Chapter 9- Angry Papa

Chapter 9- Angry Papa

"Come along, Nox," spoke aloud Sarah as she clapped her clawed hands together before lifting the gluttonous hybrid off the table. Whereupon he did mew pitifully, stretching out his forepaws towards the remaining cakes as he was carried away from the scene of his father doing his best to control the Madness that is within all Undead creatures. "Papa has work to do, so we mustn't bother him."

The moment they crossed the threshold, did they witness a large clawed, skeletal hand reach inside to pluck the God of Venyr, and pulled him outside, "Where do you think you're going, little Godling?" boomed the terrible voice of the Ageless, "As I recall, the arrest of your descendent has yet to be made known, as he was just arrested this turn. So how did you know about it?"

There was silence as Sarah swiftly strode down the hallway and into a small room containing knitting materials. The room itself had a small window on the opposite wall to allow what little light there was outside to enter, as well as a view of the rolling plains beyond the castle's walls. Its dimensions was approximately nine metres cubed, which wasn't a whole lot, but enough to allow the Goddess and whomever else was present to knit and weave in relative silence. Or, at least, as silent as gossiping women tended to be.

Yes. There were a few spindles here and there, but it was mostly just half a dozen sofas surrounding a small block of Shadowed Marble that weighed nearly two kilograms. This, of course, took in the darkness of much of the room, and brightened it with its unnatural abilities which contradicted how light was supposed to act.

In any case, there was a small box of toys which allowed Nox to play happily by himself, whilst she picked up a ball of yarn and knitting needle. Whereupon she did begin the task of creating a small scarf for her son, just as the world around them shuttered from the voice of their God King, "I do not care for your excuses, Godling. No mortals are allowed to set foot upon my home realm without explicit permission."

"Silence!" thundered the dreadful voice, "You will cease in your incessant whining. The only way a mortal is allowed entrance is by way of an extension from an Immortal, God, or Goddess who has already walked my halls.

"As I recall, you have already done so when you came to beg my person to save you and yours from the wars. Therefore, I am led to believe that their being here is your fault." More silence followed suit, as the God of Venyr was no doubt speaking towards the Ageless at this point. Which allowed Sarah a moment's rest as she was one of many who were terrified of his wrath, but was thankful she was never on the receiving end of such outbursts.

For at one point she believed her worth was over once Nox was born, and dreaded the day her husband would come to remove her due to the fact that he had what he always wanted. Except it never came. In fact, although he was still an Undead being, the God King showed even more love for her person, and always sought to make sure she was happy. Though these fears were never voiced, she was still terrified of his person whenever such outburst came forth from his being. Which led to her flinching every time his voice thundered and boomed throughout the worlds, only relaxing whenever he, himself, was calmer.

At that time, though, she did her best to hide such feelings from Nox. Of whom was quite observant, and very intelligent for his young age. It was here that he crawled into her lap in order to stare up at her visage with large and somewhat watery eyes, his ears lying flat against his skull. For this was his "Puppy-Dog Stare", and was quite effective against those of whom enjoyed "cute" creatures and things. Which meant his parents were no different, for once she noticed such a gaze, did the Goddess set her needle and yarn off to the side in order to hug her son close.

"There, there, Mama," Nox mewed softly, returning the hug and patting her right shoulder, "No crying, Okay?"

"Okay," she muttered softly just as the thunder of the Ageless's voice started up again.

"You dare to state that I was the one who invited the worthless flesh of a Venyr in to my own home?" laughed the Ageless as the skies above them grew far darker than normal, "Little Godling, regardless of where the blame lies, the facts are still clear: Your descendant sought to purchase my own flesh and blood from my wife. Not only this, but he desired to slay him for what? Medicinal properties from a bygone era?

"Oh yes. I am well aware of your traditions and beliefs, and have found them to be nothing more than mere superstitions."

Once again, more silence followed as the other party was no doubt upset by these words, which were soon followed with, "You and yours have wiped out many a race, both great and small, all for your desire of immortality. After you've gained it, what did you do? You told them a lie in order to remove all obstacles that would challenge your rights as a God. Oh yes, little Godling, I know of this tactic quite well. For there are many amongst my Pantheon who have walked down such a path many times before you even had a thought outside your mother's womb.

"However, you are one of the few who've gone a little too far." Thunder rolled across the realm at this point, whilst the clouds above showered the land with lightning, the colour of Madness and Chaos as his voice rose even higher, "You enslaved the world's CHILDREN, and yet you come to my person with the hopes of saving what you believe is rightfully yours? Little Godling, I had given you my laws to follow, and yet you've taken pains to subvert my rulings. What with you stating that they could keep their slaves, but could not make anymore?

"No, little fool of a God. Tenant Number Two states that all who come into the Pantheon of Terra must dissolve all forms of slavery upon their worlds. Those who do not follow such tenants are not fit to live. Which means exactly as I have stated, God of Venyr.

"You. Must. Die."

This was followed by more silence as the God shouted something which barely echoed upon the castle's stones. Which caused the God King of the Terran pantheon to laugh a hauntingly booming laughter, "Leave my Pantheon, Little Godling? No, no, no. You cannot leave. For my word is law, as I am an Ageless, and no one here has the strength to stand up to my person. At least, none that care to do so.

"Ah, but you are no longer fit to rule your world, and I shall give it to another... 'Can't do this?' Oh, little Godling, I have already done so. Now you will give unto my person your everything. From your right to rule Venyr, down to your memories and skills. For I desire it so." What came after such words coloured the world in a vermillion red, as the unearthly, and dying screams of a God pierced through their world and into Terra's. Whilst those within the Ageless's home shivered from the sounds, they simply went about their business as best they could. Whereas those upon the world connected to this one did not know how to react, and prayed to their own deities to make it stop. Of which did so, but only after the god King had stolen everything from his target's mind.

This led to him sighing as the world about his person brightened by the light of the lonely, full moon high above, as his form took on his Kitsune self once more. Which caused him to vanished from the gardens outside, and in the knitting room which held Sarah and Nox who embraced one another as Mother and Son.

"Papa," mewed the hybrid with great glee, as he leapt from his mother's embrace, and into his father's. Whereupon they did snuggle against one another for a time, before releasing each other with the child nestled against the other's neck fur.

"I do apologise for scaring you two," spoke the Ageless in a more civilised tone.

"It's okay, Ageless," came Sarah's reply as she stood up and smoothed her one-piece dress for a moment before embracing her husband with a slight shiver, "Just don't do that at home, okay? You scare me every time this happens."

"No promises, my dear. No promises, but I shall try."
