In the blink of an eye, summer vacation was approaching. Star Han asked Yu Ya about her plans for the vacation. Yu Ya thought for a moment and said she wanted to study English because her English skills were worse than the others in her class. Star Han nodded and said, "That's true. English is very important nowadays, but my English is not that good either. I haven't even passed the CET-4 exam. I also want to improve my English during the summer vacation. I can't help you much. How about I hire a good tutor for you?"
"I'll listen to you, Brother," Yu Ya agreed.
"Besides studying English, what else do you want to do? You can't just focus on studying. It's not good to neglect leisure and rest," Star Han asked.
"Well, I also want to learn some self-defense skills from you. Once I become good at it, I won't be afraid of bullies anymore. Brother, can you teach me?" Yu Ya suddenly remembered.
"Well, I can't really teach you that. My fighting skills were gained from actual fights. How can I teach you? Should I beat you up every day? I can't bring myself to do that. If you really want to learn, I can take you to learn judo or karate. How about that?" Star Han suggested.
"Okay, I'll learn martial arts and academics at the same time. The best of both worlds," Yu Ya agreed without hesitation. Her swift response left Star Han puzzled.
With improved relationships with his classmates, Star Han also wanted to make some friends in the business world since he planned to enter that field in the future. Coincidentally, the Stock Exchange invited him to attend an annual gathering of stock traders. He hadn't attended before, but this time he had some free time, so he decided to go and meet some new people.
The gathering took place in a large hotel, with participants of all ages and genders. After the necessary formalities, it was time for free conversation. Since Star Han was a newcomer and unfamiliar with the big players, he sat alone in a corner, sipping his drink and observing the conversations. While he was watching, someone approached him and said, "Seems like you're bored too."
"Oh, it's my first time here, and I don't know anyone, so I'm alone. Do you find it boring?" Star Han replied, glancing at the person. He was a young man around Star Han's age, maybe a bit older.
"Oh, you're a newbie. No wonder I don't know you. I practically know everyone here. Look at this, there's not a single beauty around, just a bunch of old men. It's all about old acquaintances. What's there to talk about? It's ridiculous," the young man complained.
"Well, why did you come then?" Star Han curiously asked.
"I came to see if there are any newcomers worth knowing, like you. We meet today, so I consider it fate. Let's get acquainted. I'm Zeng Mingzhi, a professional stock trader," the man introduced himself, extending his hand.
"Oh, I'm Star Han, just an amateur enthusiast," Star Han shook his hand and replied.
"Ah, you're Star Han! Do you know how mysterious you are? We couldn't figure out who you were for the longest time. And you're quite talented! I've read your comments on the forums, very insightful," Zeng Mingzhi praised.
"It's nothing. I'm just an amateur. I can't compare to you professional experts," Star Han modestly responded.
"Alright, let's not talk about that. Let's have a toast and get to know each other," Zeng Mingzhi suggested enthusiastically.
"Sure, cheers," Star Han agreed.
They emptied their glasses. Zeng Mingzhi looked around and said, "Brother, let's find a better place to chat."
"Is that suitable?" Star Han asked.
"No problem at all. This gathering is just a waste of time. Let's go," Zeng Mingzhi said, taking Star Han's hand and leading him outside.
Once outside, Zeng Mingzhi asked, "Do you have a car? Did you drive here?"
"I don't have a car yet," Star Han replied.
"Oh, then let's take mine. It's more convenient with a car. Besides, buying a good car doesn't cost much," Zeng Mingzhi suggested.
With that, they got into Zeng Mingzhi's Mercedes and drove in another direction.
"We're heading to a hotel with a more charming atmosphere. You'll see when we get there. Since we clicked so well today, I'll treat you," Zeng Mingzhi said generously.
After a while, they arrived at another hotel, which had a better atmosphere than the previous one. The decoration was more elegant. Zeng Mingzhi seemed to be a regular here, as the headwaiter immediately said, "Oh, Zeng Zong, it's been a while since you've visited us."
"Enough with the small talk. Same private room as last time, and bring two ladies with you. This is my new acquaintance," Zeng Mingzhi instructed.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
"Got it, Zeng Zong. You can rest assured," the headwaiter led them to a private room.
Shortly after, two ladies arrived. Star Han felt something was off, but when he saw them enter, he became even more uneasy. One of the ladies was familiar to him; she was from their school. Her name seemed to be Gui Yan, and she wasn't in the same department as Star Han. She studied fashion design and had quite a reputation in school, having won awards in some fashion design competitions. They had met a few times on campus, but they hadn't interacted much. Star Han didn't expect to encounter her here and didn't know what to say. Gui Yan also recognized Star Han and was equally surprised.
Zeng Mingzhi noticed the tension between them and asked, "Do you know her?"
"Oh, no, she just looks like someone I know, so..." Star Han quickly explained.
At that moment, Gui Yan regained her composure and sat next to Star Han. One of her hands started to wander on Star Han's body while the other hooked around his neck. Star Han felt overwhelmed. Suddenly, a brilliant idea came to his mind, and he said to Zeng Mingzhi, "Brother Zeng, I want to have a private conversation with this young lady. Let's find another place to talk in a few days. How about that?"
Zeng Mingzhi was preoccupied and casually replied, "Alright, alright. We'll talk later."
Star Han and Gui Yan sat in a taxi and headed straight to Star Han's house. They remained silent throughout the journey until they arrived at Star Han's house. Along the way, Gui Yan noticed the comfortable and elegant furnishings and realized that a considerable amount of money had been spent on this house. After they sat down in the living room, Gui Yan asked, "Where are we? Why did you bring me here?"
"This is my home. What would you like to drink?" Star Han opened the refrigerator and asked.
"Anything is fine. But how can this be your home? Your home shouldn't be here," Gui Yan said in disbelief.
"Why not? We can meet at a luxury hotel, so why can't I have a home here?" Star Han handed Gui Yan a glass of cola and poured one for himself.
"Oh, I see. You didn't live on campus. So, you live here. No wonder no one knows where you live," Gui Yan remarked.
"How do you know I didn't live on campus?" Star Han was puzzled.
"Someone as mysterious as you, of course, everyone knows," Gui Yan replied.
"I may be mysterious, but not as mysterious as you," Star Han joked.
"Ah, speaking of that, don't mention what happened at the hotel to anyone. I'll be in trouble if it gets out," Gui Yan suddenly realized the seriousness of the situation.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. It's not beneficial for me either. Do you need my help with anything?" Star Han sincerely asked.
"Do you really want to help me? Why would you want to help me? Now that you know what kind of girl, or rather, what kind of woman I am, you still want to help me? Aren't you afraid of being deceived by me?" Gui Yan asked sharply.
"Why not? You must have your reasons for doing what you do. I don't want to judge you or have the right to judge. But as classmates, I genuinely want to help you," Star Han said sincerely.
"But helping me would require a substantial amount of money," Gui Yan said with a smile.
"Tell me how I can help you, and then I'll know if I can help. If you don't tell me, how can I help you?" Star Han responded.
"Oh, so you're confident that you have the means to help me. I'm curious. How much money do you have? Let me see if you have the ability to help me," Gui Yan teased.
"If money is what it takes to help you, then I believe I have the means. How much money do you think qualifies me to help you? Would a few million be enough?" Star Han said.
"Oh, if you're truly capable as you claim, then, of course, you have the right to say that. Actually, I know that you can afford to live in such a house, so you must have some money. I'm just curious. Where does all that money come from? As far as I know, your family isn't wealthy," Gui Yan said.
"We all have our own ways of making money. They say, 'Snakes have their snake paths, and mice have their mouse holes.' As for where my money comes from, you don't need to worry about it. Just know that it's obtained legally. Do you really not need my help?" Star Han asked.
"Let's forget about it. I don't think it's necessary anymore. Unless you want to sponsor me, then I might consider it," Gui Yan jokingly said.
"Why? What's the reason?" Star Han was puzzled. Why did he always encounter girls like this? Or were girls these days like this?
"Because if that's the case, I feel like I'm using your money, and I wouldn't be able to hold my head up in front of you. If I just use your money for no reason, I would never be able to face you," Gui Yan said seriously.
"Oh, I see. I thought girls believe it's only natural for men to help them," Star Han remarked.
"That's for trivial matters. But for something significant, it's different unless she wants to spend her life with that person," Gui Yan smiled and said.
"I see. Let's not talk about this. It's getting late. You shouldn't go back to the school now. Just stay here. I have spare rooms. Take a shower, change your clothes. I have some girls' clothes here. Just pick one to wear," Star Han said, noticing that Gui Yan's figure was similar to Yu Ya's. He took her to Yu Ya's wardrobe since Yu Ya happened to be out today.
"Oh, why do you have so many girls' clothes here? And this room seems like a girl's room. And that girl lives with you?" Gui Yan asked.
"She's my sister," Star Han didn't want to say much and replied casually.
"Sister? Your foster sister?" Gui Yan asked ambiguously.
Star Han didn't answer.
After both of them took a shower, they sat in the living room and chatted. Star Han looked at Gui Yan, who was wearing a white nightgown. Her disheveled hair casually fell behind her head, making her look so pure, completely different from her appearance in the private room. Star Han could hardly believe it was the same person.
Seeing Star Han's expression, Gui Yan smiled and said, "Am I different from before? Hehe, I like it this way. I like playing different roles to better understand life."
Star Han couldn't help but sigh, "Ah, you art students are so hard to understand! But, you really look beautiful like this."
"Hehe, I'm glad to hear you say that. But I wonder if you say the same to your little observer?" Gui Yan said, turning to Star Han, "By the way, do you have someone named 'Little Observer'? Is that even a name?"
Star Han and Yu Ya smiled at each other. Gui Yan continued, "Let's go, let's go shopping. Didn't we say we were going shopping today?"
On the way, Star Han noticed that people were constantly glancing at him. It was different to have two beautiful women by his side. However, Star Han felt a bit uncomfortable.
