Xane thought over his class choices. Magic Initiate was immediately thrown out. It was far too low level and also he had 2 spells. Dualer sounded nice. He loved wielding two weapons. But it was pretty much a stack of the skill dual wielding. Maybe the skills would be good but he needed something better.
Cowboy sounded sick. Old him would have chosen that based off of the part it was called Cowboy. However, the next was just better for him.
Mana Infused Gunman sounded dumb. What a boring name. Though the power of it was great. As rarity went up it grew in power giving by .25% so choosing the higher rarity class was just the smarter choice.
Xane didn’t know how important the Classless feats were to getting this class. It couldn’t have hurt to get them in the first place. Xane chose Mana Infused Gunman and more choices popped up.

This was a lot better of choices than he had thought it was going to be. The first one Dodge Roll was something he would most likely take. Xane thought over the rest.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
He really didn’t need the reload speed. If Xane wanted to reload faster he would put even more points into dexterity. Xane decided not to go with that.
Similar story with firing faster. He truly didn’t think he needed that. He was afraid if he shot any faster he would break his gun.
That only left Infused Bullet. Something he dearly wanted. Xane chose both Dodge Roll and Infused Bullet, happy with his choices.
The notifications had distracted him from his current situation. He was missing a leg. He took out a signal one use item. It sent a flare of bright magical light into the air where it stayed for a bit. It was his ‘I’m about to die please come save me’ panic button. He was hesitant to use it and happy he didn’t need it.
Xane waited for reinforcements to arrive. “See I told you it was worth it to go for this. Missing leg besides the point.”
“Yeah yeah I agree. So can my leg be put back on? Or do I need to grow a new one?”
“Oh no you are just legless now.” She said it so sincerely that Xane started panicking.
“You are telling me that in this world of magic I can’t just regrow limbs? This just doesn't make sense.” He went on for another minute of bad language and complaints. Lyenn’s laughs turned it into anger towards her. “Wait, you were lying. Seriously Lyenn this is my leg we are talking about. You can’t just do that.”
“I thought it was funny.”
Before Xane could berate her more slow clapping reverberated from behind him. Xane was lying down seeing no point in doing anything else. Calrin was now right behind him slow clapping. “Well well well. What do we have here? Thinking about going for the 1 legged race? You know you don’t actually need to have one leg for that right?
“Shut up and help me.”
“I assume you killed it?”
“Of course I did, it's over there buried in the rubble” Xane waved over to the bear that could barely be seen.
Calrin walked over to it, poking it with a stick. “Yeah it's dead. Way bigger than we thought it would be. Why didn’t you call on us? Not worth dying over in my opinion.”
Xane pulled himself up,”Well I think it was worth it. Got an exotic class.”
The shocked look on his face was worth it. “Seriously. You know how rare those are? Of course you do or you wouldn’t be waving it in front of me.” Calrin’s class was only rare with Huntresses’ unknown. But they assumed it was a good one.
Xane having an exotic class was something that would be seen as a glorious thing to be celebrated. Something they would do on the sly for it was also something sought after. Not to steal for you can’t from Xane’s knowledge but to kill the person with it. They got too powerful later to be stopped. The only choice is to do it early or get them on your side.
Before they left Xane had them unbury the bear so he could store it. That thing should bring a pretty penny.
They put him into the back of a cart Xane had stored in his ring. And started off. Xane just relaxing. He really needed to rest mentally more than physically. Xane decided to look over his character sheet on his way there. He put all his spare points into constitution seeing as he felt weak and that leveling up his class would give him the points need for his main stats.

Looking over his sheet he felt like he was so close to going up a tier in his skill gunmanship. Just a few more fights should get it up to apprentice. And then he should get a new bonus from it.
They got back to Zakor a few days later and Xane was bored out of his mind. He was told to just stay put when any fights went on. And wasn’t allowed to do anything fun. Lyenn just laughed at his misery. That was until he cut off her entertainment. “We both don’t need to suffer. Come on please.” They both suffered.
Back in Zakor, Xane was brought to the church of healing. They were surprised to see his leg still so fresh but Xane just said he had an item that slowed its decay and left it at that. He was in there for a day as they did multiple long time consuming rituals. As well as long money consuming rituals. Having a limb put back on cost 500 gold. If he wanted to have it grown back that would have taken weeks and cost 5000.
Xane walked again, happy to do so. He even didn’t argue when he was finally able to do his worm dance enjoying the action. Even after ages of use the skill only went up 1 rank. It was though one of his most powerful skills.
Something that Xane wanted to test was his new perks from his class. It was sad that you only got a new perk every 10 levels in your class. However Xane did know that they were supposed to get better and better over time. It was also supposed to be easier to level your class level more than your personal level. Which of wouldn’t go up anymore. Personal level maxes out at level 25.
After asking Lyenn about classes and if there were ways to change if someone got a weak one early on.“ Yes if someone trains you in a better version of the class you chose you can possibly gain the better version. Like magic initiate could specialize in fire or earth magic. There are special cases where you can get a second class. I personally didn’t get the chance to get one before I ascended. Though I believe the current Queen has 2 classes. The only way I know how to get one is a class bestowment crystal. They are legendary items found in ancient dungeons.”
“That sounds really good. Double the stats. Double the perks. I assume there is a catch though?” Xane asked.
“Yes it really isn’t too bad. Just that the classes take experience equally and you can’t stop it. So if you had a weak class and a strong class they both level at the same time. Even if you wanted to only level the stronger of the classes.”
“I for one would take that. Having another class sounds worth it.” Xane truly did like the idea. Though if it was true on how to get one he would never have two classes for a long time.
He had talked to Lyenn on his way out of town. He was going on a solo mission to find something to test his perks on. As well as loosen up the kinda stiff leg. It didn’t take long for him to find a pack of wolves with green fur. They were common in this area. Sadly they weren’t much of a fight as they were all around level 18. The best part was the pack leader.
Unlike earth wolves there was a true leader and alpha of a pack. And this one was much higher level at level 27. Still not a match for Xane but close enough. Xane let Garry fight the 3 other wolves as Xane faced off with the leader.
It bounded towards him with faster speed than Xane thought it would possess. Still it wasn’t nearly fast enough. Xane let it get really close before he activated dodge roll. He watched as his entire body became translucent in nature. The attack that would have landed the wolf biting into flesh only did partial damage. Xane tested this a few more times getting the hang of it.
He found that it only gave the 50% damage reduction for a second at most. He tried elongating the time he was rolling but didn’t get the damage reduction for that extra time. He also found that it did indeed stop something, at least lower level creatures, from grabbing him. Any attacks passing through leaving neglectable damage on the spot the initial hit landed.
Next was his Infused Bullet. Xane started infusing the round primed for firing. He watched as his gun started to glow ever so slightly till it glowed radiant after the 400 mana max. He also found it harder and harder to control the energy swirling in the gun the more mana he put in. However, his massive pool of intelligence made it possible.
The wolf wasn’t a stupid creature and realized what its prey was doing. It also realized that it was the prey. The wolf howled and the lower leveled wolves that Garry was playing with stopped what they were doing and as if in a trance ran towards the alpha. The alpha itself turned tail to run.
Xane wasn’t about to let it do that and shot. The bullet screamed through the air as if it was a banshee. The bullet slammed into the flank of the wolf and destroyed the back half. Xane felt the surge of energy netting him barely anything. The explosion wasn’t a small area as the perk insinuated. It was quite large, clipping the bounding wolves, killing one. Xane let Garry finish the fight.
Garry himself was leveling nicely but at the rate of power increases Xane was going through Garry was being left behind. The only reason he was at all useful in the fight with the Bleak Bear being the bear was trapped and weakened. If it had tried that move early on the bear would have simply cut the snake into ribbons. Xane promised himself that he would try and get Garry a boost in strength. There were things called pet enhancers but were exorbitantly priced due to the contents of them being so expensive.
Xane happy with this outcome, started walking back.
