The illusion worked! Quite marvelously too I still had no idea how to breathe life into inanimate objects but they didn’t need to know that. I was surprised when I saw Pal among them but that was to be expected, he was the first to witness my greatness, after all.
The dwarf had changed though, I couldn’t see his soul at all. Only bits and pieces of his body that were full of an unknown energy that I couldn’t identify.
The same went for the old man as well though he had so much that it gave off an invisible pressure that pressed against my senses greatly, hindering my ability to gain any information about him.
The rest of the party had a mix of soul essence and the unknown energy coursing through them, I had no issues seeing through them as their souls mounted little resistance.
I had no frame of reference for their strength though, for all I knew these guys would absolutely demolish me.
I was intrigued by this new energy though, why didn’t I see it before? And why do some have it while others do not? What’s its name?
“Gather up! We may have lost one but we can still do it! We’ll replace him with a silver that is coming from the city.”
What? That wasn’t enough to break them? I mean that was good and all but I was still surprised, I intended to scare them off to give me enough time to fix up some bugs but oh well, the looting system was complete, mostly.
My only hope is that they don’t make it past the second floor. Otherwise they’ll be disappointed, the third floor wasn’t even half done yet and I kept getting ideas on how to improve it.
I resisted the temptation though, I would never finish the floor if I kept remodeling it after every good idea I had.
The silver in question arrived in what could only be described as a magical steampunk cart with mechanical horses. It was a wild contraption that I struggled to take my eyes off, everything about it screamed cyberpunk fantasy and I wanted it, no I NEEDED it.
Seeing such a wild contraption made me contemplate the nature of the world I was reborn in. Maybe not so typical after all? This was high magitech shit and would require a lot of infrastructure or magic to build, and a lot of money too.

Or at least I thought so, for all I know they could just be willing them into existence with pure magic, which made the prospect even more scary.
I made a mental note to send out creatures to observe the outside world more later and returned my attention to the present.
The flying carriage descended, mechanical horses diving down and landing smoothly on the soil near my entrance. There was a flash of light and they stilled, losing all their momentum as they made contact with the earth.
Huh, that was some neat magic.
From the carriage emerged a familiar face, it was the crazy-
Glitched blue light split apart reality and the sky swung open like an old door, from the wound in the world emerged an eye and a hand, glittering in nonexistent light.
My mind froze, then it broke.

[THANKS FOR THE MEAL, YOU ARE CLOSE BUT OH SO FAR. HAVE FUN, #####]
There was a crack, and the world was consumed by glitched blue light.
………..
The flying carriage descended, mechanical horses diving down and landing smoothly on the soil near my entrance. There was a flash of light and they stilled, losing all their momentum as they made contact with the earth.
Huh, that was some neat magic.
From the carriage emerged a familiar face, it was Sero!
She was only silver rank? I thought she was a bit higher to be honest, considering the power she displayed. Were the ranks really that hard to climb? I couldn’t say, I didn’t have enough info on their rank system now how they ranked up in the first place, still, it was surprising.
The old man made a respectful bow, which made Sero frown in annoyance but accepted it nonetheless.
“Introducing High Noble Sero Brimstone, heir to the house of Brimstone and youngest silver ranker in the Sulust continent, breaking through at only 18.”
Ohhh, she’s a genius! Maybe? Judging from her accomplishments and the shocked faces of everyone my guess was correct.
Her face managed to morph even more, her expression practically changing into the epitome of annoyance itself. It was clear her achievements made normal life hard for her.
Gee, it must be nice, living the life of a genius. I wonder what it's like, maybe I’ll invent some mind magic just for that, or I could just ask Leburt, the rat was a paragon among geniuses when it came to soul magic.
It was only due to him did I manage to crack the secret behind elemental souls, my botched attempt at creating attributed magic was close to how the soul did it but was so far off that it would've been impossible to make elemental magic compatible with human souls without Leburt’s help.
The only reason my magic worked with my monsters was because they were mine, and the fact that I was a god in my dungeon, most rules don’t apply to me. It wasn’t true elemental magic though, it only had my understanding of the element, not the soul so it wasn’t as deep.
With the loot system out of the way that was my next target then I’d just have to make the monster cores and some other events for the floor and it would be complete. Hopefully, life always had a way of screwing you over when things went too smooth.
Anyway, time to watch this delve! I couldn’t wait to see their reaction to the changes I made inside and all the new things I added!
“Let’s go!”
