Of course this wasn't real magic but a little chemistry trick he learnt from the grand elder. The Lagann Kingdom was a lot more technologically advanced than this simple country city. Lagann Kingdom was similar to a modern city, it had running water and electricity. But Wsc village was still living in the dark ages.
The man roared and his fighting spirit ignited, he took the sword that Fuyo held out for him and cleaved his way through 3 guards. The crowd was shocked.
Fuyo turned around and yelled "Will you follow me as your new leader and become dragons among men? Will you stand up and fight for what is yours? Tell me now and I will grant you the power to fight. You will never bow your head to anyone again!"
His speech was strong and profound.
The other mercenaries stood up and rushed into fight. There were 8,000 city guards and only 300 mercenaries. But with 100,000 commoners here, what could they do against such large numbers?
The villagers saw the 300 men injuring and killing the guards.
"They are so powerful! They are almost like trained mercenaries. Is this the power he bestowed upon them, is he a God?"
100 brave men felt inspired and ran into battle. Followed by another 100, soon more than 10,000 villagers were fighting against the City Guards. The show had already reached its climax.
Fuyo walked out with his sword in hand. "That's enough entertainment for one night; it's time to end the show." He spoke calmly as he collected his thoughts. He breathed in and out slowly calming with body and attuning himself with his surroundings. Like a ghost he was there one moment and gone the next.
Boom! He flew through the crowd like a hungry jack rabbit chasing a carrot.
A silver light flickered through the air, followed by streams of blood and the sounds of bodies hitting the floor. In the time it takes for 3 breaths, 25 city guards were sliced through by Fuyo alone.
If this continued then in 300 short breathes the entire City Guard regiment would be completely wiped out. The guards couldn't stop his advance as he broke through their encirclement.
The eyes of everyone present were focused on Fuyo as he smashed straight through the middle. In less time than it takes for a baker's breath he was already standing on top of the City Lords dead body.
One hand held a blood covered sword, the other hand held a head. The City Lord didn't even know how he died. Fuyo was simply too fast. His blade easily cleaved through his jugular and severed his head in one swift movement.
The City Guards were terrified, this wasn't a fight it was a massacre.
"Throw down your weapons and I will let you live."
They hesitated. If they threw down their weapons they would have no way of protecting themselves anymore. Their hands trembled because of the strong seeded fear Fuyo had planted in them.
"Now!" He yelled ferociously. His voice was filled with 100% of his fighting spirit and blood lust. Some guards wet themselves and collapsed.
They completely surrendered and threw down their weapons.
If he could have, he would've chosen not to kill any City Guards but he had to make a show of strength and force. Unfortunately, those City Guards were the stepping stones in his rise to greatness. No wars have been won without a little bloodshed.
Fuyo achieved his goal, today was a great victory and a good birthday present to himself. The more than 7,000 surviving guards swore loyalty to Fuyo. The people cheered and partied for days and dubbed this celebration Independence Day.
It was a celebration of them changing their fate and taking matters into their own hands. They felt empowered by Fuyos words and powers. But alas, they could not hear the drums of war sounding in Fuyos heart.
Even though he was now Lord of the land everything was not sunflowers and daises. The village was facing a major crisis. The land was dying thanks to poor managament, many patches had already dried up and it needed someone to bring it back to life.
But this was easier said than done.
So this was his plan. The first step was cultivating the land. He showed his humility by farming alongside the villagers. He wasn't afraid to humble himself and dirty his clothes. This offered them comfort and helped form an even deeper bond.
He lowered taxes to an affordable rate and he invested 40% of the village funds towards land cultivation. This was their idea of a perfect Lord, calm, reasonable, strong, powerful, kind and caring but also decisive and ruthless.
He played the part so well that his status was alleviated from Lord to God. They would not hesitate to throw down their lives for their Lord. That's the kind of power he had against them.
2 years flew by in an instant and Fuyo celebrated his 18th birthday.
For the past two years he worked on clearing their border and uprooting the trees to create more farm land. It was a resource heavy task but it was executed effectively and efficiently.
Fuyo had planned out the next 10 years of his life. The first step was growing enough food to support a massive army, the next was to absorb the surrounding territories and have them swear loyalty. From there he could declare war and forcefully enlist able bodied men to join the army. After that he could take cities and lay siege to other lands. With large amounts of food and resources behind them they could war indefinitely.

Yama admired this quality in Fuyo. If he was alive when the war broke out he could have turned the tides on Alezhar Empire because he was a great strategist. As he thought of this he suddenly remembered the reason the war started.
It had been 30 years since the calculations were drawn. If he was right then the calamity would strike tomorrow at noon.
He paced back and forth as he thought about the situation. A look of resolution appeared in his eyes. He grabbed his bag and snuck out in the dead of night. He chose not to use a horse and instead went on foot. This wasn't because horses were too loud but because he was faster than a horse by several times despite his old body.
In only 7 hours he covered more than 1000 km.
He was currently in a strange place, the trees were dead and there wasn't a single sign of life anywhere. There were no animals or insects, not a single sound could be heard. Even the wind seemed to avoid this place. It gave off a very ominous feeling. The locals would stay far away from this place. Over the years it had come to be known as the deathly hallows.
He dug his way through the black mud until he found a bear shaped stone protruding from the ground. The bear looked fearsome, its teeth were jagged rocks and its claws were like fine diamonds.
The bear stone was actually a naturally formed rock. It didn't have much significance, the reason the grand elder made his way here was due to its shape. It was easy to remember.
This was the landmark he used to remember where he buried the ebon-gray box. He dug his hands deep into the black soil in front of the stone. The soil was extremely hard but his fingers were powerful like an iron sword. His fist could even smash stone. But even then he felt his fingers go numb while trying to dig through the black soil.
"Tomorrow I will enter the earth and reunite with my sons. But Fuyo has so much talent; it would be a waste to see him die on this desolate world. Even though I won't be able to see the person he will become. I know he will achieve great things. This will give him that chance." He muttered to himself under his breath.
Finally he found the box he had buried all those years ago.
"Hmm, I never got Fuyo a birthday present. Well, this is the best present I could ever give. You lucky bastard." He sighed.
This box contained a secret, a forbidden secret. Throughout human history it has been the cause of many bloody battles. It was also the reason Alezhar Empire and Lagann Kingdom went to war.
Alezhar and Lagann were the two ruling super powers of the world. Their technology was years ahead of its peers.
A group of astronomers wanted to pierce through the veil of heaven and discover its machinations. They wanted to unlock the very secrets of the heavens itself.
They built a giant telescope following an ancient alien blueprint they found. It was estimated to be more than a 100,000 years old. The creators were from a place called earth. No one knew what kind of place it was. It was described in the scrolls that these powerful "earthlings" could travel through the heavens like dragons. They had the power to destroy planets and up-heave the cosmos. It was a frightening picture painted by these words.
Because their technology was inferior it took them more than a thousand years to construct it.
But with this alien technology they could pierce through the darkness and glance into the deep abyss of space.
No one expect that by doing so they would open Pandora's box.
The astronomers were excited over the completion of the telescope. Their ancestors had worked for generations and finally it was being completed in their own lifetime. They continued to glance out into space day and night. The telescope pierced through the false sky and gave them the power to see the stars. They looked out into heaven but at the same time, something else looked back.
Visions flashed inside the heads of every living person. They saw images of people being ripped apart and eaten. They saw Gods and Demons being devoured by the Kishin. Their souls were torn apart and sucked away. It was like a fearsome ogre sucking bone marrow from its prey. Many people shrugged this off as a nightmare but the astronomers knew better. They had unwittingly opened Pandora's Box.
The planet they lived on was sealed by the Demon Sealing Jade. Not only was its heaven and earth magic cut off but also its presence. Gods could fly by and never noticed its existence. But it was different when they pierced through the heavens, they unwillingly exposed themselves.
When they looked out into space the Kishin felt eyes focusing on it. It was light years away, but its senses were unfathomable. It looked into the distance and saw nothing but darkness. The Lonely Planet was a desolate world with no sun and no moon. There were no other planets close to it. It was a desolate world with no neighbours. It was almost invisible, almost.
The Kishins senses were honed like a sharpened sword. It knew It's senses wouldn't lie, so it made a one way track straight towards the Lonely Planet. It knew something was there even if it couldn't see it.
The telescope wasn't a normal telescope; it was a fearsome piece of computing technology. It gave calculations on the Kishin and how long it would take to arrive.
30 years. In 30 years the Kishin would arrive and every living being will meet a terrible end.
It was a horrible thing to imagine. The astronomers were shaking in their boots and started destroying the telescope out of fear, it was too late. The Kishin had already found them and it was coming. It was coming and nothing could stop it.
The astronomers came before King Yama. Emperor Vizard Alezhar was also present. Yama was about to marry his son Ichigo Ushikai to the Emperors daughter Orihimethe following week.
The astronomers told story of what happened. King Yama then ordered the immediate execution of the astronomers for crimes against humanity.
Despite their good relationship, tensions began to rise between the two countries. Emperor Vizard Alezhar wasn't resigned to his fate and he knew about the ebon-gray box housed in the Lagann Kingdom. He knew that whatever was in the box could offer a life after death.
Inside that ebon-gray box was a simple wooden seed, the seed had been petrified and became a wooden stone seed. This seed was also known as the seed of transmigration.
The seed was ancient, older than the planet itself. It would swallow your blood and energy, then it would drill its way into your heart and devour your soul. It was a painful process but it would give you the opportunity of a new life. It would sever your spirit from your body and then transfer you to a new one.
It had been in the royal treasury for 2,000 years. They stole it from another Kingdom that stole it from another Kingdom. It had a long history of blood associated with it. There were originally 100 seeds but now there was only one left. Whether it worked or not, no one really knew. Over the years many people have found the box and took a seed on their death bed. This was a last ditch effort to avoid death. No one knew where the seeds came from they only knew that it was something other worldly.
Fuyo lamented his death, his mother, his master and his shattered dreams. His heart started to cry but he never expressed it, he buried it deep within the dark recesses of his heart. Everyone he cared about was dead, his mother and his master gave their lives so that he could survive. How could he ever repay them? He couldn't. The only thing he could do was live. He would achieve great things in their honor and rule the world in their stead.
His life wasn't over, it had only just begun.
