In the forest of Talem. The sun was shining as the birds chirped away. Lucas woke up and sat on his bum. He yawned while rubbing his eyelids. He opened his eyes and he was still in this new world despite being in the old world in his dream. Usually, Lucas would dream about being in a different world and then wake up on Earth. Now he dreamt of Earth and woke up in another...
Lucas got up and saw the fire was out. He looked towards Layla Palmer and saw she was still fast asleep so he left her to sleep. At this moment Lucas's stomach growled like a lion cub. He then remembered that he still left over komodo meat he could braai. He wasn't too thrilled about having a braai for breakfast but what else was there? Lucas gathered more of the necessary wood. He cleaned the pit and placed all the new wood down. He lit the fire with his spell. Afterwards, he optimised the meat and marinade as well as the fire with timeskip.
Lucas picked up the dagger. However this time it's bloodlust wasn't overwhelming as it received a fair share of blood last night. Lucas cut the pieces of steak from the Komodo. Lucas placed the steaks on the wood grill and turned them at the right time. This time there was four pieces of meat currently on the grill. He did not want to make the same misteak (1) as last time. The steak was almost ready so the smell of braai flooded the place.
Sniff, sniff: sniff, sniff. Layla Palmer woke up wondering where this familiar but heavenly smell was coming from. She opened her eyes to see Lucas by the braai. She looked at the braai and she saw the four pieces of steaks on the grill. Her mouth starting salivating when she remembered yesterdays food. Immediately she stood up as her stomach began rumbling. She was afraid that Lucas would eat it all seeing that he did not even wake her up. She stood beside Lucas at the fire and said.
" Good morning Lucas, you're up early."
" Good morning Layla. Nah not really I was up like 30 minutes prior to you. How was your sleep?" Lucas wanted to slap himself when he asked that question but he had already said it.
" I had a good sleep and you? " Layla Palmer said smiling.
" Me too. Yesterday was rough so I fell asleep the second my head hit the floor. Which is good though because the ground is so uncomfortable. Talk about brokeback mountain." Lucas said stretching his aching back out. "Oh, and breakfast will be ready soon. You have two pieces of steak and I have two."
" Thanks, is there anything you need my help with?"
" Nope, I am all good thank you."
It was at this time that the steaks were ready so Lucas took them off the grill and put them on the skin. Afterwards, he cut his two and hers against the grain. Lucas moved his portion to his side and Layla moved hers to her side. Lucas immediately cast his timeskip so that the food cooled down to the perfect temperature to eat.
Lucas took a piece with excitement for he really wanted to eat it. He wanted to compare the ingredients of this world to his own. He got a lot of ingredients that had similar tastes to Earth and of course some new ones. But what he wanted to know was if he the supposedly richer in flavoured ones truly tasted better. After much work, Lucas took a bite. However, he was so disappointed after tasting the meat. He was disappointed that he couldn't describe just how much times this food trumped Earths. It was truly marvellous if he had to say so himself. For the next 10 minutes. They at their fill.

When they were done eating. They rolled their sleeves and wiped the grease off their mouths and hands on their arms.
" That's the last of the meat that I can cook for now. The rest of the meat is suitable for making a pot but I don't have any of that equipment."
" I wonder what other dishes you can cook. My stomach waits in excitement."
" Haha, I have only scratched the surface," Lucas said followed by a long moment of awkward silence.
" So I have made my decision."
" Oh really. So what have you decided?"
" I have decided to train with you..."
" All good. Then let's begin."
" Now already."
" Yes, when else. You just had a good meal so you have energy. This is the best time to train."
" Okay, okay, okay. So what do you plan on doing?"
" First we need to determine your class. I'm going to put you through a test to see which class you have the highest affinity for."
" Okay. What do you need me to do"
" Nothing just stay still. I am going to run my mana through your body and that will help me determine your best class."
This way was obviously a lie. This does not help you determine your class. Lucas had planned on having the system tell him what class she was best suited for. But he needed to make that information reliable somehow instead of it appearing as a hunch.
" System, what is the best class for her?"
[ She can either be a mage, warrior or a ranger. This is in no particular order she has equal talent for them all]
Lucas ran his mana through her body. After 2 minutes Lucas told her the results and she just had to choose which class she wanted the most.
'
After her classes were revealed she asked Lucas what the other classes did. She knew how a mage fought because she had seen Lucas use his spells first hand. However, she was still unclear about the rest. Lucas explained to her what the rest of the classes did. Layla Palmer was standing with a puzzled look on her face as she did not know how to decide. She was indecisive for 10 minutes.
Lucas saw her puzzled face so he said: " Why don't you train in both the ways of a mage and a warrior afterwards you can decide which felt more natural."
Layla Palmer smiled when she heard she had this option. She then nodded her head to show she would do just that.
" Cool. Then let's get to work. In your body should still be remnants of my mana. I want you to feel it. Afterwards, you are going to feel your own mana inside. Don't worry about how much time it takes. Just focus."
" Okay." Layla Palmer said. She then sat down crossed legs and closed her eyes. She tried to feel Lucas's mana inside her but she could not find it at all. 30 minutes later she still couldn't feel it and was starting to get annoyed.
Lucas saw her frustration and said, " You need to focus. Discard anything that is bothering you. Everything that makes you angry, everything that makes you sad. Right now think solely about magic. You are magic and magic is you."
As Lucas said that Layla Palmer's focus reached a new height. She began using all her visualisation prowess. After 10 minutes she felt Lucas's mana inside and after another 5 she felt her own mana inside her. After she was done she exclaimed in joy at her feat.
Lucas congratulated her by patting her on the back and then said, " Now that mana that you feel mana deep inside of you. I want you to circulate it through your body. I want you to move it from your stomach area to your hands and then your head. Everywhere in your body, leave no place untouched.
Layla Palmer closed her eyes and just like Lucas it was really hard to move the mana around at will. Sometimes she would move it to her arms like she wanted but then lose control of the mana. As such it will then go back to the stomach area. Layla Palmer tried and tried. After 2 hours she completed her first cycle. However, she was really depressed because it took so long.
" Don't be despondent. Your growth is actually really fast. I read in a book that it takes other people days just to feel the mana let alone try to control it." When Layla Pamer heard this she smiled and got all her will to train back.
" Okay, so continue to try and cycle the mana in your body. Don't grow weary if you don't feel you are making progress because you are. Experience in itself is valuable."
Layla Palmer went back to trying to control her mana. She moved her mana around her body for four hours straight. But she could only do two cycles smoothly now.
Lucas stopped her there and told her that she should have an hour break and afterwards is time to train in the ways of being a warrior.
