Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Star Han decided to use this summer vacation to study hard and make up for his poor academic performance last semester. Due to his focus on stock trading, his schoolwork suffered greatly. English, in particular, was a mess. Recognizing the importance of English in the modern world, Star Han made up his mind to do his best to improve it. So, he decided not to engage in stock trading during the summer vacation. His sole aim was to study English well.

Star Han also managed to arrange Gui Yan's judo training. She had classes three days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They had two months of training, coinciding with the summer vacation, and whenever they had free time, they would study English together.

Yu Ya had a great interest in judo. Every time she came back from training, she was filled with excitement and couldn't stop talking about it. She even set up a practice dummy in her room and would practice her moves whenever she had free time. Sometimes she would even use Star Han as a sparring partner. Of course, as a beginner, she was no match for Star Han, an experienced practitioner, but she was making rapid progress. She became more and more skilled in her practice. Star Han didn't pay much attention to her progress but suggested that she should not forget to practice the Clear Mind Decision along with judo.

During the summer vacation, Star Han spent most of his time studying English in his room. He would occasionally buy stocks and make some money, but nothing significant. When he was bored, he would browse the internet, check stock market trends, discuss and chat with others. Nothing significant happened during the summer vacation. Sometimes, he would practice martial arts with Yu Ya, but only when Gui Yan was not around.

However, he soon found it boring to stay in one place all the time. Star Han started to consider going out and having some fun. Luckily, there was a nationally renowned tourist city nearby. Star Han informed Yu Ya about his plan, but she couldn't join him due to her judo training. Gui Yan was busy with her design work and couldn't spare any time either. So, Star Han decided to go alone to relieve his boredom.

He bought a soft sleeper ticket, which provided the best service. There weren't many people in the carriage. Hehe, at this moment, the value of money was clearly evident.

Soon, when Star Han found his seat, he realized that he boarded the train midway, and the others had already settled in. They didn't pay much attention to him. Perhaps these people were accustomed to looking up, considering themselves rich and noble. They didn't even notice Star Han's arrival. However, there was one middle-aged man who saw Star Han and nodded to greet him. The middle-aged man seemed like an extraordinary person, exuding a natural aura of wealth and not the ostentatiousness of the nouveau riche. Although Star Han didn't care much about others' attitudes, he felt a slight fondness towards him. He greeted the man but didn't intend to engage in a lengthy conversation. After all, they would part ways once they arrived at their destinations, and they might never meet again. Moreover, Star Han wasn't in the habit of initiating conversations with strangers.

Since the journey home would take a long time, Star Han had prepared several books to read on the train. After settling in, he started reading the new books he had just bought. They were all economics books that interested Star Han. However, they were theoretical and quite dry. Star Han didn't read for long before putting the books aside and gazing out of the window, allowing his mind to rest for a while.

The middle-aged man who had greeted Star Han seemed interested in the books he was reading. When Star Han put the books aside, he heard a polite voice saying, "Excuse me, can I borrow your books to read?"

"Of course, I bought several books," Star Han replied and casually handed the books to the middle-aged man.

"Thank you!" the man said politely.

"No problem," Star Han replied indifferently and continued gazing at the scenery outside the window.

Apparently, the middle-aged man's interest wasn't solely in the books. He flipped through them for a while and returned them to Star Han shortly after. He said, "Thank you, here are your books back. Are you genuinely interested in these books?"

"Well, I guess so. I enjoy studying economic issues. However, I feel that these books are too theoretical and not suitable for practical application," Star Han replied casually.

"Is that so? Oh, I have the same feeling. I think some of these authors tend to be too theoretical and lack practicality," the middle-aged man responded, showing a growing interest in the conversation. It seemed like they had a similar perspective.

"Indeed, the market economy is constantly changing, and there are no fixed rules. Some books tend to be overly systematic, making it easy for people to become dogmatic. It's difficult to grasp the fleeting opportunities in the business world," Star Han remarked, observing the middle-aged man's wealth and demeanor. He was almost certain that the man was a successful entrepreneur.

"Hehe, we seem to share similar views. It's quite surprising to find someone with such remarkable insights at such a young age. It's true that new talents emerge incessantly," the middle-aged man sighed.

"It's not like that. When it comes to experience, you are the impressive one. We are just talking casually. We can't compare to those who have achieved substantial success," Star Han humbly replied.

"You are too modest. Your insights indicate that your experience is extraordinary. Only those who have personally experienced it can have such insights. We, the older generation, are indeed getting old. It's time for your generation to take the lead," the middle-aged man said, sighing.

"You're too humble," Star Han replied, feeling touched by his words.

"Ah, let's not talk about that. Today is a rare encounter with a young talent, so let's get to know each other. Let me introduce myself first. I'm Tang Jinxiong, currently running a company. And you? You look quite young, under 25, I assume?" asked Tang Jinxiong.

Upon hearing Tang Jinxiong's name, Star Han immediately remembered who he was. In the financial world of the south, few people didn't know this name. Star Han didn't expect to meet such a prominent figure today.

Tang Jinxiong was the owner, or more elegantly referred to as the legal representative, of Feiyang Company. Feiyang Company was almost single-handedly established by him and was the culmination of his life's efforts. When it came to Feiyang Company, hardly anyone in the south was unaware of it. The company primarily focused on real estate business and had subsidiary companies engaged in other businesses as well. Feiyang Company had branches in almost every major and minor city in the south. Tang Jinxiong's assets could be considered astronomical.

Hearing Tang Jinxiong's question, Star Han replied, "Yes, I'm still a student. I dabble in stocks in my spare time." Star Han didn't know why, but he felt there was no need to hide anything in front of Tang Jinxiong.

"Ah, that's good. Being able to earn money to support yourself is great. Oh, I'm about to reach my destination. Here's my business card. If you need anything in the future, you can contact me. By the way, which station are you getting off at?" Tang Jinxiong said as he handed Star Han a business card.

Star Han received it with both hands, carefully put it in his pocket, and replied, "I'm getting off at the same station. I came here today to have some fun."

"Oh, I didn't expect us to get off at the same station. It seems like fate has brought us together. After we get off, let me treat you to a meal. Consider it a celebration for meeting a young talent like you. Haha," Tang Jinxiong said amiably.

"Why should you treat me? You're so busy, and it would take up your time," Star Han said.

"It's alright. I'm out here to have fun too. I didn't bring anyone with me because I wanted some peace and quiet, to take a break from work. I don't have anything urgent to attend to now, so don't refuse," Tang Jinxiong felt a sense of closeness to the young man and wanted to get closer.

"Alright, then I'll accept your kind offer," Star Han agreed.

"Great, that's settled!" Tang Jinxiong said with a smile.

Just as they got off the train, a large group of people came to greet Tang Jinxiong at the station. Tang Jinxiong looked at them and sighed, "You see, I intentionally didn't bring many people this time, but they still showed up. It's hard to have a moment of peace."

Among the people who came to greet him, one person stepped forward cautiously, greeted Tang Jinxiong, and said, "Mr. Tang, Mr. Liu informed me that you would be coming here. I have prepared everything for you. Are you going to a hotel or a guesthouse?"

The person mentioned as Mr. Liu was his assistant, Liu Qiming. Tang Jinxiong felt that he was being too meddlesome, but he couldn't say anything in front of his subordinates. He simply pointed at Star Han and said, "Go to a hotel. I want to treat this new acquaintance to a meal."

Upon hearing this, the person greeted Star Han and said many polite words.

Star Han knew that it was Tang Jinxiong's face at play; otherwise, these managers and directors wouldn't bother with a poor student like him. Although he wasn't poor, in their eyes, he must be.

Star Han and Tang Jinxiong sat in the same car, with Tang Jinxiong in the front. The car left the train station and quickly headed towards the best hotel in the city. The car seemed quite expensive, but Star Han couldn't determine its value. However, judging by the comfort of the ride, he could sense its quality. The journey didn't seem short; they had been driving for about ten minutes and still hadn't arrived. During the journey, Star Han and Tang Jinxiong engaged in casual conversation.

Suddenly, the car slowed down and came to a stop. Star Han looked ahead and saw a large truck blocking the road. He immediately felt uneasy and opened the car door to see what was happening. The driver had already gotten out of the car.

At that moment, two individuals jumped down from the truck, each holding a gun, one of which was a submachine gun. Star Han quickly realized the situation, crouched down, and hid under the seat, while also pushing Tang Jinxiong, who hadn't reacted yet, to take cover behind the cushion. As soon as they hid, they heard gunshots and the screams of the driver. Bullets flew over their heads, most of them hitting the cushion.

At the same time, the people in the car behind them had also arrived. One of the assailants began shooting at the vehicles behind, while the other approached the car where Star Han and Tang Jinxiong were. It was evident that they intended to kill Tang Jinxiong. Seeing this, Star Han couldn't help but feel anxious. However, the effects of the Clear Heart Decision manifested at this moment. Although he was somewhat anxious, he remained calm. He looked around the car, searching for any usable weapon. Suddenly, he spotted a fruit knife. How it got there, only heaven knew, but Star Han felt relieved. It seemed that there was hope for him to save his own life. He had previously practiced throwing knives, but he didn't know if he could still do it after so much time had passed. He reached out and grabbed the knife, quietly waiting for the gunman to approach. The man wore a mask and approached the car with agile steps.

Star Han measured the distance between them: twenty steps, ten steps. It was clear that the man intended to get closer before shooting. When the man was five steps away, Star Han used all his strength to throw the fruit knife at the man's neck. The knife drew a perfect arc and embedded itself in the man's neck. The man obviously hadn't expected such a turn of events and was completely unprepared. The force behind the knife was indeed formidable. After being struck, the man couldn't do anything. He didn't even have a chance to say a word before he met his demise.

The other man was taken aback when he witnessed this. He didn't dare to approach the car where Star Han and Tang Jinxiong were. He fired a few shots from a distance and then ran back to the truck, which immediately sped away, leaving behind a scene of chaos. It was at this moment that Tang Jinxiong regained his composure, sat up again, and although his face was pale, he no longer showed signs of panic. He looked at Star Han and said, "Thanks to you, I'm alive. I won't forget this great favor. I know you're not someone who values money, so I won't mention any monetary rewards. But if you ever need anything in the future, don't hesitate to find me. As long as it's within my power, I will help you."

At this time, the people from the other cars arrived. They hadn't suffered any casualties, just a few minor injuries. They quickly apologized and expressed their gratitude for their fortunate escape, praising Star Han's extraordinary skills. One person went to the deceased gunman to examine the situation. The fruit knife had completely pierced the man's neck. It required great strength and skill to achieve that.

At this point, Star Han said, "I don't want others to know that I killed this gunman. I don't want to invite trouble."

"No problem, I will make sure they don't talk about this matter. I'll take care of it with the police as well. I won't involve you," Tang Jinxiong assured him.

"I appreciate your efforts. It's a small matter, not worth mentioning. I can see that you're not in the mood for a meal now. Where are you heading? I can have someone escort you. In the future, I will repay you for today's favor," Tang Jinxiong said.

Star Han realized that Tang Jinxiong had some matters to attend to. He didn't have the time to bother him, so he bid him farewell. However, he firmly declined the offer of an escort because he wanted to enjoy himself alone without any inconvenience.

Star Han had a great time in that city. He visited the famous places and didn't have any other places to go. Finally, as the start of the new semester approached, he prepared to return home. During this period, Tang Jinxiong didn't contact him.

The journey back home was peaceful.

Star Han returned home and shared the gifts with Gui Yan and Yu Ya. He quickly forgot about the events on the road and happily spent a few days at home.
