Blood of Immortals
Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight

It was several years ago, on a humid night when young Alaric was captured by a rogue. It was a rare blue moon and most of the females were in heat. The males were busy tending to the needs of their mates.

The Alpha was also tending to the needs of the Luna, hence, the young Alaric was left to his own devices. Back then, Alaric was a naughty and curious boy. He was interested in many things. It was no surprise that when he saw a rogue for the first time, he didn't run in fear. He followed the rogue outside of the pack territory. Good thing though, young Ruse saw the kid following the rogue. She immediately called for help from unmated warriors, thereby, avoiding an unfortunate disaster.

It was because of this that Alaric treated Ruse better than other omegas, and even other wolves of higher status. The Alpha and the Luna also listen to her. They trust her for without her, their dear son would have already met Hades.

----------------------------------------

I was comparing the items on the list with the current stocks when suddenly, two large hands encircled my waist. It was Alaric.

"What are you doing?" I asked him in a very small voice after I faced him.

"Come with me," he answered then guided me to his quarters.

When we reached his bedroom, he locked the door. He looked at me, heat pooling in his eyes.

"I know, we still couldn't mate," he started "but I couldn't take it any longer."

"We can't, Alaric." If we do this, we can never go back. He would definitely be disowned by his father and I would be dead.

"I know," he said. "that's why I thought of a remedy to relieve my dissatisfaction."

"What remedy?" I asked, curiously." "Take off your underwear and give it to me."

I must have misheard him.

"What? No!" I almost shouted. How could he suggest that to me?!

"Please Aroa" he pleaded. And Alaric never pleaded. "I really love you. I will not hurt you."

Then, he held my shoulders and looked me directly in the eyes.

"Don't you trust me?" Alaric asked.

Don't you trust me?

Trust.

If there's one thing that I could never deny Alaric, that is my trust. I trust him. I will always trust and believe him. So, if he says, he will not hurt me. I shall believe him.

"Alright," I said after finally making up my mind.

Hesitantly, I took off my pants and underwear. He immediately grabbed my underwear and smelled it for a while.

"Sit on the bed and spread your legs," he ordered.

I sat on the bed and slowly parted my legs in front of him. This position, however, made me feel exposed.

"Wider."

Again, I followed him. I spread my legs, much wider this time.

"Spread your lips."

I hold the two sides of my nether lips and spread them using my fingers. To my surprise, Alaric started undressing. His shirt, his jeans, his briefs... For the first time in my life, I saw a penis. I didn't know what to think about it. It seems huge and ugly, but I have never seen a penis before so I have nothing to compare it of.

"Aroa!" he growled. His eyes were fixed on my core as his right hand began stroking himself. Then, he brought my underwear to his nose and started smelling it again.

"This is how you smell...ohhh! It is making me crazy!" he said as he continued jerking off.

His words and actions are having effects on me, but I remained frozen as I watched him finish. It didn't take long for me to regret our actions.

After that encounter with Alaric, I felt used...

Though, nothing happened, I was still feeling guilty. I had an unreasonable thought that I had just cheated on someone.

----------------------------------------

Today was the feast of the Moon Goddess. Most of the wolves were outside their homes as they joined the celebration on the streets.

I was assigned to prepare the temple where the ceremony for the moon goddess will be conducted. It was Cibil, a notable royal priestess, who will be leading the ceremony.

As I was counting the inventory, I noticed that we were lacking some candles. I decided to go to the warehouse to check if there were some candles left. On my way though, I witnessed Ruse being held captive by several men. They were hunters!

I decided to hide behind the bush and wait for a chance to save Ruse. "Go!" said the man holding Ruse.

"I can manage this one."

"Okay, just be careful. Even with silver, you could never be sure." another man said.

"Kill her immediately."

"Got it. Be sure to find the goblet" he said.

Then, the other men left to continue their search.

"Please, don't kill me," begged Ruse.

"You don't want to die?" He asked her mockingly. "Dream on bitch!"

As he dragged Ruse backward, I saw my chance coming. I sneaked behind him. When his back was just a foot away from me, I hit him with so much force that I heard his skull cracking. The man, in panic, stabbed Ruse in the chest before he finally collapsed on the ground.

"Ruse!" "Aroa..." she managed to say as she dropped to the ground.

"I... Let me get the healer." I told her in panic. "Please don't die on me."

"It's too late," she replied weakly. "There's no one in the Alpha residence. I would be already dead by the time you got help."

"No!"

"There's nothing you can do Aroa," she said as she vomited blood.

I paused for a moment. I know there is something I can do. I just have to calm down and think about it. I thought about my training under Alaric. I tried to remember all the ancient texts I have read. For the first time. I was thankful to Alaric for forcing me to study.

"Aroa. just let me be"

"Pssh!" I interrupted her. "I know what to do. I can save you." I told her with confidence.

After realizing what I needed to do, I grabbed the silver knife and helped Ruse to get inside the temple.

----------------------------------------

Once inside, I made Ruse lie on the floor.

"What are you gonna do?" Ruse asked. I looked at her.

"The blood spell."

"What's that? Is it safe?"

"It was a spell I read from ancient texts," I told her. "I need you to keep quiet for a bit."

She closed her eyes and didn't speak after that.

I tried to look for a container where I can drip my blood. I couldn't find anything that wasn't already containing oils and potions. Then, my eyes landed on the only cup in the center of the room. It remained untouched by anyone from the time it was brought here by the Alpha.

The Blood Goblet.

The caster has to offer his blood to the god of the underworld, Hades, by cutting a vein in the left wrist using a silver knife. After Hades blessed the blood, the sick person has to drink the blood within an hour or it will lose its effects.

I placed the goblet beside Ruse. Then, I took the knife and prepared myself for the impending pain. With all the courage that I have, I slashed my wrist with the silver knife. The pain was almost killing me, but I had to proceed. I ignored the pain and let my blood drip on the goblet. I offered my blood to Hades. I chanted the ancient spell and seconds later, the goblet shined.

Hades must have already blessed the blood!

I woke up Ruse to let her take my blood.

"Drink it," I told Ruse.

"But-"

"Just drink it!" I exclaimed. She silently drank the cup without any more complaints.

"I need to find help," I told her. "Just rest here for a while."

"Okay," she answered.

I snuck out of the temple to find help. Due to blood loss though, I was so dizzy that I lost consciousness. When I woke up, I was already in the infirmary. I remembered about Ruse and decided to call for help.

"Please help me," I told the nurse as she tended my wrist.

"What happened?" she asked, worried. "Do you feel any pain?"

"My friend! She needs help" I told her. "She was stabbed by a silver knife in the chest."

"Who is your friend? Where is she?"

"She is in the temple," I told her.

"Okay, let me contact a warrior," she said as she took out her phone from her pocket.

"What's her name?"

"Ruse Vio," I told her.

"Oh." Instead of dialing, she put back her phone in her pocket. "Ruse Vio?"

"Yes!" I answered immediately. "Please hurry!"

"No need," she replied calmly. "Your friend is safe. The royal priestess cured her personally"

"The Royal priestess?" I wondered why a high-profile seer would cure an Omega.

"Why?"

"Your friend, Ruse, is no ordinary wolf." I know, right? She's special. She's my friend! She paused for a moment before she finally continued.

"She's the missing daughter of Queen Selena." Then she added, "She is the princess of wolves."
