“It knows?! Another talking monster!? Impossible! I refuse to believe it! This must be a trick! A trick I say!”
“KAKAKA! A trick you say? Why don’t you come find out? Come!Commmmmmmme! Let me tear your flesh apart, break your bones and sculpt out your brain and eat it for dinner!”
Oh boy, he’s at it again, truly a battle junkie, a very bloodthirsty one at that.
“Very well, monster! I’ll show you what a gold can do!”
Wait! Gold? Hmm, Kölgə was only on the high end of common. Oh well, he won’t survive but he’ll definitely teach the greedy old man a lesson, maybe even force him to retreat. I wouldn’t mind, since I didn’t have a proper boss for floor two yet.
There was a burst of azure flames and he was gone, coming out right behind Kölgə. A claw made of azure flames flashed into being and shot towards Kölgə’s exposed back. The boss monster suddenly blinked out of being in a puff of liquid darkness.
Before the old man could react, a tail traveling at supersonic speeds connected with his left arm. His body flipped mid air and crashed into the walls like a ragdoll shot from a cannon a second later.
To my utter shock and horror, the man got up and laughed.
“HAHAHAH! Wonderful! I was afraid that it wouldn’t be real but it was! You have quite a bit of power too! I’m sure there’s more! I’ll stop holding back now, let’s have a real fight!”
Oh no! He baited him, this sly old man!
Azure fire burst from his form, rapidly spreading out in swaying waves. The flames attempted to eat everything, the stone, the air, even the enchantments! They stayed strong though, this was a boss room for a reason.
“Hoh? The dungeon’s unnatural magics resists my flames? Interesting! Let’s see how long that lasts!”
Was this guy trying to kill me or Kölgə? Suddenly I’m not too sure, the darkness around Kölgə twisted in response to the encroaching azure flames and formed a dome around him. Just in time too, the old man’s flame washed over Kölgə's dome like water, it stretched and contracted, searching for any little opening.
“Hmph! Do you think that will stop me!?”

The azure flames suddenly twisted and became hot, like really hot. So hot that Kölgə was forced to exit the dome because if he stayed any longer he’d be cooked, quite literally.
I was tempted to help him out but I knew Kölgə wouldn’t like that, he was a very proud creature and was eternally loyal. Because of this he loved to prove himself to me, even in the smallest ways.
It might not look like it but this was a very big opportunity for him, he’d learn what fighting opponents that were vastly stronger than him was like. He would also die peacefully, knowing that he died in service to me, any bit of help would make him feel inadequate and undeserving of his role.
And so, I simply watched.
Liquid azure flames gushed in as soon as he broke the dome. With a powerful kick he was off the scorching ground, darkness twisted around him and he was gone from the old man’s sight.
“Where are you! You stupid rat!? Give me a good fight! Stop using petty tricks! Where is your big talk? Why don’t you show your power now!?”
There was no reply, what angle was Kölgə playing at? He wasn’t the type to hide and sit around, he loved the thrill of ripping his enemies apart, what was he doing?
As the seconds ticked by the man only grew more infuriated, with a curse flames gushed out of him, filling the entire floor before climbing up the walls, then the ceiling.
Just how much energy did this monster have to be doing this so casually? Was he even human? Out of curiosity I peeked at his soul and reeled back in fright. I felt something let me through only to nip at my soul, or perception, what was I even using to see?
I didn’t know, but I suddenly didn’t feel like checking his soul anymore. It was soaked in that unknown energy that was constantly seeping into his flames, empowering them somehow. It was rapidly depleting though.
When the flames were about to cover the entire ceiling, Kölgə dropped down, landing on the old man who was totally unprepared to have 900 pounds fall on him. It didn’t do much damage, though I suspected that wasn’t what Kölgə wanted.
The encroaching flames instantly vanished as the man lost concentration and Kölgə’s body began to ripple and pop as he activated his adrenaline ability, his hand blurred as it shot forward like a bullet, cleanly passing through his chest, leaving a fist-sized hole there.
His form blurred again as his finger moved, jamming straight into the old man’s working eye, it popped like a watermelon, spraying blood and gray matter everywhere.
“AHHHHHHHHH! I’LL KILL YOU! I’LL KILL YOU I’LL. KILL. YOU. DUNGEON [####]!!”
The world slowed, color draining away as the eyepatch on the old man’s left eye disintegrated, revealing a cold and detached and utterly inhuman eye that burned with azure flames.
Reality twisted as a clawed hand of shifting colors and a kaleidoscope of twisted and bent fractals pulled its way out of the man’s eye.
My mind struggled to comprehend what I was seeing.
{{I tire of this waiting game, take his fragment and the dwarf’s and wait until the others reveal themselves, [####], the gods are catching on, we cannot disappoint father!}}
My mind broke.
‘aw57892098765267890-20987#$%^%$!’
Reality splintered as a hand attached to a claw wove itself into existence, its shape indescribable and incomprehensible by all.
<[NO.]>
It spoke, and reality was overrun by glitched blue light.
………
When the flames were about to cover the entire ceiling, Kölgə dropped down, landing on the old man who was totally unprepared to have 900 pounds fall on him. It didn’t do much damage, though I suspected that wasn’t what Kölgə wanted.
The man’s head suddenly shot up and he grinned.
“Ha! Got you!”
There was a burst of azure flames and Kölgə’s body was no more.
