Chapter 10 Draconian

Chapter 10 Draconian

Aloria was a beautiful place untouched by the Law of technology, the land had thrived and hundreds of lifeforms occupied the planet. Huge mountains grew high in the sky, forests covered the land, and the aroma of life permeated the planet. Undisturbed rivers gently weaved through the serene landscape, opening up into vast oceans filled with hundreds of unperturbed islands. The beauty of the planet should have calmed the hearts of all those upon it, unfortunately, this was not the case.

Alveron Starborn was exhausted which was unheard of for a Dragonkin. Born into the warrior clan of the Flame-Sworn, he had been raised for battle. On his planet Aloria, he had been rated as one of the strongest within the younger generation, his father however had a strength that had been immeasurable compared to the other life forms inhabiting the planet. The two, unfortunately, did not see eye to eye, well versed in combat due to his race's natural will for battle and his father's insistence on the need for combat training, Alveron had been alienated due to his talks of settling matters peacefully and without violence. The final straw had been when his father tasked him to lead a battalion of draconian warriors into battle against their nemesis, The Throng, the feared plant species which inhabited all corners of Aloria.

Cast aside by his clan and told never to return, Alveron had roamed the land forced to hunt due to starvation, and ending battles that could not be resolved peacefully had turned him into a warrior without measure. Unfortunately, one quiet evening as he was basking on a treetop enjoying the heat of the sun, which to their race was known as the dragon heart, the world had turned white.

Welcome to the ruling system Initiating Tutorial.

Several minutes later a figure floated towards him. It was a mini dragon.

"Welcome to the tutorial, my name is Draco and I have been sent here to act as your guide. My purpose is to help you create a new body, and afterward, you will prepare for standard training in 3 subjects of your choice over the next week as well as minor combat or professional training."

Alveron was stupefied, firstly looking at his body, he shockingly realized that he had turned into a round orb, tiny and floating in the white void. He spoke out and was startled to find that instead of the growl which the draconian race usually communicated in, he had spoken the same language as the Dragon before him and had strangely understood the new words.

"Where am I? What happened to my voice?“ Questioned Alveron in his new language.

"Firstly, Draconian you are in the tutorial world. Your world is currently being upgraded and merged with other worlds for a purpose that currently cannot be disclosed. In this new world, there will be 3 other races, to avoid confusion all languages in the universe will now be spoken in what has been called the common tongue".

The information was hard to take in, Alveron had been seen as strange to his race due to how smart he had been. Not many Draconian possessed as much intelligence as he had. What he had gathered so far was that his world had been taken over by something, he now spoke a new language, and that this situation was messed up.

"What is the purpose of this place?" Asked Alveron.

"Here you will create your new body, everyone in the new world must start on an equal footing for balance. You will retain your memories, however, you will start with a new basic body as your race is naturally strong, the only way to grow more powerful will be by leveling up however as your tier increases so to may the rules governing your races power.”

The Draconians had been in a medieval stage of growth, science did not exist so the concept of gaming was completely new to them.

Opting to silently follow instructions instead of wasting time asking pointless questions, Alveron decided to simply listen. The dragon told him that currently, his form was that of his core which would become a vital part of his new body. The dragon also mentioned that it was not a true dragon, and had taken on the appearance of a dragon to make the process easier due to Alverons' race. Next, the process of body creation was explained.

Alveron listened to the dragon and followed the instructions given to create a new body. A template appeared, a standard Draconian, weak in comparison to his old visage stood before him. Being told he could customize it to a certain degree, Alveron shaped the body to copy his younger appearance. By Draconian standards, adulthood began at the age of 40 when they had fully matured. Finally finished, standing before him was a copy of his 40-year-old self, 30 years younger than his current age at the beginning of his prime.

There he was standing 2 meters in height, shaped exactly like a human except for taller and broader. A mixture of dark red and black armored scales adorned his entire body which helped with camouflage. Draconians also possessed other bestial features from birth, a tail grew out from their lower back, which was also covered in scales and possessed offensive capabilities, A short pair of horns adorned his crown giving the race a demonic vibe. The most fearsome aspects of a draconian, however, were their claws which when strengthened could tear through almost anything.

Next, a status page appeared

“Your race Draconian strangely is a cross between a dragon and another race on your new planet. I can't go into more details than that or explain your history. What I should tell you, however, is that your character sheet is based on the limited system, due to your bestial blood, There are 2 types of character sheets, limited and control, this is simply because certain races such as yours are considerably more powerful and can handle the power increase, however, as the weaker races gain strength their natural shackles will be released and the limited sheet may be forced upon them. The System which has caused this has given the weaker races more control over their stats to keep it balanced.

So your stats are easy to explain. You have 3, Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Body includes Strength, Agility, Constitution, Stamina, and Stamina Regeneration.

Mind Includes Intelligence, Perception, and Dexterity.

Spirit includes Max Mana, Mana Regeneration, Willpower, and Luck.

You also innately possess the law of fire due to your race however it has been refined down to its most basic form if you wish to learn more you can choose it as one of your studies."

After a brief explanation from the fake dragon about what each stat did, Alveron finally began to understand the concept of the new word.

"Now finally, ill give you a little bit of information and then you will select your subjects. The system is creating a new world by merging 4 together. The races will compete with each other, but you will learn the details after the Tutorial period ends. To make your new world balanced, the races have been given different boons and disadvantages. For example, your race is stronger than normal; however, it has a much smaller population than the other races, and in turn, were given the law of fire to compensate."

Alveron understood this very well. Back on his planet, the plant species possessed a huge population. Individually they were easy to defeat, however, the race possessed creatures capable of hive mind control, this was where problems would arise. A huge plant swarm controlled by one powerful entity had been hard to defeat.

"Finally you can choose 3 topics to study over the next week while your new world is being created. The list is as follows."

A screen appeared with hundreds of topics. Alveron was stupefied as there was so much to choose from. Some of the ones which stood out had been the intro to the Laws, basic combat, beast taming, mana manipulation, inner world guide, standard items, The status screen advanced guide, A guide to classes, and a beginner profession guide (1).

The list went on and on, and Alveron showed great patience, looking over each of the choices before he decided on the path forward.

"What you learn may prove to be helpful in the new world, so choose carefully".

Heading this advice, Alveron made his 3 choices. Opting to gain a better understanding he chose, Basic intro to the Laws, The status screen advanced guide and a menagerie of common ranked skills.

Hoping that the choices would prove useful, he was transported to a small room in which he would study for the next week until the Tutorial ended.

The subjects were incredibly intricate, three books had appeared on the table before him each holding hundreds of pages, unfortunately, Alveron had one week to extract as much information from the vital pages as he could.
