Chapter 5 Training Week

Chapter 5 Training Week

Waking up slowly, Daimon was dazed and still a little sleepy "what a crazy dream" he had been fighting rocks and plants. There was also a crazy talking orb. He found the dream to be extremely vivid. laying there for another few minutes he started to feel like his bed had become harder than normal which confused him greatly. Upon opening his eyes he found himself inside a tent. "Oh no this can't be real," he said. Thinking about everything which had happened he began sighing in acceptance, "I'm guessing that it was real then. Opening the tent flap he came face to face with the orb which had haunted his dreams.

"It was definitely not a dream". Giggled Albert

Coming to terms with his current situation Daimon walked towards his backpack and grabbed the bread he had purchased yesterday. Daimon was shocked to find that it had remained fresh. "Why is this bread still fresh Albert".

"Compared to your pitiful human products other food made in the universe is superior, for example, this bread won't start to lose energy for weeks".

Meal consumed, Daimons' next step was to create a training plan for the next few days. "How long is left until the tutorial period is over?" asked Daimon.

" Six days and two hours replied Albert''.

Ideally, he wanted to begin exploring outside his cave before the training period came to an end and before his location was filled with whatever strange race lived with these strange plants. He, like most, did not want to become breakfast for a man-eating plant.

Albert had informed him that all races did not begin with the same stats, some were more powerful than others while the most powerful such as dragons were used by the system as boss monsters because they were so strong, He also mentioned that they had been restricted by the system and could not leave the areas designated to them, however, every race could defeat the beasts.

Dragons populated every world and were some of the toughest monsters to surpass.

"How can I possibly defeat a dragon? Damon said worriedly.

"I said all races had the capability, I didn't specifically mention your name did I. Also it is too soon, months will pass even years before a human can contend with a dragon". giggled Albert.

Daimon began to worry about Dragons, rock monsters man-eating plants, and other races, how could he contend with so many enemies at his doorstep. How strong could he possibly get if he had only four to five days of training time left before it all truly began? His inner world training would help immensely however to achieve the results needed he would have to push his body and mind beyond its limits over and over again. Knowing this he did not shy away and give up hope, he pushed forward and aimed his mind towards the future.

The first problem he found was how would he design a training plan when he didn't even know his current body limits due to the increased stats. Due to this reason, his training plan consisted of training his body until he was out of energy, followed by entering his inner world to train his mana while letting his body recover. This would firstly help him learn his limits and then the training could be revisited and amended. Considering the time remaining for the tutorial he decided to leave at least two days to explore the surface.

"I must get strong enough", exclaimed Daimon. With this statement, he began to train his body, pushups, sit-ups and other small exercises started the routine, followed by a jog around the cave. Finding some big rocks on the cliff edge he began using them as makeshift weights, he found that they were heavier than what he could normally use. These rocks weighed roughly 140kg although Daimon didn't know this, it was an incredible weight considering it was not big enough to weigh that much. The only reason he could lift it was due to the extra stats he had gained.

Asking Albert about the strange weight he was informed that the landscape, trees, metals, and everything else materialistic on the planet would become stronger and more durable as time passed due to the ambient mana in the air.. Finally hoping that he could gain a fist-fighting skill, he also threw some shadow boxing into the mix.

Amazingly three hours had passed before his body physically could not take any more pain. Eating some more bread Damon prepared to head into his inner world.

Upon entering Daimon noticed that the training tutors for the 2 skills he had learned had vanished, He assumed that it was due to having already learned both. Skipping over the other screens, he decided to ignore his stat gains Until his training was complete as he didn't want to be discouraged by poor results. Daimon began using the knowledge and fantasy aspects of his world to plan his future development for what the people of earth had been calling magic for years. Daimon still found this unbelievable however he was determined to learn.

"So my main aim right now should be learning how to create a mana arrow so that I can use the compound bow, however, I can barely control any mana at all right now. In the books usually, the skill mana manipulation is first gained so I should focus on this aspect. If I wish to leave this mountain alive and find my family I must complete this task within six days hopefully five so I have time to explore and gain some levels"

With a plan decided upon he began to set it in motion. Controlling thin strands of mana within his core, he was taking the first steps to gain Mana Manipulation or so he had hoped. The process was extremely difficult and required a lot of effort, compared to the skills given to him as rewards he realized how much system granted skills would be useful considering it came with a Tutor.

Finding it difficult he decided to activate adrenaline shot to view the way mana inside his core reacted. Daimon gained minor insights into the skill which in turn helped him control more strands of mana. Repeating this over and over again for an hour Daimon's control over mana went from two stands up to eight. Mentally exhausted at this point he began to use two strands of mana outside his core. While the mana moved through his body, Daimons' control slipped and an unbearable pain started to come from his chest.

No longer able to continue, Daimon decided to have a break." That hurt pretty bad I should stop before I lose concentration next time". His mind felt like it had been through a major workout. Being able to concentrate for so long was a great achievement. In the past, he had put all his focus on education and athletics training so this was just slightly different than the norm for him, just harder and more intense. Focusing on recovery he Sat down inside his inner world and closed his eyes. Shutting off his thoughts he sat in tranquility. It wasn't hard due to how sore his head was, twenty minutes passed until he was interrupted by a prompt.

Skill received Level 1 Meditation Uncommon: Increases mana and stamina regeneration by 5% while calming the mind.

Daimon was ecstatic all he had done was rest and he had gained a skill, "maybe the fact that I can train in my mindspace allows me to gain skills faster" he had hoped anyway. Continuing to meditate Daimon's mana gradually refilled and he had gained another skill level in meditation.

Finally, Daimon retreated from his inner world and found that his body had also recovered from the physical exercise he had forced upon it earlier that day. After eating some food he once again began to train his body and found that he could last longer, lift more, and also run faster.

"It's unfortunate that my body training speed won't be as fast as my magic judging by the speed I gained a rare skill inside my mindspace. Maybe in the future, I can use mana to augment my body like my adrenaline shot skill?. That would be epic".

With the second workout, complete Daimon was exhausted and decided to go to sleep. Retreating to his tent Albert came out from the corner he had been watching from.

"This kid hasn't spoken to me all day how rude. He is however amazing, facing the pressure of survival his focus and dedication have grown to immense proportions, what if the entire race is like this. Fortunately, he is the only one with this strange mindspace, the system will keep a close eye on this one".

Albert was shocked at first by the stats Daimon had gained due to training, a solid +3 across the board for physical skills, and an incredible +5 for willpower not to mention gaining meditation after one hour. Guessing that the mindspace had helped with this Albert wasn't too shocked, however, it was still an incredible pace, even in the worlds assimilated before this, there was no record of anyone gaining the meditation skill without 5 weeks of hard training and that was with a skill tutor.

"When the tutorial is over in five days I have to return. I wonder if the system will let me stay, maybe if I offer to keep watching over this human it will grant the request based on his weird mindspace".

Morning came once more, this time Daimon was prepared. After a short discussion with Albert, he was pleased to learn that mana manipulation was indeed a skill, however, any tips from Albert on how to gain the skill were less than forthcoming. Repeating the physical training once more he exhausted the energy in his body before entering his mindspace to train his mana.

" Yesterday I was able to control eight threads of mana within my core. Let's aim for more today. I will not try using it outside my core again until my control inside has improved". A plan once more set in motion Daimon focused on his mana control, pushing his limits, breaking through, and pushing again by the end of the training session he had improved his control from eight threads of mana to twenty-two. the threads had also become almost twice as thick. The improvement was extremely rapid and once Again Albert was shocked by the training speed which was unheard of until this point

"When will this kid slow down he hasn't even added his extra stat points yet. does he even remember that he has them?. Wait until he learns about the rewards for achieving important skills first, will he work even harder.

With his mind once more exhausted Daimon took a small break and focused on his meditation. He was delighted to find that it had leveled up. "Should I look at my stat gains?" he pondered. Not wanting to be disappointed he decided against the idea. Leaving his mindspace he once more threw himself into training his physical body before falling asleep.

The next day he changed up his training plan and began to hit the rock face inside the cliff. Judging that his regeneration could heal the wounds he gave it his all.

After a talk with Albert this morning about known skills, he was informed that there were resistance skills granted which covered almost everything from magic resistance, physical resistance, and law resistance once the law was understood enough. So the ingenious plan to punch rocks was Daimons' bright idea to gain physical resistance, unfortunately, it was a painful process which Albert found extremely humorous as he giggled every time Daimon exclaimed in pain.

After the morning workout, he once more entered his mindspace to train his mana control followed by meditation.

Managing to increase the number of mana threads under his control from 22 up to 40. He was extremely pleased especially since the mana threads had grown thicker once more.

After a bountiful round of meditation, he left his mind space and tortured his body once more before drifting off to sleep.

Training on the fourth day was a little different. He began once more by punching rocks followed by shadowboxing. Feeling the need to get faster, he carried a huge rock, while running around the cave. In his mind-space, he began weaving the 40 threads of mana into 20 threads. Combining two threads at a time Daimon found the new bigger thread was radiating more power and also harder to control. Twenty threads soon became ten and ten became five. The power was immense. Timidly Daimon began guiding one thread out of his core and into his body. After a few rotations with no problems, he found the process difficult but acceptable. Before exhaustion took over he had managed to guide three threads out of his core and around his body simultaneously.

The evening routine continued with meditation, work out and sleep.

With only two days left before the Tutorial period was over, he decided to forgo physical training and focused on learning mana manipulation. He felt like the skill was within his grasp. Entering his mindspace, he continued to rotate the three strands of mana out of his core and around his body. Constantly pushing himself he finally gained control of all five strands of mana, which he then proceeded to simultaneously move within his body, this took all morning. A few hours of meditation followed which resulted in the skill reaching level 3. Later in the evening, Daimon took the final step, bringing the mana out of his body. Taking one strand out of his core he guided the mana through his shoulder down his arm and pushed it out through his palm. As soon as the first strand touched the air a Celebratory ding resounded within his mindspace.

Level 1 Mana Manipulation skill acquired; Rank - Rare - Able to use Mana freely outside the body 10% boost to maximum mana stored in the user's core.

Daimon instantly crashed out of his mind-space, the shock forcing him to lose control over the mana in his body. Unable to control it the mana spiraled out of control and caused his painful exit.

"What has the fool done this time". Checking Daimons' status Albert found the new skill. Slightly less shocked considering he had expected Daimon to gain the skill he said to himself "He has gained some amazing rewards, maybe I should have warned him it may not have been so shocking".

looking at the stats gains for the last 4 days Albert shook his head in defeat. "This kid is going to be unstoppable on a low tier planet. maybe we have misjudged the self-belief and willpower of this race, or is it just him".
