With Eirik by her side and the experience from previous simulations, Elvynna advanced at an astonishing rate.
In just a few years, she faced her first significant breakthrough in her life: the hurdle to Savant level! Once she crossed this threshold, she would gain long life and the freedom to explore the vast world, unbound and carefree.
She and Eirik could leave the academy and embark on adventures together, wielding enough power to protect themselves in a realm teeming with demons and monsters. This was the life Elvynna had always dreamed of.
Moreover, it would help her escape the predatory gazes of those women in the academy, their eyes gleaming with envy for her husband.
For someone with multiple simulation experiences, breaking through to Savant level should have been a mere formality. Yet, unexpectedly, disaster struck!
On a tranquil summer night, the moon shone brightly, and a gentle breeze stirred. Eirik stood protectively beside her as she consumed a potion to amplify her magical strength, attempting her breakthrough.
Elemental forces surged within her, coalescing powerfully. In an instant, she felt an inexplicable chill. It seemed to emanate from the distant horizon, rushing toward her like a tidal wave of magic!
“Elvynna, focus! Break through quickly; I’ll hold him off for now!”Eirik's voice was steady, but he felt a wave of concern. Someone had chosen this critical moment to strike at Elvynna? The power of the assailant was terrifying!
The magic surged like roaring waves, relentless and overwhelming. Eirik strained with all his might, barely managing to deflect the blow. Crack! The sound of shattering echoed as cracks spiderwebbed across his wand.
Blood trickled from his mouth, and a bitter taste filled his throat; one strike had left him severely wounded.
The attacker seemed to possess Savant level 2 or even 3 power. Gritting his teeth, Eirik looked up to see a woman clad in black armor, her cold eyes gleaming like frost as she approached.
“Silent Reapers, assassin number thirty-six, Raven, here to take your lives.” Her voice was emotionless, raspy and devoid of warmth.

In that moment, those observing Elvynna in the world chat erupted in chatter.
“Is this triggering a new plotline?”
“No way! Did some shameless female player hire an assassin?”
“Wait, she said 'you two'—she's targeting both of them!”
It's clear that the female players won't try to kill Eirik.
“Silent Reapers? That assassin organization is notorious in the Dawnstar Dynasty. Hiring them isn’t cheap.”
Concern rippled through the crowd for Elvynna. Yet some felt a flicker of excitement; after all, if she fell, it might offer them an opportunity! But ,If a female player hired an assassinthis,it set a dangerous precedent—if someone got their hands on Eirik, known as the golden card, , it would invite chaos and betrayal.
Today it was Elvynna; who would it be tomorrow? Yet, Elvynna sensed that this assassination attempt had nothing to do with other female players. This assassin was specifically targeting her—an inevitable trial she must face.
“I’m heading to the scene to help!” Violanda declared, her brows furrowed. She realized that she might become the primary suspect; could someone be trying to frame her?
She couldn't allow Eirik to think she was behind an attempt on his wife's life. That would ruin her chances with him!
But as fate would have it, she was not in the city but in a nearby forbidden area of the demon realm, needing time to arrive…
Meanwhile, the battle raged on. Eirik, only a Practitioner level 9, stood no chance against Raven. He barely lasted a few minutes before being flung back, bloodied and on the verge of unconsciousness.
“Time should be enough…” Eirik’s gaze remained fierce as he focused on the room.
Just then, a brilliant light erupted. Elvynna emerged, radiating golden energy like a celestial being. She had successfully broken through!
“Eirik!” Elvynna called, relieved to see he was merely injured. But Raven was closing in, short sword drawn.
Raven was a Savant level 3; Elvynna, having just reached level 1, was no match and faced instant death. Level 3 Savants wielded domains that could alter the very laws of the world around them. What could anyone do against that?
But Elvynna was no ordinary individual. With memories from her past lives, her combat skills exceeded her level.
To her surprise, she held her ground against the powerful woman in a fierce clash. Yet, she was merely hanging on.
Level 2 Savants could regenerate even with a sliver of health; against a level 3, Elvynna's chances of defeating her were slim.
As the battle continued, a thunderous light flashed across the horizon.
With a crackle of wind and thunder, Violanda’s graceful form appeared, descending with massive hands that blotted out the sky, reaching for the assassin!
Boom!
Raven stood no chance against Violanda’s might. With a single gesture, the black-armored killer was reduced to a puddle of gore.
Violanda glanced at the wounded Elvynna and Eirik with a hint of regret.
“Oh, Violanda, how foolish of you. In moments like this, you should have found an excuse to delay, letting Elvynna meet her end—after all, it’s just a simulation. No guilt required…”
But proving herself to Eirik was also rewarding.
“The Silent Reapers' assassin, Raven…”
Elvynna's eyes fell on a remnant of Raven's clothing, deep in thought.
“I remember now—the one who tried to kill me was Princess Scarlett of Crimson Hollow from the Dawnstar Dynasty.”
Princess Scarlett?!
“If I recall correctly, she’s the one who stole your Regal Bone of the Ancients, right?”
Pixie inquired, her curiosity piqued.
Scarlett, the most favored princess of the Dawnstar Dynasty, was renowned for her beauty and talent, drawing suitors from far and wide.
