Chapter 21: Khabab with Bread

The stars climbed close to the log in the air, trying to keep my balance from falling.

“WHICH STAR SHOULD I JUMP NOW?” I screamed and looked for Sheela but couldn't see her around.

Just my luck; she disappears when I need her the most. I took a couple of steps forward and noticed my right hand was in black fire; she must have had her energy sucked out, and it was no time to make jokes now when the small stars managed to come up on the log.

“Think before you do anything, Berk! Do not jump on a star without being sure it won't fall!” Mejni uttered.”

I quickly looked back, and the stars started to stack above each other on the log; a freaking yellow star couldn't kill me. The biggest disgrace that can happen to a human being is when they ask you in heaven or hell how you died, and If you say it was a small star, it will make everyone laugh at you.

“Fuck It! I jumped on the star before us, but sneaky, I grabbed Mejni and threw him on the star to the right. We both fell on the star, got up quickly, and looked at each other. Mejnis's eyes turned red, and his shape changed slightly; he looked pissed off.

“EH, SORRY, CAT!”

“I AM A MEERCAT, NOT A CAT!” he screamed, looking intense, any moment now before he attacked.

I took two steps back, and he jumped towards me while stars fell from the log. I quickly rolled to the left, so I didn't end up being hit by his kick. I ran and jumped on the other star Mejni was on earlier. I took a couple of steps back to take on the momentum. I started to run to the other side, and exactly when I was going to jump, Mejni grabbed my shirt. I lost a bit of the momentum, and I could see us dying now, that damn cat.

“AAHHHHHHHH!”

The end... no! I'm just joking. It is close, though; while grabbing some pipe under the Khabab kiosk, I quickly put my right arm up to get a stable grip. Mejni was hanging upside down, staring at me with his tail around my throat, choking me, and giving me a deadly stare. I need to hurry before the damn pet will choke me to death. I jumped up a bit and grabbed a chair connected to the kiosk. Quickly as possible, I got up on the chair and used full power to release Mejnis's tail from my throat.

“Khabab, two for one with bread? You look a little bit blue, " a man with a thick mustache commented from the kiosk.

Why do they have a fucking grill above the dead zone? It is like a big no-go. I looked back and noticed the smaller stars jumping but falling and the wood logs popping up everywhere. I stood on the chair, and Mejni quickly jumped up on the roof with the help of my body. I was preparing to climb up on the roof, but Mejnis's mouth was wide open, and he was staring behind me at something. I looked back and noticed a lot of stars falling from the distance. A giant star, looking like it had taken steroids, was jumping between the stars and destroying everything in its path. Each jump it took made the big yellow star fall down when it jumped up toward the next star.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“RUN!” Mejni screamed, jumping forward, left disappearing from my vision.

Did that damn cat die now? I quickly climbed up on the roof and went to the edge to check after Mejni, who was back into his cute shape again, smiling at one of the stars.

“STOP FUCKING SMILING YOUR DAMN FAKE!” I screamed at him, took a few steps back, moved quickly, and jumped on the star. Still, I lost my balance, and Mejni moved to the right to avoid getting hit by me.

We turned to look after the steroid star and noticed it had moved to the left when we jumped to the left, not destroying the kiosk. We were only two stars away from finishing this, and there were no clues of which one. What more can make this worse than it already is? I had to guess and jump on one; I jumped on the yellow star in the front, and it didn't move, while Mejni jumped directly after me. With one more star to move forward, we will have green grass on the other side. Which star is the correct, left, right, or the one in front of us, which takes us to the goal line? Steroid caught up to us and jumped on the star behind us, and it split in the middle, making the star's edge point up in the air.

“Get quickly up on me, Mejni! Grab on hard with your tail around my stomach.”

He got up on my shoulder, and the big star jumped up in the air right before it landed on the star we were on. I jumped up and grabbed the edge when it hit our star; I climbed up as fast as possible and tried jumping on the star before we hit the edge, making the steroid jump up quickly while I was going to land. I dived and hit the edge promptly, weakly attempting to make a quick small jump, making the star under me fall directly; Steroid followed into the black darkness. Half my body landed on the grass, and I grabbed it with my hands, pulling us slowly up without making sudden moves.

I looked back and noticed that everything had disappeared: no stars, no kiosk, and only the pitch-black hole. The box appeared in the air and made a weird sound.

“Congratulations on completing the first part of Level One; only two more areas to fulfill until you can pass through to Level Two.” It said.

Mejni and I looked at each other because we thought this was Level One.

“So...you mean there are three stages with each Level?” I asked.

“Yes!” It replied.

“How many levels are there?”

“It is Ten Levels!”

It has to be fucking kidding with me. Do we have to go through 29 stages of this shit?

“Each stage will get harder and harder, and some can take a long time to finish.” The Box uttered with pride in its voice.

“I have a question. Do you know if the Princess of Valiant is here?” I asked the box.

“Yes, she is caring for sick civilians on Level Eight.” It replied.

“How did she even survive to Level Eight? We barely made it through the first stage on Level One?”

“She has entered the game in Extremely Easy Mode, which has no stages and is played in a very friendly mode because she is a doctor. She can not get attacked in the game. Still, suppose another player enters the game and plays on a hard Level. In that case, her status changes, and she becomes a threat to this world, making her an enemy instead of a doctor.”

That was not the most brilliant move to send me in then. If we cross paths, the status can change, and I do not think the princess's wish is to play this game in impossible mode.

“Okay! I get it, Box! Will we sit around and rest a little before the next stage?”

“No! Only between Levels are the players allowed to rest. Keep moving Northwest until you see a red flag; get close to the flag, and I will give you instructions when you are very close. Good Look Mr. Berk Van Polan and Mr Mejni.” It said, and then disappeared.”

I looked at the green field, and I knew this would be so much pain in the ass. Let's hope we will survive the next stage, and where the hell is the damn Maid?
