Chapter 34

Two men experts in tacking and staying hidden followed their query. They got information saying a human with the correct looks had gotten onto a caravan heading towards Zakor. They were able to catch up to the caravan and blend in a day before two giant rabbits attacked. One of the two wanted to help. “Remember what our orders are. Just observing.” The taller of the two said pulling the shorter one back.

They both wore masks that hid most of their face as they watched from the tree line practically invisible. “I know but if it gets real bad we should help.”

“Agreed.”

They watched and in the end didn’t need to do a thing. The target of their sight had helped a lot but what truly one the battle was the people their target later joined. They noted down the unique weaponry of their target.

They followed him through the city watching as he entered and left a magic object shop multiple times. Asking around they learned he was learning from the owner.

This went on for a while as they half followed the one called Xane. He helped a village fight against another giant rabbit and croctors, even helping with repairs. A few buildings even enchanted before leaving.

It was odd when the one called Calrin started calling Xane Lyenn for a period of time. Something that they never found out why. The fighting style also changed in that time. Though it all went back later.

The duo was amazed by this lower level's power as he gained more and more of it. They even saw him fight and kill a high level bear before he even had a class. Something only the rich and most talented would ever even think of attempting.

Then it happened the entire reason they were following this guy. At the shore line of Zakor miles away from any civilization a boat appeared in the water. The group got on board and it sailed away off to somewhere they personally thought was suicide. The Island of Iron.

A few weeks later when they arrived back to the port of Zakor they handed over their report. “Bit odd that one is boss. But I don’t think he was worth following for so long.”

An elf in decorated clothing spoke in a slow and deep manner, “I will choose if it was worth it, Varsh. Besides I have another job for you two its on the table. Now leave.”

“Boss is really in a mood today.” One named Varsh said opening up the envelope.

“He might hear us Bussard be more quiet. Now what else is he wanting us to do?”

“Another casing job. This time at least it isn’t following a kid around all day everyday.”

They walked away happier.
