75: Follow Miss Fennec – Starve Nine Times in Three Days!

A plush, oversized couch. Piles upon piles of enchanted fruits. Hell, they even had a juicer—with ice cubes in their juice!

Fine china, pampered kittens and puppies lounging lazily... and even a damn gaming console.

Luxurious beds with fluffy white wool blankets, and furniture they’d never seen before.

The sight of it all felt like a sucker punch to the gut for the ragtag crew living in their cramped cave like outcasts.

For a moment, they stood in stunned silence—much like the little match girl staring into the dream of a better life.

The once-bustling cave had fallen completely still.

“There’s no way normal natives could afford all that! Where the hell did he get so many supplies?!”

The harsh contrast between their miserable existence and Eirik's lavish setup gnawed at them like a festering wound.

“This isn’t just comfortable—it’s obscene! I don’t even live this well back in the real world! Waaaah…”

“Why are my cheeks cold? Oh, it’s tears! Hahaha!”

You know, poverty itself isn’t the real killer. It’s comparison that breaks people.

When everyone’s suffering equally, even the smallest blessing feels like a gift from heaven.

But when Eirik’s side is living like royalty, their so-called “simple joys” crumble into nothingness.

Selene stared at the half-eaten magical fruit in her hand, now tasteless.

“They feed their damn pets better fruit than we get… and here I thought I was living the good life…”

She clenched her jaw. "They’ve got a dog that’s eating better than me. A fucking dog!”

Her earlier smug satisfaction curdled into deep, shameful regret.

Then her eyes fell on Eirik’s companions—Violanda and Elvynna.

Those two were practically glowing, looking more stunning than ever. Meanwhile, the girls in the cave were pale, weak, and starving.

If not for the Elemental Spring keeping them barely alive, some of them would’ve already dropped dead from hunger.

And don’t even get started on appearances.

Elvynna and Violanda looked as if life had only made them more radiant. Of course, that only made everyone in the cave stew in jealousy.

The bitterness was palpable. Someone muttered sarcastically, “Big deal. The valley’s dangerous. A vine monster could wreck their place in seconds.”

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

“Yeah!” Fennec latched onto the idea with a forced laugh. “We may have it rough, but at least we’re safe! Hahaha!”

She knew she had to step in before morale completely shattered.

This Eirik guy was proving to be far more dangerous than she’d expected. Damn it, she had underestimated him!

Taking center stage in the cave, her charming figure commanding everyone’s attention, Fennec lifted their spirits.

“Listen up, girls! They’re only ahead of us because they got lucky with some supplies. But tomorrow, it’s our turn! We’ll raid that forest and loot the plane wreck. We’ll be living just as well as them in no time!”

Her words sparked a flicker of hope.

Yeah, the plane wreck! There had to be loads of supplies in there! Those modern people always knew how to live it up—just like Eirik.

But just as they started to feel a little better, a calm voice cut through the crowd.

“You mean these supplies?”

Liora’s latest message arrived, complete with a fresh batch of photos. Some she’d snapped herself, others taken from Elvynna and Violanda.

The images showed the wrecked plane’s remains—empty and looted. Giant vine monsters lay dead nearby, and every last usable item had been taken.

“I heard Eirik cleared out the entire wreck,” Liora added casually.

A suffocating silence fell over the cave.

Fennec could only stare, her mind blank with disbelief.

“…No way…”

Her last shred of hope had been snuffed out.

“WHAT THE HELL?! They cleaned it out already?! But we haven’t even started!”

Someone muttered under their breath: “Following Fennec—three days, nine meals missed!”

It was anonymous, but the message’s likes skyrocketed instantly.

“???”

Fennec clutched her face in frustration, feeling a deep existential despair wash over her.

How could Eirik be this good?! She wasn’t willing to admit defeat, but what else could she do?

That night, the small cave was filled with restless tossing, quiet sniffles, and waves of regret.

Meanwhile, in Eirik’s cozy cabin, Liora was laughing so hard she nearly fell into the outhouse pit.

“Gods, their envy and bitterness could kill me! This is the best entertainment I’ve had in ages!”

Though most of the girls in the cave preferred face-to-face conversations, a few still posted in the group chat—each message dripping with resentment.

And Liora loved it. She thrived on this kind of chaos, stirring the pot just to watch things unravel.

Truth be told, she had known about Eirik’s cabin for a while but hadn’t revealed herself. She’d waited until the perfect moment to swoop in and watch their fragile hearts shatter.

By the time she dragged herself out of the outhouse, it was late at night.

“Only one bed… How are four of us supposed to sleep?” Eirik asked, scratching his head.

Before he could finish the thought, Violanda and Elvynna swiftly latched onto his arms, one on each side.

Liora blinked.

Wait a second... Did I walk into some kind of... special party?

Elvynna shot her an annoyed look. “Don’t get any weird ideas. We’re just holding him to absorb elemental energy.”

Liora’s smirk only made Violanda’s temple throb with frustration.

The new girl might look calm, but she clearly had some very dirty thoughts.

“Ohhh, is that so?” Liora replied with mock innocence, looking almost… disappointed.

“Why is she disappointed? What’s wrong with this girl?!” Elvynna groaned internally, realizing Liora was far more troublesome than she seemed.

In the end, Elvynna and Violanda slept on either side of Eirik, while Liora curled up by his feet, all of them absorbing the precious energy they needed.

Nothing happened that night—well, nothing inappropriate. But Liora’s strength skyrocketed. Even she was shocked by how quickly she improved.

“So this is why everyone fights over Eirik. Having him is like having a golden ticket…” Liora mused.

From vagrant to paradise—just by being close to him.

If there was a next life, Liora vowed, she’d make damn sure to snag Eirik for herself.

The next morning, as she sipped fresh juice, deep in thought, a deafening boom echoed from outside the valley.

“…What the hell was that?”

Liora tensed, but Eirik and the others remained unfazed.

“It’s here,” Eirik said calmly. “The final challenge of this dungeon.”

They’d known all along that the vine monsters weren’t the island’s greatest threat.

The real danger had finally arrived.
