Chapter 16

And so, the semester came to an end. Onlooker's leg was still not completely healed, but she could now walk slowly with a crutch. Since Star Han was about to start school again and Onlooker's recovery was going well, it was decided that she should focus on practicing on her own. Thus, Onlooker's treatment came to an end, and Star Han accompanied her back to her own home. Onlooker didn't express much, only saying, "Two weeks later, on Saturday, it's my birthday. I want you to come to my place in the afternoon. I have something to give you."

Upon hearing this, Star Han thought it was simple and didn't give it much thought. He readily agreed. On Friday, Onlooker called again to remind Star Han about their appointment.

The next day, Star Han arrived at Onlooker's villa on time, expecting it to be lively. However, to his surprise, the villa was quiet, with only Onlooker sitting alone in the living room, waiting for him. Without waiting for Star Han to ask, Onlooker spoke, "It's strange, isn't it? It's my birthday, yet it's so quiet. Actually, we already had a birthday party in the morning, and everyone has left. There used to be a servant here, but I gave her two days off. Now, it's just the two of us."

"How's your leg? Is it better?" Star Han asked with concern.

"Thank you for your concern. Do you still doubt your own abilities? My leg is completely healed. The doctors even called it a miracle. It's all thanks to you. My family wants to meet the great doctor who healed me," Onlooker said with a smile.

Hearing this, Star Han looked around and couldn't help but feel that he hadn't lost anything. After this experience, Star Han's understanding of the Clear Mind Decision had become much deeper. He couldn't help but feel grateful to Onlooker. Observing Star Han's reaction, Onlooker smiled and said, "Don't worry, there's no one else here. I know you don't like too much exposure. I didn't mention your name. Do you understand why I invited you here today? Let me tell you. I want to have a birthday celebration with just the two of us. I hope you won't refuse me. Also, I have a gift for you as a thank you for healing my leg. Wait here for me, and don't peek. I called you here, so you can only come when I call for you."

After saying that, Onlooker went back to her room. Seeing how mysterious Onlooker was acting, Star Han's curiosity was piqued. He wanted to see what it was all about and decided to go along.

Star Han didn't have to wait long before he heard Onlooker's pleasant voice coming from the room. "Alright, come in. The door isn't closed."

Star Han gently pushed open the door and was stunned by the scene inside. Onlooker was lying naked on the large bed, in an incredibly seductive pose. Looking at Onlooker's slightly shy face, smooth neck, perky breasts, flat stomach, slender thighs, and the enticing gateway below. Star Han's mind went blank, and he forgot about everything—the Clear Mind Decision, morality, and his demeanor. He unconsciously moved closer to Onlooker. Clearly pleased with her own allure, Onlooker giggled and said, "Silly, come here quickly."

Upon hearing this, Star Han disregarded everything else, and his eyes were fixed on Onlooker's enticing body.

...

After a frenzy of passion, Star Han embraced Onlooker as they lay quietly on the bed, savoring the rare tranquility that followed the madness. After a while, Star Han sighed, not sure if it was a sigh for his own lack of self-control or a sigh for Onlooker's actions. He said, "Why did you have to do this? Even though you said before that I never had such intentions..."

"I know, but that's your business. You healed my leg. Would you have me do nothing in return? I didn't want to give you my first time like this because it would seem like I did it out of gratitude rather than for any other reason. Actually, I wanted it to be like in the movies, where we fall deeply in love for a while, and then I give you my sacred first time for the sake of love. But there's no time anymore. And if I wanted to repay you, all I can offer is money and myself. I know you're wealthy and that you don't care about money. So, I can only give you myself. And compared to money, I think giving you myself is better for both of us. We are both modern individuals, and we should do what we want to do, not suppress ourselves or force ourselves. Do what I want to do and go the path I should take. I don't want to say anything else. We are friends, right?" Onlooker said calmly.

"Yes, I have always considered you my confidante, and you truly are," Star Han said, looking into Onlooker's eyes with sincerity.

"Good, for the sake of our friendship, let's make love one more time," Onlooker said excitedly, flipping over and sitting on top of Star Han.

...

It was another earth-shattering encounter. Afterwards, both of them felt somewhat emotional. They remained silent for a while until Onlooker suddenly said, "I have to leave. I'm leaving in a few days."

"Leave? Where are you going?" Star Han didn't understand what was happening.

"I'm going abroad to study. My father has arranged everything. I'll be going to the United States. I'm leaving in a few days," Onlooker explained.

Silence filled the air, a heavy and oppressive silence. It felt like a long time had passed, yet it also felt like not much time at all. Star Han asked, "When will we see each other again?"

Star Han didn't ask when she was leaving because it wasn't necessary.

"I don't know either. Maybe in a few years. Perhaps... I think if we are destined to meet again, we will," Onlooker said calmly.

"You shouldn't go back today. Stay here tonight, and let's have a nice dinner together. We may not have this opportunity again for a while," Onlooker said excitedly.

"Alright," Star Han replied without hesitation.

The next morning, Star Han returned to his own villa, still not fully recovered from the atmosphere of farewell. It was Sunday, and Yu Ya was also at home. When Yu Ya saw Star Han returning, she asked, "Brother, were you at Onlooker's place? Did you have a good time? Onlooker is so beautiful and smart. You must have been happy together."

"Onlooker is leaving soon. She's going to study abroad in the United States," Star Han replied.

"Oh, I see. No wonder she invited you over. But it's okay, she'll come back. She's leaving, but I'm not. I'll always be by Star Han's side," Yu Ya comforted Star Han.

"Yes, there's still you," Star Han responded, realizing that he had started to see Yu Ya as an adult, someone equal to himself. He no longer treated her like an immature little sister. Star Han didn't know whether this change was good or bad.

In the following days, Star Han continued to trade stocks while studying. However, there were some changes. He made up his mind to focus on his studies, considering it the most important thing. Stock trading became merely an entertainment during his study process. He believed that making money was something he could do at any time, and he could maintain a calm mindset amidst the fluctuations of the stock market. Moreover, his only confidante in the stock market was gone. Star Han no longer had the same passion for the stock market as before. On the other hand, studying was different. After a few years, there might not be another opportunity and environment like this to focus on learning. Therefore, he decided to make the most of his limited four years in college and learn as much as possible, laying a foundation for his future life. He reduced the funds in the stock market to around five million, keeping the rest in the bank for easy access. At this point, Star Han's total funds had reached around twenty million. He had an idea of shifting his money from the stock market to invest in some businesses for more stable development. He entrusted the remaining five million in the stock market to a broker and no longer paid constant attention to it. He would only deal with it if there were major events.

Star Han returned to being the person who went to the library or the classroom to read every day, rather than rushing home after class.
