Chapter 8: Back On The Move Towards The Academy

Kannachi yawned before banging headfirst into Crystal's Personal Pocket Pouch door. Kannachi mumbled to herself as she reached for the door's handle with her eyes closed. Crystal and Merybel watch a sleepy Kannachi struggling to grab the Personal Pocket Pouch door handle.

Crystal shook her head before she snapped her fingers, and the handle of the Personal Pocket Pouch door followed Kannachi's hand until she managed to grab it. Kannachi rubbed her eyes before she opened them and smiled as she thought about Temperance. Kannachi pulled the door open with a big giddy grin on her face; however, her grin shrank a little as she layed her eyes upon Skull doing break dancing head spins on a floating sparkly gold and silver square-shaped magic barrier [barriers of various shapes made from mana; the barriers are reinforced clumps of mana which the user can manipulate the shape of at will].

"And you think these moves will help with my core strength and balance?" Skull asked while going through various break-dancing moves. Kannachi mentally exhaled in relief before she boldly strolled out of Crystal's Personal Pocket Pouch door. Skull rolled onto her back and began doing break dancing backspins as Kannachi stood next to Temperance.

"So... who's your friend, TemTem?" Kannachi asked while she and Temperance watched Skull finish her break dance routine and led on her side.

"I'm Skullnaia," Skull exclaimed playfully before she flopped onto her back in an exhausted and dizzy state.

After a few minutes, Kannachi and her sisters listened to Temperance explain the situation with Skull and why she'd be travelling with them to the Lumiheart Academy.

"So?" Merrybel uttered.

"So... to what?" Temperance asked.

"Are you going to try beating that tournament to get admitted to the academy?" Merrybel asked with a concerned tone. Temperance was about to speak but stopped as Merrybel gave him puppy dog eyes.

"As I said before, I'll think about it," Temperance uttered with a clear voice. Merrybel sighed but accepted Temperance's answer. Temperance rose to his feet and glanced up at the sky to see some darker clouds in the direction of the ruined city.

"We best geta move on before we get caught up in the rain," Temperance remarked. Kannachi and the others agreed with Temperance and climbed onto his kitsune tail. Temperance picked up the dazed Skull and placed her next to the others on his tail. Temperance clicked his shoulder before he jumped into a tree and parkoured in the opposite direction of the rain clouds.

"Woah... Kannachi was surprisingly well... not violent when she met Skullnaia," Nakamai said from within Temperance's mind. Temperance bursted through the roof of the forest and landed on top of the tree.

"And why would Kannachi be violent towards Skull?" Temperance asked mentally as he lept between the tops of trees.

"I... never mind," Nakamai uttered defeatedly.

"What do you think she'd see Skull as a love rival?" Temperance asked mentally, causing Nakamai to gasp in utter shock.

"Wait, you know she likes you?".

"Yeah? What do you take me for an-".

"Idiot," Nakamai uttered coldly and boldly. Temperance rolled his eyes and thought Nakamai listened to too many of Teach's love stories.

Meanwhile, Lumios City; a walled-off city surrounded by a towering pale banana-yellow marble wall covered in various sheets of different kinds of metal which were haphazardly strewn about the wall located in the middle of mountain-sized hills. Aside from the apocalyptic-looking wall, the city within the wall looked like a mix of a contemporary city surrounded by various towns with wildly different architecture from each other: Single-storey Japanese houses, Sandstone Desert houses, and many others.

Around the centre of the contemporary part of the city stood a tall pale blue crystal textured metal tower with a glass dome at the top filled with a multi-coloured rainforest within the glass dome. Hika-02 (a green-haired and eyed version of Hika-01 who wears a secretary outfit and sunglasses) flew through the greenhouse dome's rainforest until she arrived at a wooden (silverwood[a silver coloured tree]) textured marble Japanese-themed tree house that hung over a crystal clear cyan waterfall and similarly crystal clear cyan lake.

Hika-02 flew through the open window of the marble tree house and landed on the nightstand next to a large wooden ring filled with a mountain of large pillows. Hika-02 created a green holographic letter and placed it on the nightstand.

"Lady Sakamoto, you've got a message from Hika-01 and Neo Xero," Hika-02 stated with her hands behind her back. A faint female mumbled emanated from inside the mountain of pillows before it shook, and the mountain collapsed to reveal a large ball of pink fur with metallically silver tips. The ball of fur unravelled its form to reveal the naked Lola Sakamoto lying on her bed. (Lola's a short [her height is in the grey area between a kid and a short adult female supreme kitsune [six kitsune fluffy/poofy tails with metallically silver tips and are twenty times the length of her height, and kitsune ears, which also had the metallically silver tips]; she has pale white to the point it's faintly cyan skin, green hair with metalically silver ends, golden eyes with five-pointed star pupils, and thick thighs)

Lola yawned and stretched like a cat while wrapping some of her tail fur around herself to cover her body. Hika-02 floated over to Lola and handed her the letter containing the message from Hika-01 and Neo Xero. Lola read the letter and smirked as she read it.

"Heh, I think I remember Justice mentioning Skullnaia would run into a group of individuals... though I still find it strange he could only tell me surface information about two of them, though," Lola uttered as she dispelled the holographic screen.

"Oh, so it's just like when-" Hika-02 managed to say before Lola gave her a disapproving stare.

"Yes! Exactly like the person who shall not be named," Lola proclaimed as she rose to her feet and hopped off her bed. She marched about two steps from her bed before abruptly stopping and turning to face Hika-02.

"Say... where is my hubby anyway?" Lola asked.

"He's currently dealing with a sudden outbreak of S-Ranked aether beasts north of Lumios City, ma'am," Hika-02 stated professionally. Lola frowned and angrily huffed.

"Wished I didn't ask..., that means he'll be gone for a whole day," Lola whined as she slammed her kitsune tails against the floor and disapointedly dragged them behind her as she left her bedroom.
