The Prophecy
The first night when the moon bled, the demon of destiny came to life
Five suns will pass, the long battle will end and the descendant of the moon will take her first breath
The second time the moon will be painted red. These two lovers will unite.
They will rule with greatness, it will be known, far and wide, That peace will follow wherever they are
It will know no bounds, that beings from all realms will bow.

“Aroa! Come down now, or the teachers will scold you again!”
“Are they already there?” I asked Ruse. “If not, just give me another minute. I will come down later.”
“Oh, come on! What is with you and the roof?” she asked, obviously annoyed as I skipped all my classes this morning. Again.
I jumped down and looked at her. I don’t want to anger her as she is my only best friend. She is the only one who understands and tolerates the freaky me, the one who tries to cover all my pranks, and the one who pleads my innocence even though I am definitely guilty. Yup, that’s her, my dearest Ruse. So yeah, angering her is a no-no. I would lose a lot… After all, she is everything that I have. I don’t have a family. No parents. No siblings. Just her.
“I only want some peace. You already know how other demon wolves treat us.” I answered, trying to look pitiful. “They are terrible!” I crossed my arms for more effect.
“I know, but we are omegas,” she answered as she tapped my shoulder. “They will always be higher than us.”
“I still think it’s unfair,” I mumbled. “We are all demons”
“If you keep resisting your fate, you will always be having a hard time,” Ruse said with a hard expression on her face. “Just go with the flow. Everyone has a role in this world.”
“And our role is just to be their slaves?” I asked her “I don’t believe it!” I can’t. I never will.
“Aroa-”
“They said the queen of the wolves already abolished the slavery system before!” I said, indignantly.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“But now, she’s gone!” Ruse answered. “She abandoned her duties after the first war of Gods and Demons. That is why the alphas of the wolf clan were able to bring back this system”
This conversation is getting me frustrated. I am jolly by nature, but I am also stubborn. I know my friend is right. But there is just something inside me that tells me not to surrender to anybody. Maybe that is why many people call me stupid. I never knew how to control myself. I couldn’t hold back even if it would earn me some floggings. The scars on my back are proof of it.
Suddenly, the door behind me opened, showing Mrs. Robins, my math teacher, wearing colorful clothes that seemed three sizes smaller than her actual size. For some reason, she reminds me of doughnuts. Colorful round doughnuts. And yeah, she looks terrible. As always.
“Aroa Smith!” She shouted, her nose flaring. Her nostrils look bigger than usual. “What are you doing here?” She asked. “All your teachers have been looking for you!”
“Ma’am, I have asthma, I need fresh air,” I said while feigning coughs.
“Stop fooling me Smith!” she said. “You do not have asthma!”
“But ma’am-”
“No more excuses! Help clean the cafeteria.” She ordered. “That’s your punishment for skipping classes.”
Great. I almost choked on my saliva for feigning coughs. Now I still have to help clean the cafeteria. I could have died, you know!
“Are we clear?” Mrs. Robins asked while glaring at me.
“Yes ma’am.” I finally answered. What choice do I have?
Later that day, I went to the cafeteria to help in cleaning. Though I broke some plates, the kitchen lady did not scold me. She was very patient and kind.
I was busy sweeping the floors when I saw the root of evil approaching. I needed to make an escape, pronto!
“Hey, there slave!” Martina said. There she was. The root, the ancestor, the origin, or whatever of evil had arrived. I was a step too late.
“Hey there, grandma!” I countered, only in my thoughts though. In reality, I ignored her. She’s the Beta’s daughter. Fighting her would do me more harm than good.
“Omega!” she said as she pulled my arms. “Are you deaf?”
“What?” I asked her, trying to ignore her nails piercing my skin.
People started to gather around us. Aren’t they going to call the teachers? I hate to say this, but at this moment, I really miss them. Where are they when I need them most?
“Since you have immersed yourself as a slave, why don’t you clean more?”
Suddenly, she released my arms. She grabbed the can containing the trash I had cleaned earlier. Then, she poured all its contents on me. On Me.
On Me.
Really, Martina. You really had to reach my breaking point?
“There, be with your fellow trash omega!”
Then, she laughed like crazy. In all honesty, I tried to calm myself. This isn’t right Aroa, I told myself. You will get into deeper shit. Your life will be much messier than it is now. Stop.
Stop.
But my hands had already grabbed the bucket of dirty water. They already decided that this woman needed to be cleansed of her evil deeds. So, I, against my own will, poured all the dirty water on this creature.
“Ah!!!” Martina exclaimed. There. She’s clean now.
