[Xoi’s Pov]
I have been cultivating and training my battle skills for 18 years. I began when I was two years old, considered a genius through all of my training, and I achieved the middle tier of the Great Saint tier. (rankings from least to greatest: Saint, Saint Master, Great Saint, Earth saint, King Saint, Emperor Saint, God saint, Heaven Saint.) My master told me that he himself only achieved the Great saint rank after 60 years.
A downside to this intense training was my very small amount of interaction with others except master, my sister, mother and father.
I have come out from training two years ago, when I was 18 years old. At the time I was a low-rank Great Saint, now I’m mid-rank. I was told that that day, the skies had darkened for a minute, and lightning had poured down. They took this as a sign from the heavens, and told me that it was time for me to go out and explore the real world.
And explore I did. At first, I was always awkward when talking with others, but I got better with time. Girls would fawn over me because of my position, strenght and relative handsomness, and boys would admire me. My father never let it go through my head though, and drilled into me a mindset that forbade me from acting all high and mighty.
I never understood what father meant by 'true love', but that was until that day. That fateful day I don't think I can ever forget.
I was silently drinking at an inn, waiting for a friend to arrive so that we could go out and practice togheter, when a girl entered the inn. I didn't notice at first, but when everybody fell silent I checked what was happening and was stunned by the sight.
There was a girl of perhaps 17 or 18 years old, she was 170cm tall, had long hair that carried an ocean-blue color, and eyes perhaps an even deeper blue then her hair. Her face reminded me of the immortals father would always tell me stories about. I simply couldn't take my eyes off of her.
She walked up to the receptionist and casually bought a room for two weeks, which considering how expensive this inn is, she must be quite rich. She then went up to what I suppose was her new room.
Whispers began to circulate. Some claimed she must be the daughter of some extremely rich and powerful clan, but I doubt so. She didn't act like they would.
I came back very early in the morning the next day in hopes of seeing her. Many other people did too, including Yang. I didn't see him yesterday, but he's known for kidnapping women and using them as his toys. I'm definetly not going to let that happend.
After 2 hours, she came down from the stairs and as she was about to leave, Yang sent his two men forward to stop her. He then said some bullshit about coming with her, but she amazingly answered in a tone that even I was scared of. "... Leave. Now."
Her voice carried a deep and hidden power, but Yang didn't notice, and ordered his men to attack. I took the opportunity and beat him up real good. He deserves it, after all. Nobody, not even his own clan, really likes this man.
I turn to the girl and for a moment hesitate. Her face was absolutely neutral, like nothing happend. I still choose to say "Everything alright, young lady?" I try to be respectful in order to get a good impression with her. She nodded and left. I wanted to say something, but my inexperience forbade me from doing so. I did manage to squeeze out "Young lady, may I know your name?"
"... Leviathan. Leviathan Reaper." I blinked a little. What a strange-sounding name. I never heard anything like it. I repeated it silently in order to make sure I won't forget it, and in the meanwhile she left the inn.
For the next three days, I tried looking for her everywhere, and once found her as she was heading to the Magical Forest. It's true that the beasts there aren't all that strong, but they're still no joke, even for me. I was somewhat worried, but my friend Mao stopped me from annoying her any further. He then spent an hour lecturing me that I shouldn't chase after women, but bid my time and take my chance when the time comes.
My father even invited her and talked with her. He said that she was very mysterious, and like, had some obvious trouble interacting with people. She never made full sentences, and would often simply try to walk away. She never seemed to rush, always having a destination but never a specific time to reach for it. This is what my father said. He's amazingly good at reading people, so I don't doubt his words. He did mention that she acts like a giant in a baby's body, but neither I nor him really figured why and I had some trouble even just understanding what he meant.
My chance did come though, she said to simply go at the auction they were going to hold today. I was going to go anyway, as it's kind of a big deal since all the big-shots of the city will be there, and lots of useful stuff will be sold off. Now, I had even more motivation to go.
I dressed in my nicest suit and mentally prepared myself. I then walked alongside a couple of servants that were sent from the clan to come along with me and arrived at the auction. I didn't see her around, so I bought a VIP box and went up there. The auction wouldn't start until an hour passed anyway, so I wasn't in a hurry.

After 40 minutes of waiting, almost everybody was in their seats already. That was when I saw her. Well, almost everybody was looking at her.
She was wearing a beyond beutiful blue dress that resembled the ocean, and fit her perfectly considering her hair and eyes, and had a pair of high heeled blue shoes. Everything about her was... blue? Must be her favourite color...
She bought a VIP box, much to my delight, right next to my own. I could even see her from my own! I was already jumping in joy and the auction hadn't even started. I had brought with me 150 gold coins, which were essentially all of my personal funds I saved up over the years.
A servant came and carried a glass of wine over to me. I drank it and focused on the now starting auction.
A girl dressed in a rabbit suit soon came out. "Hello there people~. My name is Tan, and I'll be your auctioneer for today. We have a total of 100 objects, and we will start with the less costly ones~. Okay, first up is a real beuty, the Pearl of Oceans. It is said that it was found in the dephts of the sea, and it's effects are unknown, but a decent amount of Qi can be found inside of it~. Starting bid of 50 gold! Set, ready, auction~."
I immediately bid 60 coins. This was the perfect gift for the girl after all. I mean, it just made so much sense! She's totally into ocean-like stuff, so this'd be perfect!
I had to fight for it for a while, and ended up spending 80 gold coins on it. I did still get it though, which made me really happy.
Several other bids came and go. Several men and women threw insults at each other and insulted other clans over items. I found it quite stupid how greedy some people can be. I mean, these folk here are all much, much wealthier then any common person. How can they still feel so greedy? Life is meant to be enjoyed, not abused and overused.
The girl did once join in on a bid fight. She really wanted a pair of earrings that granted the user an easier time using Qi, and they were shaped like tears. She ended up spending 150 gold coins on it, but she didn't seem too bitter about it.
"Okay gentlemen and ladies, here comes the big shot. Everybody ready for the last item on auction~?" People began to cheer, and she called out for someone to bring the object over.
Several people gasped loudly when they saw what it was. It was a snake magical beast, and it wasn't tamed, which meant it could still be bonded with someone. It is necessary to say that a person can only bound 2 magical beasts to himself through his/her life, so choosing the appropriate magical beast was essential.
"Okay, here is a possible saint-master level magical beast~. It was captured in the wild a couple of weeks ago, and is ready for bounding. Starting bid will be 200 gold coins~."
Several people began to bid. That was, until someone shouted out "500 gold coins from the Yan Mao sect. Please give us face and let us have this beast for our top student." Nobody dared to bid at that. The price was insane, and Yan Mao sect was extremely powerful too.
Nobody bid anything for a second, before a voice boomed out from the box next to mine.
"... 600 gold coins." Several people gasped and the guy who bid beforehand looked quite angry. He shouted "Know your place! You have no chance against our sect, so let us have this beast!"
I looked at the girl and found her staring at the man with disdain on her face. She then simply said "... Don't care." The guy was red in anger, but didn't bid higher. The auctioneer waited for another moment before saying "600 going once... 600 going twice... 600 going thrice... Sold~. The girl in box 23, come retrieve the beast after everything else has been properly given out~."
I was quite worried. The Yan Mao sect was the single most powerful sect in multiple cities, perhaps even more powerful then our own clan. I went and retrieved the Pearl of Oceans, then went outside to wait for the girl to arrive.
And arrive she did. The snake magical beast was silently following her behind her. Taking a good look at it, was quite the magical beast. It was 3 meters in lenght and 40cm wide.
As soon as she came outside the auction house, she began to walk towards me. I could hardly stop my beating heart, however it was forcefully cooled down when I noticed members of the Yan Mao sect begin to surround her. She ignored them and walked forward. One of them pushed her back, sending her on her back onto her magical beast.
I could hardly contain my anger, but her voice stopped me. "... Leave... or die..." The guys surrounding her laughed and the guy who had shouted at the auction screamed out "This is what happends to those who offend the Yan Mao sect! Men, seize her!"
I was furious inside. I couldn't do anything, as it would be really bad for our clan to make enemies of the Yan Mao sect. As I was trying to find a solution, the girl suddently got up, smiled widely, and casually began to walk towards the bidder.
The men tried to stop her, but she casually touched them on their arms and they began to scream. Everybody froze. The men's eyes then began to open wide and they screamed louder and louder, until they stopped, seemingly dead. The girl continued to stroll over to the bidder, who was quickly paling. The other men were a bit scared too, but still chose to charge at her.
The girl then put up her hand and began to slap away any grabs or punches the men sent her. Once she touched a man, he would begin to scream in pain and roll over. Then die.
She definetly wasn't straining herself either, on the opposite, she was smiling widely during the whole fight. Soon, all the men were dead or rolling on the ground, holding their chests.
The bidder was paling and trembling, and she begun to walk towards him again he shouted "Y-your offending the Yan Mao sect! You'll be..." She didn't give him time to finish as she grabbed him by the throat and he began to spasm almost immediately. White soon showed on his eyes, and she dropped him. Dead.
She turned and looked at the audience watching the fight. She bowed slightly and said "... Sorry... trouble..."
She then turned and casually walked away, just as she would have done even if a sect hadn't attacked her. I couldn't feel any Qi in her attacks, so I have absolutely no idea of what she did. I decided to hold back and wait for the trouble to settle in before approaching her once again.
