Chapter 13 Goals

Chapter 13 Goals

Within his mindspace, Daimon prepared to make a plan for the future, beforehand he had to check his gains from the brief meeting with the System. The first thing he noticed was a new interface, showing the command interface. This interface stood beside his stats and looked similar to a computer screen only much bigger.

"I wonder if every race has the same mindspace, or will it just be humans who have game screens in their mind, I am sure not every race will understand the concept of gaming after all" mused Daimon.

The command interface, for now, was blank, a message on it said, create a war party to access 0/5 members. "This seems important the System would not have given me it otherwise. I'll need to work on this throughout the journey, my plan in the short term should be gaining levels, my lead will only last if I push myself harder. I will also scout the area, find out what changes have occurred, and see if there are any unexpected guests, and gaining a few levels shouldn't be a problem, I can do it relatively safe for now from my archer point."

"Just remember the higher your level the more experience will be needed it may take longer than you think".

"Thanks for that Albert," replied Daimon dryly. "My long-term plan should be reaching level 25, finding a way to gain war party members so I can level up my command skill, finding my family, and lastly conquering the world tower.

Thinking about his family Daimon became gloomy, what happened if they spawned beside a rock giant instantly upon arriving and got flattened. His mother was a frail woman and the ability to gain stats would be helpful however her starting point would be hard, his father was a normal man in every aspect of the world, hopefully, he could protect his mother and younger brother until Daimon found them.

"Don't worry, the monsters, while still dangerous, won't be too strong for those that have just arrived, you were just an anomaly and shouldn't have been here. Each race will also be placed together with others of their kind and placed into areas throughout their designated land, the system has made many changes however it is not a monster, while many will die it has given everyone an equal opportunity to survive and prosper."

Daimon was glad to hear this and it lessened his worries somewhat. He could only try his best and he vowed to do just that. Whatever stood in his way of reuniting and protecting his family would be crushed, some of his decisions thus far had made him question his morals, should I kill every creature I see? What about their family? What gives me the right to take another's life?

In the end, it all boiled down to two things: kill or be killed and the will to do anything to protect his family. Just thinking about his younger brother possibly being in danger pushed the doubts he had been having to the back of his mind.

Almost finished with his plan Daimon checked his final gain, the new command skill. He noticed an option to select a perk beside the skill.

Level 1 Command skill granted Rarity Epic Able to command troops in battle, 1 perk selection granted.

He was happy to learn that he had gained his first Epic skill, but was surprised to find it didn't warrant a reward like his meditation skill, Albert explained that only skills created by himself would garner the attention of the System, which to Daimon made sense. Willing his mind into the skill he found a list of perks to choose from and the option to choose one.

The list included troop morale, extra command capacity, increased stats while leading an army, and a wide range of other perks. Daimon decided to leave it alone for now considering his solitary state.

How could he find teammates and soldiers to command when he had no idea where his race was? With the question in mind, he began to ponder searching his mind for an answer. A short while later he had decided on a few, befriending other races if he came across them, gain any other skill reward, check if there is a taming skill and hightail it to his race. A few problems arose with the three options, the other races may not follow his command, and would make the other races stronger benefit humanity? no, it wouldn't. Was there a taming skill? And if he learned it would beasts count in the command interface. Lastly, it could take months to find humanity once more.

Pondering over he decided to check the shop for skills. Doing so brought up an extremely small list compared to the shop's usual standards which usually included thousands of options. Usually, when searching for the food, profession skill books, and other items the list was hundreds of pages long, surprising the list for combat skills only showed a few hundred options and almost all of them were being auctioned for ridiculous prices.

Skill; Common: Parry: no description Current bid 700 Star Coins.

"Albert why are these skills so expensive".

"Well considering how the System has only been in place on other worlds for a few hours before yours and their tutorial period has also just ended, it makes sense that not many people are selling skills right now, and the skills which are being sold are going for a high price. Also, the system itself is selling items in the shop which is how your food came to be however skill books and other more important options are not offered by the system as it would make it too easy for beings to gain power. The system wants warriors, not spoiled children" smirked Albert.

"Do monsters also drop skill books like in games Albert"?

"Yes some do however it is rare" replied Albert.

Stowing away the information for future use, Daimon wished he had found a few skill books to sell, this showed him how much funds he could potentially have lost by not looting corpses.

"When should I use my pet roll Albert you told me to wait but for how long?"

"Gain a little bit more strength first Daimon you don't want to push it once your pet dies it is gone for good, Imagine getting a mythic ranked dragon, only for it to die to a rock giant or something while you can't protect it."

"Wait, my pet could be a dragon?" exclaimed Daimon.

"The chance is extremely small but yes there is a chance" replied Albert.

Excited by the prospects of riding a dragon through the skies, Daimon decided to head out and complete the quests which he had accepted.

Climbing to the top of the cliff had become extremely easy at this point due to Daimons boosted stats, it took him no time at all, looking at the steep drop below still sent shivers down his spine, if the great distance to the ground killed the rock giant it would surely flatten him like a pancake.

Standing looking over the horizon, Daimon was shocked to notice the tall mountains in the distance had almost doubled in height and now towered into the sky, trees had sprouted up extremely high reaching into the glistening clouds floating through the bright sky. Daimon almost couldn't recognize the landscape surrounding him.

Using stealth, he transgressed the top of the mountain, the surroundings he found had become overgrown with the strange plant species, man-eating plants and other new types filled the rough mountain planes. To Daimon however they had become a goldmine, every opportunity he found he darted in and used slash with his dagger, to decimate small groups of the plant species, one of the new plants he found were slightly more dangerous,

Acid Spitter level 15

This horrid creature had extremely keen senses and when Daimon slew one of its brethren the Acid Spitters in the vicinity Immediately began to fire acid projectiles towards him. Thankfully the acid shot was slow and easy to dodge, which meant that he could get in close and finish the monster with a slash from his dagger.

After looting the creatures and considering where he was Daimon decided to check the loot later as he continued his journey along the cliff edge towards his archery spot.

When he arrived he noticed that the once empty Killzone had became populated with a strange group of creatures,

Level 13 storm Komori

It was a 4ft tall creature shaped like a dog with long claws and 3 sharp-looking spines growing out of their back, fangs adorned their face making the beasts look extremely cruel. From what Daimon could see roughly 20 of the creatures occupied the area, and they would make good target practice for Daimon as he grinned and pulled back on his bowstring. A sudden thought made him stop however not being able to look at these creatures would be a problem. The money he had gained from the weed cutting earlier had netted him a hefty profit. He had earned enough to buy the loot bot and a reinforced rope.

Auto loot bot - After being placed gathers loot from enemies slain within 20metres of the original placement spot.

Reinforced rope

Checking the loot received from killing the plant he found that the task had netted him 149-star coins and the Pasque flowers sold yesterday had earned another 240

After buying the two items only 232 coins remained. To buy the cooking skill guide Daimon needed 500.

"Now how to draw the beasts away, so that I can sneak down and place this loot bot? I might not even have to, Albert how much damage can this thing absorb?

"It is almost indestructible considering it is a mobile spatial ring".

The loot bot looked like a large camouflaged ant and seemed to blend into the surroundings almost instantly. "So if I tie it to the mana arrow, activate the bot, and fire, it should be fine when it reaches the ground?"

"Theoretically yes that should work" replied Albert.

Doing just that the loot box landing in the middle of the Storm Kamori pack, the poor beasts were clueless to the cruel fate which was about to befall them.

With a bright smirk, Daimon exclaimed "Albert let's get rich".
