Melton slowly began to gain his consciousness back. Once his eyes slowly opened up he saw a blue sky with some clouds around. As he was slowly collecting his senses back he was already aware he did go to another world. Something that, according to his previous beliefs and knowledge, was considered a lunatic idea forged by foolish people who cannot differentiate reality and fiction.
"Heh. I did get sent here like some kind of dog. The air is quite fresh but the greens are not as green as I expected them to be. Where in the hell am I?" Melton said to himself. It seems as if he tried to reassure himself he is not dreaming and keep his sanity in check.
"Am I healed from my illness as well? That would be quite handy."
As he said that, Melton tried to stand up but fell to the ground. He tried again and managed to stay on his legs but they were not holding quite well.
"It seems like they are back to normal but still need to be used a bit. I haven't used them for a few months so this should be something obvious"
After messing around for about ten or twenty minutes he managed to get used to his legs once again. Getting back his ability to function like a normal person gave Melton motivation so he sighed in relief.
"Ahhhh. To think I can go on my own to legs after so long. I better make use of this opportunity and find the necessary things first. From what I can see all around me it looks like I was reincarnated in a region filled with Hills. Not as bad as being on the mountain but still a bit depressing. When I went on the trip with the family regions with hills and mountains were the worst since the look of nature was very unsaturated with color. Well... Nothing I can do about it so it's better to try to find something useful before it gets dark."
And so Melton went exploring. Just as he guessed the region was plain and boring so there were not a lot of things to find. It was a trip of going from the high ground and search something to going down and trying to reach another place he believed is good for scouting. After doing so for about two hours he decided to sit down and rest a bit. The grass was short and the ground was hard and moist so it was uncomfortable to sit on. The only thing that made it worse was the fact that Melton was completely naked. He was not exactly sure why was he able to keep his original body yet not given clothes but he also had no excuse to complain.
After resting for about thirty minutes he collected enough mental strength to finally get his all up and go for search again. His primary goal was going to be to find a source of water. Humans can survive far longer starving than being dehydrated and food is easier to obtain once water is secured. That is the reason some of the greatest nations were built around rivers where they not only had a source of drinking water but also the opportunity to start their cultivation. Melton thought to himself that he could also make use of that fact. If settlements are bound to be founded near rivers it was a matter of just following the river. In regions with uneven altitudes, people prefer to build them in the flat part surrounded by said hills. After he set his goal in mind he went on to search again. This time his legs got completely used to walking so he did not have trouble going for hours. After three hours he managed to spot something that looked like a river passing through a forest. He knew that the forest will probably mean trouble but he still decided to go with it since it was his only hope of progressing. After he resolved his thoughts he went toward the forest.
The forest he went in was medium in size and was consisting of mostly evergreen trees. Melton knew that there is a chance of encountering something so he picked a stick and a rock he found while going through the forest. If something smaller was to approach him he could throw the rock, which was about the size of his palm, on it to scare it away or, if he was lucky with it, even get a kill. In case something larger approached and he could not avoid confrontation he had the stick which was somewhat sharp at one point to use as a tool.
After roaming in the forest a bit he found some unusual things that he never witnessed in his previous life. Some animals and plants which he could never think of in his previous life. He was even a bit impressed by them but out of fear that his new life may end a bit too soon from unknown food or beast he decided to be on guard. He also took some time to sharpen his stick with some rocks he found and make it into a spear that can inflict damage to something will it be needed for something like that? After obtaining his first actual weapon in this world he went forward and continued his adventure in which he searches for a river.

After walking for about one hour he started to hear some weird noises. He immediately noticed it since he was on his toes all the time. He immediately climbed up a tree and carefully observed what was going on. Something was making noise out of the bushes and out of them happened to come to a goblin. It was an ugly creature, about one meter tall with a large curved nose, and was olive green in color. Melton was not sure if should he be fascinated by seeing one of the monsters for the first time or disgusted by its appearance.
"Damn. Things this ugly exist here? I better be prepared if all of the monsters look as bad as this fellow does." Melton thought to himself.
"I better finish him quickly before something bad happens. He also got a piece of cloth on himself. It looks like my ass won't be as bare as it is now." Melton said with a smug face and threw his spear directly at the goblin. The spear hit his head and killed the goblin on the spot but the blood that was spilled also made a piece of cloth dirty.
"Well. They are quite bloody but at least I won't have to go naked anymore. It's also washable, unlike the hole this dude got." Melton said to himself and took the piece of cloth. He tried to get it without making it bloodier and put it around his waist as soon as possible. Now at least his vital spot is not in a visible location. Upon retrieving his spear he noticed that the point got broken when it hit the ground so he had to sharpen the other side of it.
" This is what I call good use of a stick," Melton said. He was proud of using the same stick to make a spear again.
Once he remade his spear he went forward once again in search of the river. After about two hours he finally reached it. The river was about three meters long and at its deepest point, it was about half a meter so there were not a lot of fish that could pass through it. It did not matter to Melton since this was his first chance to drink water again after so long. He drank as much as he could and then proceeded to go down the river.
After about three more hours it was getting dark so he decided to sleep. It was not safe to just lay on the ground so he climbed on one of the bigger trees and slept on it. Since it was summer it was not too cold and he could fall asleep without dying from hypothermia. Upon falling asleep he managed to rest from the entire day of walking. He also knew he is going to do the same tomorrow so the only thing he could do is rest well. Upon waking up, and almost falling over, he climbed down and once again washed himself down. After walking the entire day and wearing bloody cloth you start to stench quite a lot.
After that wet Melton got his spear and went down the river for the next five or six hours. Since he woke up early and already had the idea of what he was doing he could maybe even get lucky and find someone by the time darkness falls once again and that hope gave him strength. Two more hours of walking and he finally found a tree of figs nearby.
"FINALLY!!!!"
Seeing a source of food after so long made Melton nearly cry with joy and made his morale skyrocket. He immediately rushed towards the tree and started stuffing his mouth with figs. The figs were sweet but also a bit bitter since they were not ripe yet but that meant nothing to a hungry man. After eating so much he nearly threw up he washed the bitter taste down with water and went walking once again. This time he felt as if he was unstoppable and his feet felt light.
Upon walking for about four more hours he finally reached his destination. All that walking was not just pointless. His efforts finally paid off. He found a city. It looked like a smaller city reinforced by walls the same way the ones in fantasy stories are.
"I finally found people. Now I can do something instead of just suffering and walking" Melton said to himself as he was walking towards the gate. His legs were heavy from all the walking and he was barely moving but still hung to his strength.
He immediately threw his spear away, stopped the following the river, and went straight toward the gate that he noticed.
At the front gate were two guards talking to each other
"Hey. Who the hell is that?" One of them said
"Who?" The other one said
"The guy going towards us," The first one said pointing towards Melton
"He looks like a caveman." The second one said
"Yeah. God knows where he's been to."
In front of them was Melton. A 17-year-old male with a lighter shade of brown hair, completely wet since he was unable to properly dry himself, with nothing but a bloody cloth tied around his waist.
