5. Leave Me Alone -Lyonhall Arc

5. Leave Me Alone -Lyonhall Arc

Jakari quickly got up from the ground and looked at his two companions. They copied his movements and stood right up too. It was the first time they both saw that Jakari’s eyes acknowledge their existence.

Celine was feeling extreme delight that she overcame the ultimate trial put forth by Jakari that lasted the entire day. She knew she had prevailed and will win his heart. For some reason, even though she hasn’t formally dated Jakari, she felt increasingly more in love with him, it was like he was the chosen one and was an extremely refined gentleman who will absolutely cherish her. Her heart was beating faster and faster with every millisecond that Jakari acknowledge her existence.

Similarly, the copper trash lady was feeling ecstatic that she will be in an adventurer party for the first time in her life and will be able to take on more dangerous quests with the silver-ranked helping her. It was going to be a faster pathway for her to become stronger and wealthier and gain more status so the others don’t look down or bully her anymore. Also to have him protect her from the viciousness of the people around her.

In this silence staring, the two trash were looking at him with eyes filled with happiness. Honestly, Jakari was kinda confused as he thought not recognizing their existence will make them go away but it was doing the opposite. His father’s guidance was wrong but his mother’s guidance wasn’t.

All his life growing up, Jakari’s mother taught him everything to know about women and how deceptive they could be.

There is no doubt in Jakari’s heart that these two trash had ulterior motives about him. He declared to them, “You both are the ugliest women I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Get out of my face, worthless ugly trash.”

Celine felt her entire heart shattered at that moment. All this time she thought Jakari was only testing her to see if she was worthy for him. She thought she proved worthy and rapidly shook her head from side to side, there was no way for him to reject her after all this trouble. “I know you are testing my love for you but I will always stand by your side! I even paid the entire balance for your bakery food!”

Meanwhile, the copper trash prostrated before Jakari in tears, “please let me join you! Nobody wants me in their party because I'm too ugly. You’re the only one I can count on! Surely you are kidding? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have had a problem with me following you the entire day in the forest right?”

How dare these trash speak back to Jakari! He didn’t bother using words anymore and immediately slapped both of them in the face, hard. SLAP! SLAP! A painful red handprint could be seen on both of their faces.

Celine had enough of abuse from Jakari and ran away to the town of Lyonhall while crying immensely from her shattered love. It was the first time she felt so strongly about someone but only for it to end in failure. She will no longer believe in innocent things like first love and remain more grounded in love.

The copper trash lady cried immensely and also ran away from Jakari. She was feeling even more suicidal and depressed than before as even he didn’t want anything to do with her. Only her parents truly cared for her. They knew that she would have a rough time and told her to always take any chance she could get at improving her life. But now the copper-ranked lady had completely given up on life. There was simply no hope for copper trash like her to possibly ascend the ranks.

Jakari was still displeased as he had to waste more effort in getting rid of the trash around him. He quickly got into his bed made out of leaves and went for a good night's sleep as tomorrow will be the day he will finally become an adventurer.

12:00 Am, Jakari instantly woke up after having only slept for 3 hours. He will not delay becoming an adventurer anymore. He ran at an immense speed towards Lyonhall guildhall, it took not even a blink of an eye for Jakari to instantly queue up for the guild’s reception. Everyone that he passed by didn’t even realize Jakari was passing them as they all thought it was just the wind.

Inside the guildhall, the people there weren’t surprised at Jakari’s sudden appearance as he was a mysterious talented silver-ranked adventurer or higher with some fancy movement skill. The people were speculating that Jakari probably came from a high-class family assassin or rogue family as they were known for their sneaky movements and great dodging abilities. There were always activities within the guildhall 24/7 and afternoons/evenings were the peak times. Adventurers socializing with each other about their adventures while drinking booze, others turning in a quest that they completed, some turning their monster loot into money at the loot depository, a few young snaggers trying to hit up older ladies only to get sternly rejected, female adventurers flocking towards the most handsome and strongest male adventurers. Pretty much your typical guildhall.

At this time, however, most of the adventurers were night owls, assassins, rogues, undercover agents, spies, dark mages, and other dark classes that becomes active. The rumors of Jakari being a silver-ranked adventurer or higher had reached their ears as they were all curious about him.

“Why is this silver-ranked dude still in Lyonhall? Shouldn’t he be in a stronger place already where he can have access to better quests and better gear?”

“Yo I heard this guy might be an undercover guild inspector from the main guild’s headquarters.”

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“He’s the guy who gave the poor guild receptionist girl her red handprint on her face. I say we gotta teach this arrogant fake silver-ranked adventurer a lesson!”

Chatters were heard amongst them but Jakari ignored everyone. But this time, the people didn’t give up their spots in the queue in front of Jakari so he had to wait. Jakari was slightly irritated that he had to wait for his turn but he wanted to become a proper adventurer and not follow in the delusional ideas of his family members.

After waiting for nearly ten minutes, Jakari made it to the front desk and asked, “I want to become an adventurer.”

The people around Jakari were snickering as if they heard the funniest joke from the rumored silver-ranked.

The guild lady was very confused as he was the rumored silver-ranked but obliged his request. She took out a form and gave Jakari a pen. “Please write your name on this line and pay the fee of 10 coppers.”

The guild-lady wanted to inquire about him slapping Celine but refrained from doing so because it would be against her professionalism to mix personal affairs with professional affairs.

Jakari stared at the form and swiftly took out his 1 copper and placed it on the table. “I don’t know how to write my name and is this enough copper coins?”

If the people from earlier were snickering, they were now full-on laughing at Jakari as the rumored silver-ranked was also broke as well! Jakari couldn’t care less of what those pieces of trash thought of him but it wasn’t good to attract attention either way. He didn’t even know why they were laughing and he was trying to properly become an adventurer.

“You’re not playing a prank on me, are you?” asked the guild lady.

No response came from Jakari.

“Okay tell me your name then, I will waive the fee of 10 coppers,” said the guild-lady. 99.99% of new adventurers were able to pay this fee and the guild has given discretion to its receptionists to waive the fee if they deem it to be necessary.

“Jakari.”

Strong laughter could be heard from the crowd as this rumored silver-ranked didn’t even know how to spell his name!

The guild-lady wrote out ‘Jacari’ and showed it to Jakari for his approval, he nodded his head for consent. Jakari didn’t even know she misspelled his name, if his mother were to find out that the guild misspelled her son’s name… she would go on a rampage and destroy this sorry excuse of Lyonhall’s guildhall.

“Okay wait one moment, I will prepare your wood-ranked band for you to wear and your guild ID.”

The moment Jakari received his wood-ranked band, he immediately wore it on his shoulder. He was grinning in the excitement that he finally became a proper adventurer! And he shoved the ID card into his pocket.

The people in the guildhall just witness the rumored silver-ranked adventurer re-registering with the guild like an idiot and becoming wood-ranked trash. The guildhall erupted in an uproar at Jakari.

“There is no way this guy is silver-ranked! He wasn’t even an adventurer until now! I can’t believe I fell for it!”

“Yeah! Someone who can’t even read or write and only has 1 copper to his name! So

completely worthless! This is the funniest prank I have seen in my entire life as an adventurer!”

“I’m so embarrassed that I wanted to ask him out. It was a good thing I didn’t! I can’t believe he would lie to everyone about his power and status!”

Jakari did his best to ignore all the laughter but he ultimately couldn’t. He didn’t even understand why they were all laughing at him. Despite his father’s warning to not get involved with trash, he was starting to get furious. He committed all of the people laughing at him to memory so he could pay them back 100-fold.

Jakari immediately turned around asked the guild lady, “What should I do now?”

“Well, you take on wood-ranked quests and prove to the guild that you can ascend the ranks.”

“Give me all the wood-ranked quests.”

“Unfortunately you are only allowed to do 1 quest at a time. Please take a look at our wood-ranked quest bulletin board. Take the one you like and proceed to finish the quest before returning back here okay?”

“Okay,” answered Jakari.

As Jakari made his way to the wood-ranked quest bulletin board. A group of shady copper-ranked adventurers approached him. “Yo silver-ranked. I heard you messed up Celine’s face pretty bad. Why don’t you come with us to the back alley-way so you can get what you deserve.”

Jakari’s father's first rule was resounding in his mind, “Ignore and avoid all interactions with trash.” But he didn’t want to hold back anymore. Jakari was getting sick and tired of trash constantly getting in his way. They must all be taught a good lesson thought Jakari.

Jakari smirked, “sure.”

The righteous heroes thought Jakari was a complete buffoon and gladly led him to somewhere secluded. It was a dark alleyway with only 1 exit. Jakari was completely blocked in from the group of copper adventurers all itching to teach him a lesson for hurting a beautiful lady.

The copper-ranked trash leader readied his fist and sent it flying towards Jakari’s face. But Jakari blocked it with his free hand and grabbed onto his fist. Jakari squeezed his hand harder and harder, the bones in the trash leader’s hand shattered into a million pieces with his flesh completely disfigured with blood oozing out everywhere, it could no longer be called a hand anymore. He yelled out in extreme agony, “STOP! ARGHHHH! ATTACK HIM!”

The copper-ranked righteous heroes all attacked Jakari from all angles with their weapons and magic. But it was completely futile.

In an instant, all the copper-ranked righteous heroes were all on the ground. Every single piece of bones was broken into a million pieces, their entire bodies were completely misconfigured and you couldn’t recognize them as humans anymore. It happened so fast that all of them haven’t even processed their disastrous loss. The next second, all of them had died a painless death.

Jakari had a deep sigh, “worthless trash.” He only allowed them the first move to judge what kind of strength these copper-ranked adventures were capable of but it was completely trash not worth mentioning. He only intended to fully cripple them but they couldn’t even withstand 0% of his power and succumb to their deaths.

He ran-teleported back into the guildhall to check out the wood-ranked quest bulletin board. He wasn’t going to let anyone stop him from becoming a proper adventurer. There were several other wood-ranked adventurers picking out a quest as well, they didn’t laugh at him earlier and Jakari felt a tiny bit of gratitude towards them. Jakari was struggling to pick a quest as he couldn’t read a single word so he took the closest one and brought it to the guild receptionist without saying a single word but giving her the quest.

“You again?” asked the guild lady. “I told you, you don’t need approval to take a wood-ranked quest, just take one and do it then turn it in… Wait, you can’t read, sorry. This quest is…”
