“What in the name of an ogres toenail fungus is that!” I hear from I my right. I’m currently inside the church, near where the preacher would speak. I look over and see Qysik fighting a large lizard Luke creature. The monster is 17 feet long, 3 feet wide, with 6 feet. The tail is 3 feet long with spikes coming out. Almost as if a pinecone was at the end of it. At the head some kind of webbing is around the neck. Bones stick out of the neck connecting the webbing. The purple scales are reflective, and while not even focusing on Qysik I can see him hopping around effortlessly with a great mace and a tower shield, almost as big as him.
Once I get my armor and clothes on Aesir is already heading towards the monster his. His hatchets as big as his arms swing back and forth.
I am barreling towards the creature, longsword in hand. As I leap into the air I bring my sword down onto the creatures webbing. Before my blade can connect, the webbing emits a bolt of lighting. Blasting my sword out of my hands. “What the short elf ear?” I mutter watching my sword fly through the ceiling.
Qysik seeing this slam his great mace into the creature's snout. A crunch emits from the collision. Aesir swings a hatchet into its back leg. It screams like a banshee, and the webbing extends out. Lightning is sent towards me. Before it can make it to me, I grab one of the church’s pews to redirect the bolt towards a wall. Once I parry the bolt I run back towards the creature. I just now realized it smells like a warm apple pie. Which is odd for monsters like this to smell good. Qysik tosses me his great mace and I spin around slamming it right into its face. Once I toss the mace back, it bleeds out of its eye sockets. Brain tissue is going through the cracks through its skull. Aesir jumps over it and we are all three-stand next to each other. “This creature is a Gnome Slayer. It was created by wizards to kill gnomes, after they started tampering with mana. The only way we can kill it is to crush the tail.” Aesir informs us.

Qysik and I nodded knowing what to do. The Gnome Slayer tried to head-butt me. I grabbed its nose and with all my strength flipped it over. Qysik ran to slam the tail. While I’m distracted the Gnome Slayer bites a chunk out of my triceps. I grit through it and use this to keep it still. Qysik destroys the tail, and the bite loosens as it dies. I pulled my arm out, and Aesir saw it. He rushes to try and start healing it. I told him to grab a shirt from my bag, to make a tourniquet. After he ties it, I go looking for my sword. It only flew outside the door. As I went to pick it up, I noticed there was a gauntlet right next to it. It seems to be made of platinum. “A gauntlet of magic metal?” I note. Take it, it will prove useful in many scenarios. Grabbing it, I put it on to see how heavy it is. I throw a left hook, and it turns into a shield. Medium sized for most. For me it’s more of a buckler size. I do it again and it turns back into the gauntlet.
We pack up and start heading to camp. I decided to scout this time. With only one arm it would be hard to cut effectively. I yell out when. I see monster camps and we stay out of sight of most one out of 5 times Aesir would go deal with them only taking a minute or two. “Your arm doing any better?” Qysik questions, while Aesir is dealing with some monster.
“Better, Aesir’s spell it is doing wonders. The nerves are already healed, now the bone is the only one. thing left to heal.” I responded.
After 9 hours we hear the sound of marching and the forest opens up into a field. I see a fortress 100 yards away and pits all around. The camp seemed to be split in two. Aesir walks forward gleaming, “here we go boys, now the fun really begins. "We are given directions on how to get to the Achul camp. As we are heading Aesir is giving call outs when enemy and monster camps are ahead, and we steer past them. We make it to a rundown church. “It’s getting dark, let’s set up camp for the night.” As we set up camp, I heard rustling in the leaves but decided it was just the wind.
