Chapter 8: Dice and Cards (part 1)

Melton and Mathias went into the Casino and what they found inside was quite fascinating. The casino was made from marble and decorated with gold and blue crystals along with some carpets and paintings. The combination of those three colors was quite a sight to behold. It was giving off a feeling of royalty, superiority, and divinity. At the front was a reception with an elegant man in a blue outfit with golden buttons and some kind of silver badge. They approached him to get information about the casino since it was the first time entering it for both Melton and Mathias.

"Good evening gentleman. How may I help you" The man said in a calm and kind voice

"Hello. This is our first time entering here so we would like to get some information about the games, the way people bet on them, and where to go to play" Melton replied

"Oh of course our dear guests. You can head either left or right to enter the great hall where all the games are being held. It consists of two floors but there is no difference between them and the games are the same. On the leftmost side of the first floor is a bar and on the second floor a bit deeper in there are private rooms. As for money, you can use the money this country provides or in case you have a different currency you can exchange it here at my desk for an equal amount. If you wonder about games we have all classics such as poker, blackjack, roulette, and such."

"All right. Thank you for the information"

And so Melton and Mathias went right side and entered the main hall. It was a large and pretty decorated place, far prettier than the entrance. Melton was quite surprised with such a sophisticated and elegant design while Mathias was in complete awe looking and pointing at everything. The game went on and the bets started to raise. First round they increased bets to ten, the next one to fifty, and the third round was an entire platinum coin. Melton thought to himself that the guys he is messing around with are quite rich and that they are probably dangerous. He was not sure what to do so he decided to increase the bet to two platinum coins. Other gentlemen were quite surprised but intrigued by his bold decision and decided to follow. The total money on the table amounted to 14 platinum coins and 40 gold coins and it was time to reveal the hand. The bald man and the one in the red tuxedo got straight while the one in brown got flush. Since Melton had a full house he was the one who got all the money.

"Impressive kid. But you better hit it because if you keep going your luck will run out" Said the bald man. A pretty lady handed him a glass of martini which he lit with his finger and drank up. Melton felt provoked by that so he decided to stay a bit longer. They kept betting and Melton somehow managed to win most of them and obtain a profit. Up until now, he amassed 100 platinum which is already 1/5 of what he needs. After joking around about how it seems he has enough luck after all, suddenly, a large group of servants from the casino gathered to make an announcement.

" Attention everyone. The owner of the casino, Demi the Dice, is about to make an appearance"

Everyone stopped betting and turned their eyes toward the path the workers set up. It seemed like that "Demi" guy was quite an important person.

"So. Who exactly is this Demi guy?" He asked the guys at his table.

"WAIT! YOU DON'T KNOW?!. He is the most successful and dangerous gambler in the world. They say he never lost a single bet and not only that. I heard someone say that he is crazy strong too."

The lights went out everywhere except the blue path that was set up. On the path was a strange man that walked to the balcony of the second floor and started speaking

"OH, DARLINGS! I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE YOU ALL HERE. MY NAME IS DEMI AND I AM HERE TO MAKE A NIGHT WONDERFUL FOR EVERYONE."

Then the lights went back on and it was easier to see. The man wore a white tuxedo with blue and gold embroidery. His hair was blue, curly, and long, about shoulder length. His skin was very pale and he had both blue lipstick and eyeliner on himself which made him look like someone who looks too glamorous to the point where they resemble a clown. He started walking down toward Melton's table and said

"OH MY. IT SEEMS WE HAVE QUITE AN INTERESTING FIND HERE"
