Chapter 8: The Green Hand Serial Killer Arc: The Green Hand Killer Part 3

I took two steps forward and leaned my right arm backward with full power, looking like I swung my arm. Still, because I was leaning my body together with my arm, it was hard for them to see which direction I would swing. I got hit on the left side of my body when I quickly straightened up my body and aimed in the direction of the hit. Everything went so fast that I slapped one of them instead of a punch, slapping the Grawler behind the other one who had hit me but dodged. I need to try and keep going with Two hits, getting hit once. One jumped in the air towards me, and I quickly moved to the side. When the idiot missed me completely, I bumped my ass towards its head, so the idiot hit the pillar. I promptly switched my fighting style to Veronica's style. I stood on my toes and slowly moved toward where most Grawlers were closest to each other. Every punch came in my direction, and with some of them hitting me and most missing me, I gave quick right-left punches in response. I noticed there wasn't enough power in my punches because I responded too fast without much body movement forward; it wasn't like my training with Victoria, where I almost always got injured by her punches' impact.

I tried switching my style again and got hit on my stomach, so I fell in front of the kiosk and managed to crawl up with the help of the front wall quickly. I looked inside, and the hot girl wasn’t there anymore. I couldn’t see any drinks or other stuff to buy either. There should have been stuff there so that I could have used any extra weapon like a bottle, but it was pitch black. What the hell happened to the kiosk?

I turned around, a hard kick hit my chest, and I saw in slow motion how I flew over the desk into the dark. I noticed that the kiosk was getting smaller as I floated away from the kiosk in pitch-black darkness. Did I enter some multiverse or another timeline because I was not in the kiosk? What the fudge is happening here? Some of the Grawlers went above the desk and looked down at me with a big smile.

I fell and rolled around while the pain in my chest from the kick just added to all the craziness going on right now. The Pain my body was enduring right now made me think that maybe it was all over for me. Why was the ground so soft?

The softness when hitting the ground was painful. Still, it would probably be over if I hit a rocky bottom because I could not control my body on the low energy left while rolling on the soft space. Did I die from the kick and rolling on the clouds in heaven?

Looking straight up at the sky must mean that maybe I was dead; perhaps the head was hit by something from the kick. The pain got worse in my stomach and chest, but If I am dead, my soul can't take the pain with it to heaven, or can it?

In what felt like ages, I got up in a sitting position surrounded by woods and noticed that I had landed on grass.

What the fuck is this?

I managed to get a better view around and noticed the lake. Something jumped up from the water, looking like some snake, and splashed back into the water. So, we have woods, grass, and a lake with something shit in it, and I noticed to my right side and saw three people, or not! They had frog heads. Strangely, the body and hands looked human, sitting with three rods. Why did they look so focused on the lake? Were they trying to catch the snake, or maybe they tried fishing?

I noticed the cabin was also not far from them, with woods surrounding it. When I turned back to the direction where I had rolled in, it was just a big rock with blue paint around it. Was that maybe a portal that was now closed, but there was a lever stick beside the blue circle? If I tried pulling it up or down, would It open the portal? I should ask maybe the frogs that seem entirely out of it and just had their focus on the lake.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

“Hey! Where are we?” I asked, and they turned around, looking at me without any expression like nothing unusual had changed just a moment ago.

It can’t be! They looked like the Froggin Thieves I have been looking for for six months. The three thieves were robbing wealthy Paladin owners and giving to the poor, but one wealthy owner managed to catch them. They demanded a painting of the artist Bjan Von Gath that they had stolen, but it was already gone. He decided to make an example of them and experimented on the three thieves, and it resulted in their demise; at the same time, the owner was mysteriously murdered cold-blooded, and all the suspicions were on the three thieves even though nobody had seen them again.

For no reason, six months ago, it came in robbery cases again, and it was three thieves again. This time, the execution of the robberies reminded me of the three thieves. Still, I got a description of frogs that could jump between buildings. I hunted them when I had time over from other assignments but always been one step behind. They even started to leave letters with different smiley faces and a scribbled face of me with a text written “Van Polan Strikes Again” as a gag joke for them. The Froggin thieves, no wonder they could quickly jump between buildings when having the core body of a human but maybe the strength of jumping from a frog.

“Hey! It’s the Van Polan guy! but looking slightly bloody and hurt. Did you come here to hunt us down, or is it a friendly “I am on my way to die of blood loss” visit?”. The first one in front said to me, and I noticed the black dot he had on his forehead, the same one Tom had from the three thieves.

“I bet he is dead within 10 minutes!” The second one commented behind Tom. He also has a black spot, but he has it on his throat. That is the second one of the three thieves, Tim.

“No! I bet he still has some willpower left inside him to survive. He didnt come here to hunt us because he looks weakened a little bit, and the color of his face is slowly changing to a corpse.” The third one, and the mastermind of the three, has a complete frog head covered in black instead of green. That one was named Tamm.

“Tom…Tim…Tamm…nice to meet you again,” I said.

“You don’t look so good, buddy; want us to help you?” Tamm asked.

“Yeah, Please help me!”

They turned their heads toward the lake and kept fishing without caring about my plea. Of course, Tamm was sarcastic when he asked this. I suppose It was his way of making a shitty joke about helping me out. Suddenly, the noise from what I thought was from Grawlers noticing that the portal was open again. I quickly crawled toward the cabin behind the Froggin thieves, trying to catch a breather and use the stairs connected with the cabin as support to get up on my legs. I looked back and tried to count how many of them it was and counted almost ten of them, or maybe nine, came through the portal. They probably figured it was a portal and came after me to make sure I was dead.

“It looks like some of your friends have visited through the portal Berk…Van Crapan!” Tim joked.

The Grawlers stopped a few meters away, monitoring the three frog guys with their rods aiming toward the lake.

“I have heard a rumor that the Bjan Von Gath painting showed up in Paladin woods and is now on the black market. A big auction will be held in a month and auctioned off for tickets to Valiant, and a lot of money will be involved. The sellers can live a luxurious life in Valiant for the rest of their lives. I am the only person in The Van Polan Organization who knows where the auction will be. I know which time and where it will be in the human world; the informant who gave away this information lives on Earth, and nobody knows about it. I can keep my mouth shut and let you three have a free passage to Valiant without any troubles. The auction will go through, and you can escape from Paladin; you must do me a favor if you do not want the information spilled to the organization. I told the Froggin thieves.

“What do you want from us?” Tamm asked me without even turning his head that prick.

“I need you to take care of these Grawlers so I can go back through the portal,” I answered, and it went completely silent for a moment.

My breathing worsened, and I had problems keeping my head up seeing the Grawlers running towards me. I tried to rise from the ground when I saw all three rods dropping down on the ground, and the three thieves started to move from their spot when everything went black. Did I die now?
