want to turn into a cold-blooded killer, who’ll kill for the slightest reasons. Jen depressedly thought to himself. If he couldn’t figure out the reason behind himself being able to kill so easily, then what’s to say he won’t change even more?
What could possibly change my mental state? I’ve got a new body and the abilities that come with it, but that wouldn’t change my way of thinking. What else could have changed? What else could have caused this mental shift? Jen questions himself continuously.
“WAIT! That could be it.” Jen unintendedly said out loud as the thought hit him.
My soul! I didn’t really think about it, but my original soul must have combined, absorbed, or was somehow replaced with the soul of my game character. Could the change in my soul be the cause of my mental changes? Because now I’m technically a primordial soul in a 16-year-old body. Jen exclaimed to himself. This was the first and only reason he could come up with, to explain his mental changes. Has my soul really changed the way I feel about the life of another person, who wishes to take my life?
To some people this might seem like Jen is just trying to justify himself. But why wouldn’t he try to? He had just killed someone and didn’t feel a thing. One has to remember that he’s from modern earth, were morals is a hot topic. So why would he, who had lived a relatively peaceful life before coming here, want to admit to being some sort of psychopath. Why wouldn’t he try to find a reason to why the way he feels contradicts with the views of the world he has come from? And yet, even for those who believe that his reasoning is only self-serving, they must admit that there is some logic in it.
For a player their soul ages from the time they started playing the game to the present day. Souls are divided up into different classes. From lowest to highest there’s the Newborn, Adult, Old, Elder, Ancient, Deity, and Primordial soul. But the primordial soul can only be obtained by a player who was a beta tester for the game. They can only choose this reward after becoming a deity soul, but all the rewards for beta testers required them to achieve something, so the player would not easily regret their choose.
The aging of a person’s soul is similar to an award for a long time player, since the older the soul the sterner it is, and the harder it is to harm. An older soul will also help with a player’s cultivation. And because this is a reward from the developers to long time players, reincarnation won't restart there age. Yet the disadvantage can be clearly seen too. Older souls make great elixirs, and even a cultivator could absorb some of an older soul’s power to strengthen their own cultivation or soul.
After reasoning through his changes and calming down Jen thinks. Well, what should I do now? It seems the Evlee Family wants to kill me. His soul shouldn’t have dissipated yet, so I can extract the information I need from it.
After getting the information from Evlee Mil’s soul, Jen thinks. I see, so that’s the situation. Looks like I may still need this soul.

Bull Family’s Mansion
“Chief, the Evlee family is outside, and they wish to see you.” Bull Ne says as he comes up to Bull Bem.
“They’ve finally arrived. Well then let go.” Bull Bem says as the walk to the front of the mansion.
Bull Bem and the elders of the family start walking to the front of the mansion. After they exit the mansion they come face to face with Evlee Kell, Evlee Lum, the elders and some guards of the Evlee family. Evlee Kell didn’t want to bring a large group over to the Bull territory. Right now wasn’t the time to attack, and bringing too large of a group could lead the Bull family into thinking they were flaunting their power or worse, declaring war. For Evlee Kell’s plan to work he needs the element of surprise, and putting the Bull family on their guard won’t help. But if he can anger Bull Bem without alarming him, then Bull Bem is more likely to make a mistake, and that will be the time to attack.
“Evlee Kell greets Bull Bem.” Evlee Kell says.
“And Bull Bem greets Evlee Kell. But I’m sorry to say that I must cancel our meeting today. You see, I’m been very busy the past few days, and just don’t have the time.” Bull Bem says in a calm voice, but contempt can be seen in his eyes.
At Bull Bem’s words, a smirk comes across Evlee Kell’s face. This was what he wanted to happen. If Bull Bem didn’t refuse to see him then all he could do was anger him in the privacy of Bull Bem’s mansion. But now he can anger and cause Bull Bem to lose face in front of the people who have gathered to watch the outcome of their exchange. One must understand that all the people of Bull Red city know the friction between the two major families of the city, and they also know that Bull Bem’s only son has gone missing. The people of the city know that Bull Bem will put nothing before his son, and those people have come here hoping for a show.

“Bull Bem, your son has been missing for almost a week. I am sorry that I must be the one to tell you this, but your son is most likely dead. As the chief of your family this can’t keep going on, or those who follow you may turn their backs on an incompetent leader. If you keep these actions up it will be to the detriment of your family.” Evlee Kell says with a frown on his face. One has to give it to Evlee Kell, what he said is all true, except the part about him being sorry.
“Evlee Kell you come to my territory, and in front of me say that my son is dead. What gives you so much confidence? Were you involved in my son’s disappearances?” Bull Bem says calmly as he narrows his eyes.
“Bull Bem, I came here today for our meeting and was then turned away. I have only said your son is mostly likely dead, and I only said it because of the way you have handled your family in the past week. You have used many of your family’s man and resources for a fruitless endeavor, and continue to do so. I was afraid that if I didn’t say anything you would continue to bring your family towards ruins. But instead of thanking me, you accuse me! I’m sorry Bull Bem, but are you still fit to run your family.” Evlee Kell says in a flat tone, as he stares at Bull Bem.
“Hmph, why does my family’s business concern you? I am very busy and don’t have time for this, you should be taking you leave.” Bull Bem once again says calmly.
Evlee Kell was perplexed. How could Bull Bem still be so calm? Everyone in the city knows how much he loves his son. Yet even after being told his son has died, being called an incompetent leader, and then having his position as chief put into question, he still remains calm. Evlee Kell couldn’t figure it out.
He didn’t believe the people he hired would fail. They were professions at the Development realm, and Bull Ye was only at the first star of the Developmental realm.
Bull Bem had already lost face in front of many of the people who had come today, but Evlee Kell couldn’t leave it at that. The main reason he had come here today was to anger Bull Bem. To throw Bull Bem off balance and cause him to make a fatal mistake that the Evlee family could take advantage of.
“Bull Bem you still deny that your son is dead and are going to continue to bring your family down for a good for nothing son. I can’t help but feel sorry that the Bull family has such an unfit chief. To think you’ll put the welfare of your child over that of your family’s.” Evlee Kell says in a disappointed tone, but if one were to listen carefully then they could hear the chill behind it.
“You have gone from saying my son is mostly likely dead to he is dead. It seems to me that you’re a little too confident in that statement.” Bull Bem says with narrowed eyes. “Though it does not concern you, my son is still alive. He’s insid…”
“Haha, people look at the once mighty Bull Bem! He has gone from a force to be reckoned with, to an old fool! For those who follow him, I would suggest that you stop, or your families may fall into ruin just like his.” Evlee says loudly interrupting Bull Bem, as he subtlety threatens the people around them.
“Who is it that’s being so loud out here?” At that moment, a voice comes from the entrance of the Bull family’s mansion.
As everyone looks to the entrances, they all express shocked expressions.
“Bull Ye! But how!” Evlee Kell says in shock.
Not even many members of the Bull family have known about the return of Bull Ye. So his sudden appearance had shocked everyone except those select few.
“Hmph, Evlee Kell, what was that about my son being dead.” Bull Bem snort as he stares at Evlee Kell with a cold expression.
“Impossible! If he is still alive then what are you using your man and resources to look for?” Evlee Kell says in an angry tone. Today instead of making the Bull family look bad, the Evlee family was the one looking bad.
“The matters of my family doesn’t concern you. So now leave.” Bull Bem says in a cold tone.
Evlee Kell was furious. How could he not know what has happened here today. The Bull family set him up, and now he is the one losing face.
“Father, how could we just let the Evlee family leave after they came to our mansion and insulted us?” Bull Ye asked as he stares at Evlee Kell with a cold smile.
The people around were shocked at Bull Ye’s words. When did this good for nothing kid become so vicious?
Evlee Kell narrowed his eyes and coldly said. “Are you declaring war on my Evlee family?”
“Even if we were, what could you do? You’re on our Bull territory remember.” Bull Ye bluffed. Even though they were in the Bull family territory, they still had Evlee Kell and their family elders. The Evlee family guards would be easily overpowered, but the Bull family guards would be little help against the Evlee chief and elders. In the end, it would be an indecisive battle if they were to fight now.
“Bull Ye, even though you’re still at the first star of the developmental stage you’ve got a pretty big mouth. You wouldn’t dare say anything if you didn’t have your family backing you.” Evlee Lum says with a cold smile.
“Hmph, I wouldn’t dare? Would you dare say such things to me if you didn’t have your family’s backing? Let’s prove who dares go against the other without our family’s backing, by having a death fight.” Bull Ye says.
“Fine, but I won’t just be taking your life. Do you dare to bet one silver coin?”
At these words the crowd becomes noisy. Silver coins are for the really rich. Many people never see a silver coin in their entire lives. An average family in Bull Red city could only make 15-20 copper coins a week, while a richer family would get about 90 copper to 1 bronze a week. Even for the two major families in Bull Red city, one silver coin was just about all of their family’s worth. The one who loses this fight may not be a major family in Bull Red city for much longer.
“I dare.” Bull Ye says with a smile.
