Chapter 18 Territory Management

Chapter 18 Territory Management

Daimon silently watched as his new tamed python feasted on the bodies of the creatures in the surroundings. The amount of food his new pet could consume was astonishing, countless intact creatures were swallowed whole, all the while the Python's belly remained the same size The feast came to an abrupt halt when the bodies simply vanished into thin air after the despawn timer came to an end cleaning the territory of the smell, bodies, and blood which a few seconds ago plagued the land.

Looking at his newly cleaned territory filled with giant holes, and littered with the broken cliff edge, he pulled up the newly added territory management tab. It unfortunately was a black slate that informed him to purchase a territory management orb. Perusing the shop he found what was needed.

Territory management orb basic -2 planetary coins -

The cost was extreme, priced at 2 Planetary coins or twenty thousand star coins was not a price Damion could afford for something which he didn't really have any interest in. He still for example had to buy his way into a profession, buy a sword and a range of other useful tools and items he had seen. Knowing this he spoke to Albert.

"Albert this, it's too expensive," he stuttered, "Have you got any ideas for me or should I forgo this territory for now."

Almost with an insidious laugh, one which Daimon was sure came from the joker, Albert replied.

> "Rember I mentioned something about buying upgrades for me from the shop? Well in this case an upgrade to me, will help you. Simply type companion upgrades into the shop and you will see what I mean."

"Maybe I should just save up the money I haven't looted the loot bot yet, we may be rich." Replied Daimon smugly.

> "No please wailed Albert. I'm extremely useless right now, upgrades will give me more to do. I am much more competent than some scripted orb. We will turn you into the biggest territory owner the universe has ever seen I promise". He then added the biggest Benefit. "It can make you loads of money he said in a pleading voice."

Now that Daimon could get behind. Money seemed to rule the universe, considering how expensive the shop was and the low drop rate of good items from monsters, he needed all the money he could get his hands on. Using the shop once more he searched for companion upgrades and was met with 3, what was strange was the message what came with it.

This is a private page given only to those with System companions, at any giving time there will be 3 options buy one and another becomes available.

The options whereas followed.

System Companion upgrades

Pet assimilation - your companion becomes the core of one of your pets- gains full control of pet permanently - 50 Planetary coins.

Territory management capabilities - Give the Companion access to all territory management duties - 8000 Star coins.

By the Law -System companion gains access to one law of your choice, limited by Laws you currently possess. Gains a limited mana pool - 15 Planetary coins.

The options were amazing especially the Pet assimilation, however, the cost of the first and third skill was way out of Daimon's budget currently, selecting Territory management capabilities he watched as Albert was enveloped in bright white light. When the light died down Daimon saw that Albert now had a strange marking depicting what he could only call a continent engraved onto his exterior.

"What is that mark Albert?"

> "That mark depicts my first upgrade, it grants me the upgrade you just purchased and allows other System companions to view my power. Now go have a look at your Territory management it should now be updated."

Owned territories

Defense

Daily Production

Black elk plains

100 Units

"Ok I can see the territory, Defence, and production that's it Albert what next?"

> "Well the rest is controlled by me with your guidance Daimon, hence the upgrade. Think of your territory like a dungeon, you can create defenses erect buildings, and in some cases loan the land out to other lifeforms they will defend it and use it as a home, and you gain the production value. Production can, however, be negotiated, for example, lifeform A wants to live here and defend it, they ask you for 25% of production which they can use on the territory as they please."

>

> This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

"Ok so how do I increase production and create defenses? More importantly, what will this cost me."

> "This will cost you nothing unless you want it to, all buildings and defense can come from the production value known as units, hell you could even create a dragon for a huge sum of Units. Production is increased based on what is build here, what dies on the land, and the lifeforms defending it" Shall we get started?

"Yes let's do it replied Daimon now slightly intrigued".

"Ok let's build you a house first can't live in that cave forever, where would you like it?"

"Place it right at the base of the remaining cliff Albert" Getting the ok from Albert he watched as a building materialized from the ground up, it was small occupying a 6x6m area and contained only one room a door, and a window checking the notification he noticed that it cost a whopping 25 units to build.

> "Before you go marveling over your new palace let's get some defenses up, Based on what was slain here So far you can create defense these will also be available for every other territory you gain"

Rabbit warren 10 Units. Level 1 kill 98 to progress.

Bird Sanctuary 35 Units. Level 1 Kill 76 to progress.

Storm Kamori Wind Tunnel 75 Units. Level 3 Kill 500 to progress.

Rock Giant quarry 1000 Units. Level 1 Kill 23 to progress.

Beast Plain 300 Units. Level 2 Kill 250 to progress.

Giant wyrm 1500 Units Level 1 Kill 4 to progress.

"Ok so I can summon anything killed on my territories, each has a certain cost and a different type of building am I right so far Albert?"

> "Yes, you are, however, you missed a few things. Your options level up depending on how many creatures have been killed, you also don't need to personally do the killing if you summon a rock giant and it goes on a killing spree its kills will count towards your total, even if its random creatures killing each other on your land they to will count". The rarity of creatures is also taking into consideration, you need to kill 100 rabbits to get to level 2 and four earth wyrms to get to level 2 understand?"

"Yeah, I think I do. Let's test it out we have 75 Units let's build a Storm Kamori wind tunnel since it's level 3."

> "Good choice Daimon" Replied Albert.

On the right side of the cliff behind his new house, Daimon witnessed a tunnel being formed. Moving closer to take a closer look his Wind Law grew restless. He became excited This tunnel was a good source of the Law and training within should improve his understanding of it. What happened next however amazed him,

Command skill Active 5 members found... ERROR to many members, selecting highest levels available to form a team One perk available

Team 5/5 full

Daimon Santos leader, Burmese python, Storm Kamori beta x 2, Storm Kamori x1.

Perks available

members x 3

Physical damage +10%

Mana damage +10%

Movement speed +10%

Defense +10%

Judging the benefits he selected members x 3 and watched as 2 more Storm Kamori got added to the command interface, It now showed 7/8. Where however were his new soldiers? As if they sensed a command, 6 Storm Kamori appeared from the mouth of the tunnel and Holwed into the air before coming over and sitting beside Daimon.

> "Well done at level 3 it produced two beta kamori and 3 regular which is a vast improvement to the defenses, your production also went up to 125 Units per day" Spoke Albert excitedly.

"Forget about that Albert my command skill is now working" he shouted ecstatically.

"That's great you can go conquer more territories tomorrow then" replied Albert gleefully."

"Cant I ever get a day of" groaned Daimon.

> "Nope not when there are units to be produced, you can conquer more territories and use the units here set this up as a home base" Albert exclaimed.

It's a good idea whats the range on These Kamori? are they limited?

> "If you own a territory they can move to any adjacent unoccupied territories if you own 100 territories and they're all attached they can attack any unoccupied territory attached to yours."

"You did say that this would earn me money, all I see is a way to make an army?"

> "You have the opportunity to make an unlimited army of beasts sure they won't level individually but if they die they come back to life after a cetain time depending on their rarity and level, use the army to earn money take down high-level creatures rent your land out to other lifeforms and charge them rent and you can trade units for coins on the market."

"I assume the reverse is also true I can trade coins for units?"

> "Look it up" replied albert.

1Unit - 30 Star credits-

It wasn't too extortionate however it wasn't something he could throw coins at, he did, however, see the benefits of investing in territory not to mention the army he could gain, the coins he could make of selling units alone were lucrative. Albert however only mentioned the benefits he left things like your territory can be conquered by killing you out of his pitch, which Damion would find out later on.

"Ok thanks, Albert you didn't screw me this time" he finished the sentence with a yawn it was time for bed the tent, however, was back at the cliff and he was too tired to go to it. "How do I control these creatures Albert" "Just mentally command them it's easy" Replied Albert.

Doing so he found the connection with those in his war party was pretty strong, he told them to patrol the area until he slept.

Entering his house he lay on the hard wooden floor and closed his eyes, before he fell asleep he mentally sighed and remembered about the loot bot and his state gains. Oh well, they could wait until the morning, he decided it was time to sleep.

Meanwhile, Albert was looking over his new territory thinking about all the possibilities it could lead to in the future, he also thought gleefully about the upgrades he could achieve, pet assimilation was extremely profound and it was supposed to be an upgrade provided much further down the line. Figuring that it was the systems meddling he decided to let it be and hope that Daimon could get a great roll from the random pet wheel he had earned as a reward. Albert wanted a body however why settle for mediocre. It was also time to start thinking about the world tower which he would remind Daimon about tomorrow it was vital.
