Chapter 4

3 months pass..

It was pitch black out, Ryuuka and Zen were in the cave, a fire was lit, they both were eating some type of meat. The meat wasn't of a normal animal, but a spiritual beast.

"Neber knew *chew chew* sbirichual beashts could tashte sho good." , Zen spoke as he ate the meat. (Never knew spiritual beasts could taste so good*)

"Idh you cook it *chew* long *chew* enough." Ryuuka replied, stuffing her mouth with even more meat. (if you cook it long enough*)

The fire that burnt was put out, seemingly on its own.

"Chere shhould be *chew* more tchan enough *chew chew* fuel, no?" *gulp*, Zen said, swallowing the food soon after.

"Yeah, I don't know what happene-" Ryuuka stopped speaking, feeling a huge Qi presence nearby. Ryuuka quickly swallowed her food.

"I'll go out and check." Zen said, standing up. "WAIT!" Ryuuka interrupted.

"Why? I don't really feel anything." Zen said.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH" Zen screamed out loud, feeling a headache so painful he had trouble beathing. He fell to the ground and started to flail around.

Ryuuka swiftly went out the cave to check, making a fire in her arm using Mana. There stood a man, in the dark, whose face she couldn't make out, the Qi presence felt way too different than what she had felt all her life. Ryuuka appeared behind the man and tried to stab him with her hand, but to no avail. The man disappeared and appeared a few feet farther from Ryuuka.

'I gotta run', she thought to herself. She quickly entered the cave and picked up Zen, but before she could go out the cave, the fire lit back up, the man entered the cave, now laughing his arse off. "DID I ACTUALLY GET YOU? AHAHA!" the man said, entering the cave.

"OF COURSE IT WAS YOU HYASU!" Ryuuka exclaimed, dropping Zen to the ground and giving out a chuckle. Zen was still flailing around with pain, which Hyasu noticed quickly and stopped his Qi leaking out.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Zen took a second to realize that his head didn't hurt anymore and another to realise that Hyasu was back. "WHAT THE HELL?! WAS THAT YOU HYASU?!" Zen said angrily to Hyasu. "No it was the divine beast, we beat it, the fuck do you think?" Hyasu replied sarcastically to Zen.

"Sit down, we roasted a Serene Deer." Ryuuka said to Hyasu. (Serene Deer is the name of a spiritual beast, I'll add more details later.)

"Ah wait, I've something to give you, Zen." Hyasu spoke, and disappeared for a fraction of a second and came back, holding a long staff, wrapped on both ends with a majestic pattern made up of gold and silver. "This is made up of a special type of wood and an even more special metal, infused with my Kyon and Qi, this weapon will protect you if you get into any form of danger." Hyasu spoke, handing the staff to Zen.

"But I don't know how to use a sta-", "You'll use this staff." Hyasu interrupted.

2 days pass..

It was mid-day, the sun right above everyone's head, Hyasu was training Zen, sparring him and teaching him various movements.

"That about rounds up the technique.", "If you master this technique, you'll achieve your Innate technique and Gaiten in no time, I hope Ryuuka told you what those ar-

Hyasu and Ryuuka disappeared. "Oh come on? Playing a prank on me again? How is this even fun to you guys?!" Zen spoke out loud, frustrated.

"COME BACK!!!!!" Zen screamed at the top of his lungs, hoping they would come back soon. He waited in the cave, thinking that they would come back soon if he didn't pay any interest. It turned evening, but they didn't come back. "ITS NOT FUCKING FUNNY ANYMORE, COME THE FUCK BACK!!!" Zen again, screamed at the top of his lungs, as he ran into the forest in front of the cave, to hunt a deer for dinner. The serene deer was almost completely white, except for the gray spot marks on its back, it had long, spiky horns, extending to about half its height.

Zen pulled back his hand with the staff and swung it on to the deer, blood splattered around. It was more dirty than he would have liked, but it worked.

He bled out and skinned the deer with his Dao, which he had attached to its waist.

He brought the meat back home and cooked it, it was now night out, they still hadn't come back. The next day, he woke up, practised movements taught to him by Hyasu ate, slept, still believing they would return.

A week passed like this, Zen eventually got to know that they wouldn't return and went out to search for them, taking his staff and Dao with him.

'Where the fuck'd they disappear off to?!', Zen thought, he had now been searching for 3 hours, he went to the close by city, sects located close to where he stayed, hell even the closest faction of the demonic cult! But he found no details at all.

He kept wandering, eating at inns with what little money he had left, when he remembered his old sect, oh how he cherished those days, only to remember who took those days away from him.

He thought for a bit more, just to realise what he desired the most, revenge!
