I thought my voice box was thoroughly damaged.
How wrong was I?
For I was now screaming from excruciating pain as the hellfire enveloped my body.
The pain of my broken heart was nothing compared to this.
I almost regretted jumping into the river.
Almost.
But as I remembered Alaric's devastated face as I fell, it was all worth it.
Eventually, all the pain was gone. It was replaced by a feeling of relief and contentment.
I accepted that this was my fate and this was the way I was gonna die.
Finally, I can rest.
I thought the fire would kill me, that it would finally put my exhausted soul to eternal sleep.
Again, I was wrong.
As my pale skin dissolved, it turned golden brown. My blond hair burned into ashes and was replaced by a long-red one. My eyes became black and my weak omega body was filled with abnormal strength and power.
I had no idea what was happening at first, but as these changes continued, I realized what was going on.
I was being reborn.
----------------------------------------
My body floated in the air and I was dropped into a nearby land. While I was still in a state of confusion, three deities appeared in front of me.

"Who are you?" I asked them. "Why did you save me? What happened to me?"
"Hold your tongue," one of them said. "We will tell you what you need to know."
"Who are you?" I asked again.
"We are the three fates," they answered in unison.
"I am Clotho, ″ said the first one.
"I am Lachesis," the second one said.
"And I'm Atropos," said the last one.
Honestly, I could not distinguish which is which because they all look the same.
Hmm... The Three Fates? Where have I heard them?
"Oh my!" I exclaimed as I remembered the ancient texts, I read about them. They are the three fates! They control the cycle of life. It was said that they were even more powerful than Zeus!
So why did they save me? I heard that they do not meddle in the affairs of other immortals. The last time they were sighted was when they prophesied the union of the destined demon and the heir of Selena.
"We saved you because your thread of life isn't over yet," Atropos replied.
"Thread?" I asked in confusion.
"Yes, thread." Clotho started to explain. "Everyone's fate is represented by a thread."
"We're famous weavers, you know," Atropos added.
"But I am a demon," I answered.
"Well, everyone has a fate, so everyone has a thread of life," answered Lachesis as she waved her hands. "Whether mortals, demons, or gods."
"Okay, but what happened to me? To my body?" I asked. "Am I still a demon?"
"Mmm... yes somehow, you still are," Clotho answered, somewhat evasively.
"Yes, partly," added Lachesis.
"Okay..." I said, not fully understanding what they were saying. "But why did you intervene? Aren't you supposed not to meddle in the affairs of immortals?"
They looked at each other. They seemed like they were talking without saying anything. It had been three full minutes before they finally faced me.
"Aroa, we think it is best to let you know who you are."
I looked at them. I definitely know who I am. What do they mean?
"You are Selena's daughter, the princess of wolves."
