Mathias was sleeping inside the carriage completely carefree while Melton was sitting across from him. It seemed as if he was still not waking up. While they were traveling outside the capital city the rain was falling. Since the carriage was covered they did not have troubles. Instead, the sound of the rain was giving off a feeling of relaxation and drowsiness as they traveled across monotone fields. This time they went with a high-quality carriage often used as a way to transport luxuries or get a quick and stable ride from one place to another if the one riding is kind enough to let you in. The price was quite large but the difference in speed in comparison to the regular carriage was quite noticeable. It was also covered so for Melton this was the ideal way to move since things like trains and planes do not exist in this world. They traveled north for about three days before encountering any sort of city or village so they had to camp outside or sometimes even sleep in the carriage.
As they continued to travel towards the north the terrain was quite flat so there was no issue with going forward. Since the terrain was quite flat, it just messed up with their time perception since the scenery was mostly static fields. After going on for about three more days they finally encountered a large city. It was the checkpoint where they would restock before reaching a northern city named Protos. They got some of the supplies while the merchant who was letting them ride on his carriage was doing his job and selling some materials that were in the crates and barrels he was carrying.
Melton decided they would need to restock some food and go have dinner at the inn. They went into the inn the merchant recommended but this time he did not allow Mathias to drink any alcohol since he knew that the man would not get sober for a few days. Mathias looked at Melton with his sad, pitch-black, puppy eyes but it did not affect him since for his fellow companion finishing the mission and getting more intel was the top priority. Mathias ordered meat skewers while Melton decided to go for a creamy soup along with some beef jerky. He also ordered two jugs of cow milk and told Mathias that he needs to add definition to his skeletal mass. Mathias passed off the advice and dug in with his food. It was soft and juicy meat from cattle which was fed quite often. The meat was only flavored with simple salt yet the way it was cooked brought its taste to the maximum. It seemed Mathias was enjoying his food. Melton thought to himself that it is most likely the result of him being tired from all the traveling and camping but it did not change the fact that he felt slight relief to see his buddy and companion sharing and enjoying a meal with him. He also felt glad he did not have to see him once again crawling onto the floor while reeking of ale he drinks all night long while singing songs about beautiful women, brave heroes, and kinds saints slaying vile beasts and cleansing the corruption within the walls of their homeland while keeping themselves away from the same corruption mentioned.
After finishing the meals and paying the price, which amounted to about 24 silver coins, they went shopping for some bread, dried jerky, and a few other things that they can make use of during their stay at the Protos. They also discussed some ideas on how they can find and deal with Doomblade but since they had no detailed information about his plan of action or place of stay, except for the fact that he will strike Protos soon, it was more of a chitchat that it was a tactical discussion. Melton was also a bit unsure would Mathias and he even be able to do something to plan strategies since his pal is the type of guy to just go all out from the start. As they went on shopping the day passed and they met up again with the merchant. He informed them that they will be staying in the town for a night so the horse can rest properly. He also lead them to the inn they would all be staying at so they wouldn't need to go search for each other and waste their time. After reaching the inn Melton immediately made sure Mathias will go to sleep and not get drunk again since not it would also cause trouble to the merchant. Mathias was disappointed he had to stay sober for the entire night but he had no choice but to agree. After sleeping the night over they all gathered at the inn and had their dinner. After finishing with it they continued their travels and finally reached Protos after traveling for about four more days.
The city was massive, nearly as large as the capital itself, but the buildings looked fortified and there was not much beauty in them. As they crossed the gate they parted their ways with the merchant, paying him in the process, and went in for little exploring of the town. The priority was to find an inn to stay at and any clues they could find about the Council of Torment. After wandering around for a while they decided they will stay at the inn that was near the west wing of the city. After the dinner which was a large struggle of Melton trying to keep Mathias sober, they went to their rooms and go to sleep. After laying in his bed Melton was thinking about how he can get information about the Council when suddenly he heard an explosion outside the inn.
After rushing out of his room he met up with Mathias and they quickly went out to check what is going on. Outside they saw a fire spreading while a tall man with grey skin was slaughtering people. He was just the way the intel Demi gave them described him. A tall and muscular man with gray skin uses powerful weapons that are stuck in his own body.
When they saw him Mathias quickly fused his hands to form a large energy blast and aimed straight at him. He kept slaughtering innocent civilians around him until he noticed the energy blast and crossed his hands to block it. His hands were burnt but unlike other cases, he was completely fine. After a few seconds, his hands regenerated from injury and he tore off a limb from the body of a woman he just killed. After swallowing the entire hand his eyes started glowing red and he screamed in rage

"Uaghh!!!"
"Looks like I will need to take care of this one Mathias. Can you cover me?"
"Sure pal" Mathias replied and started firing a barrage of beams.
All of them aimed at Doomblades arms which held a double-sided axe and a tetsubo. Melton quickly formed his armor and rushed to attack the monster with all he got but Doomblades was skillfully blocking all of their attacks with his right hand, which is holding a double axe, and then swung Tetsubo with all his might from his left hand towards the right side of his body. Melton noticed that the speed and strength of that swing were too much for him so he decided to duck instead. Upon ducking he punched the knee of his enemy with all of his strength which made him lose his footing and fall to one knee. Doomsblade started getting worked up so he swung his axe at Melton but he quickly ejected himself in the air using bone from his feet. Upon doing so he fused both of his gloves into a greatsword and pierced the enemy in the back but instead of falling Doomsblade hit Melton directly in his chest, shattering the bone armor in the process, and sending him flying on the wall that was few meters away from him. After Melton was sent flying to the wall there was a large smoke from the crash but that did not stop Doomsblade from throwing his axe at the place he believed Melton landed. The axe started flying toward the smoke cloud when suddenly, out of the smoke, a huge bone javelin traveled back at him and destroyed the axe. Since the javelin was a bed news Doomsblade grabbed his tetsubo with both of his hands, rose it up, and shattered the javelin but the impact was so strong that shattered pieces pierced his body and he used so much strength that his weapon was stuck in the ground. Before he had time to take it out or take another weapon from his body Melton quickly fired another javelin which pierced his stomach and pinned him to the wall. After that, he quickly hit him with four smaller ones on each of his hands and feet thus immobilizing him completely. After doing so he out of the wall he was thrown at and approached Doomsblade.
"Uaghhh!!!!"
"SO. Got any news about your masters we can get?"
"YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING"
Melton pulled a few bones out of his spine and started piercing Doomblades body. After torturing him for a bit it seemed like he was willing to say something but as soon as he tried to say a word his whole body completely lit on green fire. He started screaming in agony and after a few seconds, there was no trace of him. Even the weapons and his body were completely turned to dust.
"Heh. So I guess I got nothing huh?" Melton said to himself before collapsing due to exhaustion and injuries.
Mathias quickly went in to help him and then guards arrived. After surrounding them they found out from the local seamstress that Melton and Mathias fought Doomblade who was terrorizing towns. After hearing stories of the ones who witnessed the scene they quickly picked Melton up and brought him to the infirmary.
After Melton Woke up he saw a knight with blonde hair and green eyes sitting next to his bed. He asked the knight what happened and the knight told him how he saved many innocent men and women from their demises. After having a chat for a while Melton found out that the guy he was talking with was the vice commander of the Knights' order in Protos. After exchanging a few words the knight, whose name was Henry, would like to join them. It seems like the Council of Torment resulted in his hometown getting burned to the ground along with a lot of his family members which forced him to work hard from a young age to be able to feed himself and his younger sister who was the only one that survived. After resting for a few days Melton called Mathias and Henry and they went back to the capital to report to Demi that they managed to strike Doomsblade down.
In a certain castle the night after Doomsblade was defeated
The castle was quite dark and the only thing illuminating it was moonlight but since the moon was full it provided more than enough. In a castle, there was a meeting room with a long table. On that table, there was nines eats, four on each side and one at the top. The top seat was not getting any moonlight so the person sitting on it was not visible. The only thing that we could see was a dark silhouette. The man at the top began speaking.
"Greeting my dears. Hope you all know why I called all of you here. It seems like one of our cute little pets got caught up in some trouble he could not get out of."
"Jeez. What a waste of good weapons " Said the man in the sixth seat. He was short, bulked up, his skin was red, he had six arms and on his face, there was only one eyeball without any mouths, noses, or even ears.
"I thought your weapons would be enough for him," said the man on the seventh table. He was in heavy knight armor covered completely in some sort of black rust.
"Jeez. Don't blame him. It's not his fault after all" Said the man on the second seat, the one right next to the head. The person on that seat was an elf who was unusually tall and thin. His limbs are more than one meter long and his neck is at least half a meter long even though they are so thin you can see his bones. He was at least four meters tall, his skin was completely pale and he had two-meter-long black hair. On his face, he had blue eyes and very thick eyebrows along with thin lips and a small goatee beard on the top of his very sharp chin.
"So you will take care of the ones who did this," said the man at the first chair.
"Of course Lord Helios. Did I ever make disappointed in all these years I serve my Lord."
"You better make it worth my time. The meeting is finished" Helios said
"As you wish. My Lord"
And then the silhouette of Helios disappeared and everyone went on their way.
