In this story, a wholly unremarkable human is turned into a fresh red paste by a semi-truck and visited by the spectre of the afterlife: Death. Unfit for paradise or damnation, Death offers this human the choice of reincarnating into another world to live another life. A doorway is chosen, a mysterious blessing is granted, and our protagonist regains their senses within the confines of an egg. Some time passes and they hatch into their new life a a small reptilian creature of a bipedal nature, otherwise known as a Kobold.
