[Leviathan’s Pov[
I ask around and finally find the best Inn in the city. It didn’t look a bit bad. I entered and the first floor looked like a bar, so I assume upstairs are the rooms. There were quite a number of nicely-dressed people sitting and chatting around, and almost all turned to look at me as I entered. I ignored them and went over to the counter that seemed to be for registration. Since it was almost night, my plan was to take a good night rest here and maybe rent a room for a couple weeks, then hunt down monsters in the vicinity and eat their cores, cultivate and maybe get some servants to help me out. After all, I’d love for someone to help me do my hair in the morning, as by now it reached all the way down my back since I never bothered to cut it.
“… Room… two weeks…” I say to the receptionist, who nods and takes out a paper. “Please sign this. The room costs 50 silver a night, so for 14 nights, it’ll cost 7 gold.” I nod and add “…Meals?” She says “Ah, yes, those are included within the price so don’t worry.”
I take out the seven gold coins and give them to the girl. She takes them and puts them away in her pockets, then takes out a key and gives them to me. “Your room is upstairs, number 67. Do enjoy your stay.” She says with a sweet smile at the end. I’m sure men would fall victims to her smile, but unfortunately for her, I’m romantically challenged, so good luck with seducing me.
I go to the room she sent me in and enter. The room was quite nice, as it had a bathroom, a small kitchen, and a living/bed room. I neatly fold and put away my clothes before buying a set of pajamas from the Voice, then put all of the rest away. I nosedive into the bed and almost immediately fall asleep. How I missed a nice comfy bed… How long has it been since I slept on one.
However, a good night sleep was not meant for me, as I hear heavy knocking on my door, which wakes me up. Grumbling inside, I look at the window and find that the sun was somehow already midway through the skies. I guess you don’t notice as time passes when you sleep so nicely…
I go to open the door and a servant comes in with a tray of food. She puts them on a table and wordlessly leaves. How nice… I don’t even have to buy my own food… That does sound pretty good, though now my ‘Cooking Skills’ were somewhat wasted… And it did cost 5.000 soul essence… How sad…
After eating my meal, I dress up with a long-sleeved shirt, underwear (duh) and a pair of pants. I do like wearing dresses or skirts, but they’re a bit too… revealing, and I’m planning on fighting monsters… and probably wannabe rapists. And those clothes are definitely a no-go during fights.
Sighing to myself, I ascend the staircase and was greeted by quite the number of stares. I even heard a couple whistles. Ignore them, Leviathan, ignore them…
As I repeatedly say so in my mind, I was about to leave when two guys blocked my way. Are you seriously going to do this…? “Hehe, Hello lady. I’m the young master of the KanoKano clan, and it’d be good to follow me and my men.” I look behind the two men in front of me and see an… overly obese… to say the least, kiddo. He didn’t look older then 16, but he must have weighted at least three times a normal person. He’d make a nice meal for my monster form…
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
“… Leave. Now.” I say and my voice was extremely cold. The men themselves took a step back at my words, but the fatso didn’t seem to notice. “Hey now, how can you treat me, Yang KanoKano, like this! Men, get her!” As I was about to kill them, a voice boomed out from nowhere. “Yang, you scum, have you not learned your lesson when you tried picking on my sister? Do you truly want me to kill you!?”
I look at the source of the voice and find a handsome man. He was kinda tall, but still somewhat average. He had quite the muscles, but not enough to look stupid. Well-refined too. Is that your average Cultivator? I expect him to be a pretty high level…
“X-Xoi Kuan, how dare you call me scum! It’s your own sister’s fault for insulting me anyway!” He shouts, the two men turn from me to the man, and they begin to throw insults at each other. The Xoi guy then walks up the the two men and punches them, and they fall down holding their stomachs. The fatso pales and tries to run, but Xoi reaches him before he could do so and kicks him repeatedly. After he was satisfied, he turned to look at me, who still had a cold expression on my face.
“Everything’s alright young lady?” I nod at him and simply walk away. He looked like he wanted to say something else but held back. He did ask though “Young lady, may I know your name?”
I didn’t even look back as I said “… Leviathan. Leviathan Reaper.” He blinked a couple times and repeated the name. Looks like I got somebody to fall for me. Not that I care though.
I left the Inn and headed deeper inland. I searched for two hours, fishing for information, studying the local populace and occasionally buying jewels that caught my eye. After this, I had a plan set for the two weeks of my stay.
There would be an auction in 3 days, and I would definitely attend that. Before that though, I would go out and hunt down Magical Beasts (That’s what the idiots call the monsters) and sell their cores to the Voice, and hopefully buy myself some nice stuff. Cultivating would also become a lot slower, but I should still spend ~5 hours a day working on it. Then, after the auction, I’d focus on training to combine my style with the Venom-fruit, and hunt down even more magical beasts and save up about 80.000 essence to buy Triple-fruit wielding and the Lighting-fruit, which sounds extremely powerful.
I calculated my strength based on the people I saw. About 95% of the population looks civilian, with maybe 15% of that 95% being common soldiers or guards. The 5% remaining are cultivators and disciples of sects. These cultivators are almost always the offsprings of important clans or geniuses that got accepted in sects. Amongst these, I still have found none that I deem can defeat me, not even in my weaker human form. If I was to go on a rampage through this town, I doubt there’d be anyone capable of stopping me.
I spent the rest of the day in my room at the Inn, cultivating. I now had to try to condense the Qi inside of me into a more liquid form, rather then a gas, and make it go through my blood. This was… painful, to say the least, but I never once dared to go against the pain. I embraced it, as pain leads to strength.
As the new day rose up, I stopped cultivating and left the inn once again. Sleep was unnecessary for my body, but it helped my mind rest, so I took the chance and had spent the night working on my cultivation. To achieve the 7th rank, I’d have to fully convert my blood into liquid emperor’s dragon Qi, which was… hard. Very hard. This would although give me a huge boost in my already high regeneration rate, and it would turn my skin into something as strong as reinforced steel. Time to go beast-hunting I guess.
