The only known NPCs who can teach skills are the captains of the Twilight City army. That is a piece of common knowledge even for beginner players of New World. Another thing to take note for that is not quite as common is the schedule for meeting this NPCs. Some NPCs are easier to meet during any time of the day while others are the opposite.
I was looking for the captain of the archery squad all over the barracks. Without any information about this captain, I had no choice but to go to NWF to know the knight's name.
"Where can I see Captain Emily?"
"She's in her room at this time. You can ask her, but I won't if I were you. Even if you're a traveller, you can't handle her if she is in a bad mood. She's totally a different person if you get the short end of the stick."
"Thanks for the advice"
That is a problem.
I could force my way and ask for Captain Emily like many probably did. But with the reputation system just added, I am having second thoughts. It does not take an adult to understand that reputation involves the NPCs.
It seems like she is the only person that could teach any skill related to archery in this city. There are many captains still outside during this time, but their specialized weapon was a melee one.
Although it does not mean my trip here was not useless. They might have different skills that are best for different playstyle, but New World does not have any class system which means every skill can be learned as long as you have met certain requirements. I was able to find a few basic skills after checking all available captains which skills they can teach.
[Roll Lv.1: Learned]
[Stealth Lv.1: Learned]
I learned both of these from the captain of the scouting squad. I can learn more if my budgets allowed it. It was all movement-based skill, but it was better than nothing. There is always an option to delete the skills if it became pointless later on.
Currently, I have a total of nine skills and standing at five active skills. There is no purpose in thinking at this point of the game about not learning any skills if it is at least slightly useful.
All that said, Roll and Stealth were still worth it to learn. The former cost me about 50g while the latter was quite expensive, reaching almost 200g. These prices have lessened the regret I had not going here in my early days.
[You're done with your side?]
[It's almost our turn. Maybe within ten minutes, we'll be there]
Good thing Aria and Michelle were almost done with their application to the guild, so I decided to check the guild details while waiting for both of them. Opening the guild window, I am amazed that every Gold Paradise member was still active.
This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.
However, there was no single name on the member list that was also listed in the player ranking except for our Guild Leader. The highest levelled player beside me and the leader were 18, two levels below me.
We would be taking three of the top 5 spots in this guild if Aria and Michelle successfully join.
[Wow! We got two Level 20+ players]
[Does our leader have secret ways to gain real money fast. That's my only purpose in joining this guild.]
[I heard that our leader would be giving salary.]
Players in the guild chat have an interesting topic. Aria would be happy to see this if any of these speculations were true. We never saw rumours like what they are talking about when we picked this guild, but maybe having the name Richest Asian has attracted some money-hungry players. Now that I think about it, why does our leader stay quiet when he is the one being talked about literally?
[LadyQueen Blade has joined the guild]
[Michi Mochi has joined the guild.]
[Ooo~ Two more high levelled players joined this guild]
[They might be in the same group as our leader]
[Rank 621 and rank 717 in Twilight City Ranking. We got some strong people here.]
The guild chat was in a frenzy when Aria and Michelle joined. However, our leader was still inactive despite the activity. We might have joined a bad guild if our leader is like this and we would be waiting 24 hours if we want to leave and join a new one.
"Cherry! Here."
"Where's Michelle?"
I saw Aria waving at me. She was the only one present that is why I asked.
"She's finding the captain for her new skill. Can you believe that it cost 1000g, the skill she is planning to learn? That's already more than half of my current gold."
"And what is that skill?"
"She won't tell until she has it. That annoying brat."
"So, did you see the guild chat? Looks like both of you are the talk of the town. But I am more concerned with our leader. I never saw him message the guild chat yet."
"Let me check-- You're right. Looks like we've become celebrities among four hundred people- Oh wait! Richest Asian have sent something. It looks like an announcement."
Her sudden change of topic made me look back to my own interface. True to it, I saw a highlighted paragraph in our the bustling guild chat. Saying it is an announcement was quite an understatement. What he wrote in the guild chat was more like a formal letter rather than an announcement.
That long message of his was quickly faded away by the constant message of the other members. But thankfully, he pinned it on our guild chat.
Looks like Aria was also busy understanding the leader's message since she went silent. Reading all of it took a good five minutes before I was in the last sentence of the message. There were a lot of details, but it can be summarized into six points.
1.) There would be a hierarchy system in this guild based on the level and contribution. It is dived into three levels including the position of the leader. So the ranking goes like this. Guild Leader > Officers > Members.
2.) A weekly salary will be given (starting next week) to the members of the guild according to their position. 500b$ for the lowest positioned members while the highest can earn at least 10,000b$. This is subject to be changed.
3.) PvP without any reasonable reason especially against people with other guilds is an offence. Three strikes and you are out of the guild.
4.) Offline for three consecutive days without any reasons is immediate removal from the guild. No guild experience contribution later on for a week is also an immediate removal.
5.) Help other guild members. It may be either from hunting, dungeons, or quest. This is a community.
6.) Contact information is necessary, especially in the future date. The guild has big plans for the future.
It was a lot to take in yet I grew excited when I saw how serious our Guild Leader was by understanding his intention on this simple announcement. More and more members feel the same when I skim over some of the people sent out their own messages. It was a good start for a random guild we joined in.
