This world was a disaster. More than that, this place was nothing more than the corruption of evil taken physical form. Therefore, there was no time to waste and he had to rush forward to change things.
Thus, he, a proud Zulu warrior, jumped towards the next tree. The Udwi didn’t stop moving through this forest unless he needed to sleep or eat. Fights occurred, but that was typical in such a cruel and desolate land.
Right now, he had to admit to his pride that he had crossed over quite a lot of land. The giant tower in the distance that gave off pure light in the nights had come closer than before, now near enough that the light seemed to be blinding. With that, he could be more than reassured of his goal and how possible this gargantuan task truly was.
He nodded to himself, before moving onwards. He was feeling a bit parched and hungry, but that was simple to resolve with a bit of hunting. Water was plentiful with all the lakes and rivers, so the only concern would be to get shelter and possibly avoid some serious battles all over the place.
Whatever the case, he could take the chance to restore his stamina for the next day. Thus, he’d need to focus on hunting right here and now. He got his trusty spear ready as he surveyed the land from the top of the tree, looking around for any creatures and potential water sources.
He found the water in an instant, a giant lake that seemed to scale on for quite a good while. As for creatures, there were plenty he had found, but the problem was how much they had herded together. This would mean he’d be outnumbered if he was caught and that he’d have to be careful if he were to avoid a flood of monsters coming after him.
The Udwi shook his head. As nice as the water source was, he couldn’t risk having such a dangerous event occur near him. No, he’d have to go searching for something smaller.
So he looked once more. Another option, a river that seemed to trail off somewhere else. He didn’t see any monsters, but that might be because of all the foliage blocking his sight. He’d have to get closer in order to get a good view of the area to ensure he wouldn’t have to deal with any serious battles.
That was fine. He could do that. He went ahead and leaned against the tree trunk, before jumping off directly to his location.
Normally, he wouldn’t have done such a deed. Before he came to this world, he would have chosen to be more cautious and try to keep himself safe at all costs. But things were different in this world, with his connection to the spirits. He called upon them to assist and they obliged.
The wind came and carried him throughout the sky, soaring through like the birds that flew back home. He flew towards the river at a slow pace, his arms wide to ensure he could have some stability throughout his flight.
Within a few seconds, he was close. He grabbed the nearest branch and twirled around, before jumping on top and getting a closer look at the river area.
What he saw made him nod in approval. The river was clean and there were only five monsters around the area, meaning that even if he was caught he could take these things on. However, he could not be complacent. Just because he had dealt with numerous beasts did not mean these were any different.
He stayed up on the tree as he watched their behavior. These beasts walked on all fours as they twisted their necks left and right to swivel around and inspect any danger. As he suspected, none of them drank any water or committed themselves to fight amongst each other. They were merely walking around lazily and looking around with blank eyes. No reason for their actions, merely doing so for a reason he himself could not understand.
These beasts had giant arms with claws on the ends of their hands, with what seemed to be necks that twisted on and over each other. They each had grins that seemed almost glued on, with their teeth all warped and crooked that didn’t seem to have any rhyme or reason to how they were set. More than that, they had giant lumps randomly scattered throughout their body with no explanation for why such a thing was done.
The Udwi had to admit that such a thing was interesting. He honestly had to wonder what caused all these monsters to be so different. Perhaps this was because evil itself could not comprehend itself and thus chaos reigned in all of the creations for each beast? While he had been able to see some similar creatures from here and there, they seemed to alter in appearance the more he traveled.
Either way, he had to admit one thing. They were disgusting. They were absolutely horrendous and downright nasty. Why, the thought of eating one of these things brought ugly feelings and absolute regret at even considering such an option. But, this was the way this world went. He would have to devour one of these things alive if he were to keep on living.

So, he kept his eye on them for a while, before nodding to himself. He reared back his spear and called upon the spirits once more to help guide his weapon onwards. The spirits heard his request and obliged, creating a pathway that led a way to commit to his bidding. He took a slow breath, before launching his weapon forward.
The spear went through the air before the spirits grabbed onto it and guided it through the set journey. The first beast did not realize what was happening before the spear ripped through its head. The second and third one did not even get the chance to react before being turned to dust, leaving behind only two of them left.
Unfortunately, these beasts reacted quickly to the incoming attack. They moved out of the spear as the end proceeded to lodge itself directly into the ground. They instantly began to scan around the area, looking for where the person responsible for the attack could be.
The Udwi scowled at the sight. How annoying, he had preferred it if the spear had gone through its full cycle. However, now he had to get down there and get involved with an actual fight. He would rather save his energy, but such was life.
Without further ado, he began to jump from tree to tree. His goal was to get his spear back, as he would rather have an easy battle rather than a long drawn out one. However, he seemed to have caused a commotion with his movement as the beasts noticed his movements and roared right at him. With that, they began to chase after him, moving at a decent pace that was keeping up with his own.
Tsk. That was even worse than before. Now he had to invest more resources to take these beasts out of the equation. Once more, he called upon the spirits to help him. This time, they hesitated at his request, before refusing.
He asked again, this time with a bit more force. Then and only then did the spirits acquiesce and go through with his request.
The wind blew harshly and transformed from a breeze into a concentrated blast of air. That attack slammed into one of the beasts and launched it into the other, forcing the two to go down onto the ground. Without much trouble, the Udwi proceeded to drop down and collect his spear, before throwing it right at one of the downed beasts.
The creature did not get the chance to get up before the weapon ripped right through its skull. The other beast yelped with shock as it struggled to get up, but to no avail as he proceeded to stomp down on the beast’s back. A loud crack echoed throughout the area as the beast started to twist its neck left and right to no avail. He had successfully broken its spine, thus preventing it from being able to move anymore.
Now was the time for him to reap the benefits of his hunt. He took his spear out and put it away, before walking up to the beast and stared down at it. He couldn’t help but grimace at the thought of sinking his teeth into this flesh. However, there was nothing else he could do. This was necessary.
He took a deep breath. Then, he knelt down and ripped out a chunk of flesh with his mouth. He chewed and did his utter best to ignore the outright disgusting flavor of the meat, bitter and gritty. He went through this torture for a few seconds, before swallowing and quickly drinking some water from the river to get that nauseating taste out of his mouth.
He grimaced as he forced himself to go back to the paralyzed beast. Then, he groaned before digging in once more. He managed to do this until he was full. Then and only then did he go ahead and put the beast out of its misery.
The Udwi stared at the dust that began to fly away with the wind. He took a handful of it and let it flow through his fingers. The texture was similar to that of sand from the beach, which mystified him. He had expected the dust to be more wet and possibly close to that of dead skin, but no: it was more solid and gritty. That was interesting.
Nevertheless, as much as he wanted to do more insight into this, he did not have the time. After all, he was out in the open and staying out here was asking to get ambushed by any beasts that remained in the forest. So, after taking a while to let the food in his stomach digest, he went up back into the tree and began his journey once more.
Though, that being said, his mind wandered throughout his trip. He had to wonder: what exactly was the Usurper capable of? After all, if that man was able to topple such a powerful being and take his throne, then was it not possible for him to do so?
After all, he was brought to this world to merely bring peace. He was sympathetic to this cause, he truly was, but that did not mean he wanted his only role to be a savior of one world. After he finished his role, what was supposed to do afterwards? Merely live on in this place and not care about his tribe? How he recalled how scared they were about being wiped out by those British soldiers?
He couldn’t do that, that would be an insult to his people and to everything he was entrusted to. He was a warrior of his clan through and through, which meant that he was to dedicate his whole being to defending his people. Being here defeated that purpose, ruining his whole reason for living.
No. He refused. He wasn’t going to forget about his people and abandon them. He had to do something to ensure that his people will be well-taken care of even after everything that occurs. He had to make sure that those bastards that were trying to exploit his people received their death. But how? When he was nowhere near his home and in a strange world?
There was one way he could think of. Getting this powerful being to send him back or to indulge in his deepest wishes. Something that he knew he wanted quite simply.
Kill all the British. Leave none of them alive. He would become the lead figure to the massacre that would come to those that sought his peoples’ death.
And if his request was refused? Well, the answer was simple.
The Udwi would merely overthrow him and take the throne just like the Usurper had done. And there was nothing anyone could do about that.
