Mathias and Melton exited the capital and started heading towards a forest infested with monsters. Mathias was, as always, explaining to Melton a bunch of things such as the differences between animals and monsters. Monsters are creatures that defy upper beings' existence. Animals are liked by upper beings and can be allied with humans while monsters have a more demonic nature and powers with exclusive use for bringing damage and pain to others.
"A few days ago there was a sighting of a B-rank monster called Bear Warrior. Just as the paper said it is a large bear with tough skin and six arms. In some cases, they can even wield weapons which can be quite a pickle for others."
"Wasn't it a better idea to get more info from the receptionist?"
"It's fine we can take it out easy peasy" Mathias assured Melton "It is also a good chance for you to learn to use your ability in interesting ways so I am eager to see."
"Well. I am thinking of growing bones from multiple bones so there are fewer openings or a chance to run. Firing them like throwing knives from hands would also be quite useful." Melton started getting less tense and more immersed in his ideas.
Mathias hit him slightly on his back and said "That's the spirit" and started laughing.
As they went further into the forest near the capital they encountered a group of goblins. Melton tried to use his ability and was surprised at how easy it was to pierce goblins. Mathias got excited and started clapping which killed Melton's mood pretty quickly so they went forward again.
Upon searching for about half an hour they finally found their prayer. It was a 4-meter large bear with 6 arms. In their top right hand, he was holding a giant wooden club.
Mathias: "C'mon man. He is all yours"
Melton: "Are you sure I can do it"
Mathias(white touching the right side of his head with his index finger) "You just gotta use brain man"
Melton sighted and went forward. He was slowly forming a thick javelin from his right palm and a blunt ball-shaped bone from his left palm. He fired the sphere directly at a bear. While Bear got hit by the sphere and got agitated Melton thought to himself "I just hope this works. I just have to let him get closer and wait for the right moment. If I do it too soon it will be the end for me". The bear immediately started running towards Melton on two legs. When the bear got closer it let out a big roar and went for the hit but the moment it opened its mouth Melton was ready to fire. "Eat this dumbass," Melton said as the javelin launched from his palm and went inside the bear's mouth. While the javelin made of thick bones was traveling towards the bear's mouth Melton got a smug on his face and tough for a second "Even if you have a skin made of steel the insides of your mouth and the organs will always be soft and even if it does not breach your brain once your spinal cord is cut it is the end for you". Fortunately for Melton, his plan went exactly the way he expected it to. When he was in his world he always wondered why people in fantasy stories never go for the soft insides when a monster such as a dragon starts roaring and wanted to check if would it work since he got an opportunity in this new world and it did wonders. The wear insides were splashed from the inside and the javelin even managed to pierce the poor bastard's skin. Mathias came rushing full of excitement and started yelling.

"WOOO Man!! I did not see that coming. It went straight into its mouth and sent him to the good ol' afterlife. Now just let me check if there is a core in there somewhere" and opened a little hole with his index finger using a laser. After searching with one hand for a few minutes he pulled out a brown crystal that is about seven centimeters long.
"AHA! GOT IT!"
"What the hell is that?" Melton asked
"You see. Some monsters have these bad boys in them so when they kick the bucket we take them out. With a bit of engineering, you can make a device like a lamp or empower a piece of equipment such as armor or a weapon. They sell like cupcakes in the guild."
"But why do monsters even contain crystals"
"Stronger monsters have excessive power that crystalizes in their bodies and makes them stronger. The longer it is alive and the stronger it is the better the crystal."
"So. How much is that one?"
"Since it's quite a nice piece of crystal and Bear Warriors are neither that common nor easy to take out we can get a good set of cash. Not like I need it though. Since you seem to get a hang of your powers let's complete the quest and go have some fun" Mathias said as they headed towards the Capital. After giving the crystal as proof of subjugation Daisy prepared them a pouch with money which Mathias gave to Melton and then told him to follow him to a certain place. After they went out of the guild Mathias led Melton to a nice Inn called "Call of the Passions" where they sat and Mathias started ordering a bunch of food and drinks. The waitress, which was an elf with long ears and ash-colored hair, delivered their food one by one and then Mathias started digging in.
"C'mon Melton it will get cold. I also hope you are good at alcohol."
"Sorry but I prefer milk" Melton replied
"Milk liquor it is" Mathias replied with an index finger pointing up and ordered a weird type of liquor made from milk.
Melton started eating and drinking too alas at a slower pace than Mathias and the alcohol had a weaker effect on his body. After spending an entire night eating, drinking, and singing with the locals in the Inn, Mathias was barely able to remain conscious so Melton had to bring him into one of the rooms with two beds. He paid the waitress with a pouch he earned and she gave him change before he went to sleep as well. Before closing his eyes he was thinking how fun it was spending time with Mathias even though at the start he was against reincarnating. It seemed like he started getting used to the new environment and was thinking about finding clues for the Council of Torment and maybe getting a few more allies. As his thoughts started flying in and out of his head his eyes started slowly closing until he finally fell asleep.
