A bag of copper jingled away as it scrapped against Quartz legs. This was his first payday, at least in this life, not that he recalled if he ever had one in his former. Trees danced past his eyes, as he made his way back to his training spot.
“I never did try to see what would happen if I made a symbol from pure mana.” Having erased the markings on his right palm, Quartz got to work gathering pure mana and forming symbols. (A simple circle would do for now.) It was only after finishing, that he realize his mistake. “If I trace it with pure mana, will it not just be erased?” Since he was unable to trace it with pure mana, he choose instead to test electric mana. A ball of pure mana launched from his hand, and then collided with a mid size rock. The result was not what he was expecting.
The rock now hovered in mid air. Quartz circled his hands slowly around this floating object first under, then over, and finally at each end. The hairs on his arms raised slightly as a slight jolt of static made itself known. “This is a magnetic spell.” With this new knowledge, the lines for his flight spell vanished, as he replaced them with pure mana ones instead, although he kept some of the wind mana symbols for movement. While he was doing so, he was not focusing enough and his hand slipped, causing the mote of pure mana to land an engrave a symbol upon a stick behind himself.

Quartz gaze became fixated on this object. “No way! I can put symbols on objects!” Since the stick was a cylinder, he began to weave curved lines all around it. The finished product was a coil of pure mana. Tracing it with wisps of electrical mana, Quartz anticipation grow exponentially.
A hovering stick stood a few inches away from Quartz’s stomach. It was rather cool, but he could not see a practical use for this. The base of his feet pressed against the stick’s, as hi kicked it. The force of the impact was not that great, however, the sticks momentum was greater than it would have been normally. A deep chuckle bellowed out from his stomach, as he realized the implications. “This could be fun in a fight.” (I wonder what else could be done with objects and mana.)
