POV Narrator
In the sky, between the Colossus and the Gods, a being materialises from thin air. It doesn’t appear to be any gender, but its beauty is unquestionable. Its eyes rest on the Colossus’ crouched figure, a soft, yet commanding voice flows from its lips, “I said stand up, there’s no reason to be sad.”.
“Why, Zohn’s clearly dead.” The Colossus retorts back, his voice almost lifeless. A smile forms on the being’s face. In the same kind voice, it replies, “Yes, Zohn’s body is dead, that’s a fact, but his soul isn’t. All those Ages ago, when he made his fateful vow, he was granted immortality when he’s close to you. His body stopped ageing and his soul was also linked to yours.”.
“Do you know what this means Col?” It asks calmly. The Colossus shakes its head. “It means that as long as you are alive, then so is Zohn.” the being replies. The Colossus still looks confused, his mind filled with doubt. With some hesitance, the Colossus asks, “How do you know all of this, I’ve never met you before? Who are you?”.
A small laugh escapes the beings list as it replies, “My dear child, I’ve always been with you, from the day you were born until now. I’ve been guiding you throughout every step of your journey, leading you on the right path towards your dream. I’m Fate, after all.”.
The Colossus’ eyes shine with a glimmer of hope; in a wavering voice, he asks, “If what you’ve said is true, then why is Zohn still motionless?”. Patiently, Fate answers, “Zohn gave you all of his spirit-essence, allowing you to wake up early from your evolution, but it doesn’t come without a cost. As part of the price for your powers, you must go into hibernation for a thousand years, but Zohn is now paying the remaining cost.”.
“So, he will wake up one day?” the Colossus asks excitedly. “Exactly.” Fate replies calmly. The Colossus’ eyes brims with newfound happiness, but a small frown form on his granite face. In a determined tone, he asks, “The last question I have is, why help me? I wasn’t the only colossus in the first age, but I seem to be the last one left.”.
With a smile, Fate answers, “Of all my first children, only you showed potential. You had a dream so grand, that it inspired my own. But, to achieve your dream without any hardship isn’t proper. You are part of my grand dream and finally, both our dreams are about to be realized.”. The frown remains on the Colossus face, but he doesn’t inquire further; his gaze softens as it returns towards Zohn’s motionless body.
Inside the Colossus’ mind, a single thought reigns prominent, “I’ll wait until you wake up Zohn, it doesn’t matter how long it takes. No matter what happens in the future, we’ll never be separated. We are companions, are we not?”.

Fate’s eyes turn towards the group of floating Gods, their faces locked with pure shock. With its ever-calm voice, Fate says to the Gods, “My loyal helpers, the time has finally come.”. From the Gods, the voice suddenly asks, “Who are you really?! I’ve never heard of any ‘Fate’ before.”.
Fate’s gaze remains calm as it answers, “You’ve always been a paranoid child, hiding away in your own light. Well, you’ve done your job, so I won’t complain. For who I am… isn’t it obvious? I’m the creator of the system, the ever-present guide in everyone’s lives. Through the system, I’ve guided each of you and you’ve all done a tremendous job.”.
The Gods’ faces flash with disbelief; their minds, unable to accept the truth. His words stuttering, the voice asks, “You’re the designs?!”. “Yes, I created the designs to guide you. If I ordered you in person then you wouldn't have been cooperative. But this last step is too important for such an indirect method.” Fate explains.
With a small smile, Fate continues, “In the past, you’ve blindly followed my designs, but a small explanation is needed for you all to properly help me with the final step. The cycle of Ages hasn’t been without reason, to realise my dream of a perfect world, trial runs were needed. Each Age harboured unique aspects of the perfect world and through repeated experimentation, these aspects were perfected.”.
A hum of conversation floods the group of Gods, a hundred different questions festering between them. Without missing a beat, Fate continues, “There will be a time for questions later, now is the time to act. This Age’s inhabitants have died out and the test has come to an end. I won’t allow any delay, so the preparations will begin immediately.”.
“Do not despair, my obedient children, you also have your place in this perfect world; together we’ll guide its inhabitants on their destiny. But first, one final piece must be put in place. Now go, I’ve already sent each of you your list of tasks.”. Without hesitation, the Gods disappear into different directions.
Fate’s gaze returns to the Colossus. Its sweet voice, finding its way in the Colossus’ ears, “Come, child. It’s time to realise your dream.”. The Colossus’ eyes remain fixed on Zohn, but he agrees with a small nod. A wide smile stretches over Fate’s peerless face.
Effortlessly, Fate stretches its hands towards the Colossus and says, “For a dream so big, all you need is a tiny push from a helping hand.”. Suddenly, the Colossus lifts out of the ocean, its enormous body floating effortlessly in the sky. “Now, go.” Fate commands calmly.
Like a shooting star, the Colossus flies into the sky, its body exiting the planet’s atmosphere. Around the world, his body hovers in orbit. Instinctively, the Colossus pulls himself into a ball with Zohn at the centre.
Fate’s eyes shine as it stares at the Colossus’s orbiting figure. In a low whisper, Fate mumbles, “One last push...”. In orbit, the Colossus’ figure grows exponentially in size, its form changing until it’s a perfect sphere. With a nod, Fate says happily, “Now, everything is in place. As the moon, my eldest child can forever protect this perfect world. He’ll even have all the spirits to keep him company.”.
