On his way to class, Lucas ran past a lot of people. Much more people than yesterday. The 2nd and 3rd years had returned from their holiday so Reckwerth was packed with people again. As he ran past the people he saw everyone's coat was different from his. Which made sense, the 2nd years and 3rd years had different colour coats. As Lucas ran past them, many turned their heads to give him a second glance until he disappeared from sight. Lucas was using all his strength to run and not his skill. But even this was very fast. Lucas would often stop and ask people if he was going in the right direction. His first lecture was in lecture hall J3. He had no idea where that was.
After a bit of asking and navigation. Lucas found the J segment where all the J lecture theatres were. There were 10 lectures theatres in this segment. Numbered J 1-10. Once Lucas found number three he opened the already closed door and walked in. Once he walked in the class that already started turned quite. All eyes fell on Lucas. Lucas sighed because he knew he was late... Then he looked at the lecturer and apologized to her for being late and found an empty seat. Once everything was settled the class resumed as if nothing happened.
It was when Lucas calmed down. When all the rushing blood flowing in his body settled that he realized that something was wrong. He looked at all the coats on the students and saw they were blue. But none of them had coats like his. It then struck him that he might be in the wrong class. He looked around the class again and saw that not one of them had the same coat as him. So clearly this wasn't a first-year class. Upon this realization, he stood up and prepared to leave the class.
When the lecturer saw Lucas get up he said, " What now? Is my lecture not good enough for The King of The First Years?"
Confused by what the lecturer was saying Lucas said, " No it's not that. It's just that I am in the wrong class. I just noticed nobody is wearing the same coat as me."
" Does your timetable say lecture theatre J3?"
" Yes."
" Then you are in the right place."
" But..."
" No buts... Did no one tell you that as the #1 your coat is different to the rest?"
" Oh, I see... Sorry I had no idea. Sorry for causing a disturbance yet again."
" It's all good. But I am noticing you do not have your textbook. Did you forget it?"
" No, I don't have one? Were we supposed to have one?"
At this point, the students began mumbling amongst each other.
" Haha. King of The First Years or King of The Idiots?"
" Wouldn't that make us idiots and he is the King of us?"
"Oh. Then King idiot."
" That's better. But like it's not his fault. He is not used to this. You really can't take the poverty out of a person."
" Shhhht! That was loud. Do you want to die? Yes, he might be an idiot but his strength is undeniable."
Because of Lucas's increased attributes he had heard their conversation and the others around the class. But he ignored them. He kinda did look like an idiot today.
Then the lecturer replying to Lucas said, " Yes. Did the reception not tell you to go get your books at the library. You know you can't get in the library without a student card. That's why you get that first then you get your books. How do you not know that? Look everyone has their books."
"Sigh. Sorry..."
" Sigh. It's okay. Just go sit next to someone who has their textbook. Does anybody want to share their book with him?"
You could hear a ghost screaming so quiet it was in the classroom. Lucas's eyes glanced around the class but no one wanted to share a book with him. They just sat their avoiding eye contact with the lecturer and Lucas, afraid the task would be forced upon on them. When the lecturer saw that no one was wanted to do it. He sighed, " Ai. Seems you aren't too popular in this class. Just sit down and listen. When you get your book later today. You can revise and review what you learnt in class."
Once he was done talking to Lucas. The lecturer returned to his normal composure and began lecturing again, " And that's how you improve your fire magic..."
While listening to this class. Lucas was falling asleep. There was nothing fun about it. There was nothing new. He knew everything that was being explained. These instructions were already given to him when he learnt his fire-related spells. In fact, somethings that were being taught to the students were wrong. He knew this because it contradicted what Thea had told him to do. But he stayed in the class out of respect to the lecturer. Once class was done. He walked up to a random individual and asked if he could see their textbook. The person was scared so they handed it over immediately. Lucas didn't mean to intimidate him. He asked in an affable tone but to no avail. Once Lucas got the book he read through the whole book in 5 seconds. He flipped through the pages at a very fast pace. But because of his dexterity, he didn't damage the pages at all. Once he finished reading the book he concluded. That he would gain nothing from this class. With his increased intelligence, a feat like this was nothing to him.

Lucas wondered if this would be the same for all the other classes. So he checked his timetable to see what he had next. Once he checked he saw he had Wind 1A next and after that was Water 1A, Earth 1A, Mana control 1A, Projectile Accuracy 1A. Every Wednesday and Friday was Mage combat 1A as the last class. Today was Tuesday.
Looking at his classes Lucas wasn't impressed. He knew that he would need to skip a year to benefit. The only thing he found interesting was Projectile Accuracy 1A. This was probably a practical class. As well as Mage combat.
Once Lucas finished looking at his classes he went to the next class. Where the same thing happened. He wasn't learning anything new. This continued all the way to Projectile Accuracy. This was a class Lucas was looking forward to. It was practical so it would prove more beneficial to him.
He arrived early to class. This wasn't a lecture hall but it was held at a separate Training area. That was used for the first years. This one only had targets that you would shoot using magic. They were all simulations though. So they could be restored easily. After a while, the class filled up. Everyone was standing as there were no seats since this was a practical. Once the class was there the lecturer arrived. Everyone settled down. Lucas looked at the lecturer and she looked very familiar but he couldn't put his thumb on it. Then she introduced her self as Rachel Vinnay. When Lucas heard her surname he figured that was why she looked familiar. This was clearly Ivys Vinnay's younger sister. The lecturer wasn't wearing a purple lecturers coat but a golden coat. Lucas wondered what it meant. When he overheard the students say that she was a third year. They knew because of her coat.
When Lucas realized this was the case he was surprised. They even had students teaching magic. This class wasn't a tut like in his previous world where such a thing is common. But an actual class. Not a revision of said class. So why was a student teaching it? Reckwerth has too much money. So hiring staff surely wasn't an issue. The only reason would be that she got this job because her sister is the principle. So nepotism. Or she is excellent at her job. But Lucas thought " I will be the judge of that."
Then Rachel Vinnay continued, "... Please don't think because I am a student. That I am in any way inept when it comes to teaching. Here at Reckwerth, we prioritize the best of the best. Naturally, this means teachers too. I have been selected duly because of my skill. And nothing else. I am a Vinnay after all... Anyway, as this subjects name suggests, this class trains your cast time and hit rate accuracy. Through this semester I will be teaching you the ins and outs. But first I would like to assess everyone's level. I do more of a personal based regimen to ensure you all grow into your potential... You see those targets there. Stand on the red marker. Then try and hit the moving targets. Any elemental magic of your choice can be used. I am going to give you a quick demonstration. "
So Rachel Vinnay walked on to the red marker and suddenly the targets that were standing still began moving slowly. Then She began chanting until she began firing at the target in quick succession. On top, you could see what her score was. On the target was ten evenly spaced concentric rings. Where the last circle was 10 points and the last was a hundred. Rachel's points kept going up in 100's no matter how fast the targets were moving. You had three complete misses when that was over you lose. As you take down targets they get faster and faster until you couldn't do it anymore.
The targets were now moving faster than the human eye could see but she was still getting 100 points for each and every target she shot down. She was nothing short of spectacular. After a while, the targets stopped moving and she took a step back. On the screen, it said "perfect score". She had cleared it until the last level. There was no higher level on this rig that was designed for students. As such this was child's play for her. She was a real genius.
When the students saw how she just destroyed the simulation they took a deep breath and looked at their teacher with awe. Then Rachel Vinnay said, " So who's next?" She said it so casually as if what she had just done now could be replicated 100 times. At this thought, all the students decided they weren't going to go. Who would wanna go after that? The training room was filled with silence. Then Rachel Vinnay said, " If no one is going to go. Then I will choose myself."
It was then that Lucas put his hand up and said, " I'll go." After seeing what she just did he wanted to see how far he could go. He had done this before and without the systems combat mode, he couldn't replicate those results. But now that he had increased his attributes he wondered how far he could go. But when he spoke. Rachel Vinnay shot him down and said, " No. I already know your level. I have seen you at the tournament. So anybody else."
Lucas wasn't too happy with Rachel Vinnay's reply. He wanted to test his stuff but now he couldn't. Then he thought he would do it later... Now that Lucas couldn't go Rachel was waiting on someone else. But still, no one was replying. The classroom was silent. Then she said, " Okay since no one wants to go by themselves. I will be picking. Make no mistake. By the end of today, everyone will have done this. Well, of course, Lucas, you are the only exception."
Then she randomly selected students and they went. If there were levels, out of 70 the average level, the students reached was 15. Of course, there were some outliers that reached 5 and others around 25 with a standard deviation of 5.
Lucas on the other hand just stood and watched everyone practice. And he couldn't help but think today was a waste of time.
