Jakari tried ignoring the ice-girl trash but it wasn’t working. The trash keep getting in his way even though he wasn’t doing anything to provoke them.
“Get out of my face ugly trash,” warned Jakari. A vein was bulging out from his forehead in annoyance.
The ice-girl was fuming at being called ugly. She believed herself to be supremely beautiful. It doesn’t help that many of the guys here had tried hitting on her in the past. Her self-esteem as a woman was simply too high. A plain-looking guy even dared to call her ugly in front of everyone in the guild. It was too unfathomable for her to accept this humiliation.
Most of the male adventurers were shocked that Jakari would even dare call her ugly. Meanwhile half of the female adventurers were giggling at this scuffling with the other female half feeling anger in their heart as they believed in female solidarity with one another.
Tears were coming out of the ice-girl face and she was about to slap Jakari in the face. Before the slap was even completed, a slime core had made a huge ugly crater between her eyes, bloodying up her face while she fell backward unconscious. A 3rd copper-ranked adventurer was taken down in 1 hit by Jakari without even trying.
The people around them were shocked once again except for the bronze-ranked adventurers and the guild staff as scuffles among adventurers were common.
Jakari crouched down to her ear and said, “next time, stay out of my way you ugly piece of trash.”
He proceeded to step on her unconscious body as the queue was getting shorter. Eventually, he made his way to the front desk reception. It was the same guild lady who had attended to him earlier in the day. She rolled her eyes at him as she saw the pointless slime cores being brought forth by him.
“What can I do with this?” asked Jakari as he took out 27 slime cores.
The ‘nice’ guild lady replied, “We buy them for 0.05 copper coins each so 1.35 copper coins total but we always round down so it will only be 1 copper coin. All monster loot exchanges must be taken to the loot depository section of the guildhall. This section only handles adventurers taking on new quests or finishing their quests. Once again we even made obvious huge posters for you newbies to know where to go. Even if you couldn’t read, you can at least see the pictures right? This better not be your attempt on trying to flirt with me.”
Jakari quickly saw the sign that was pointing at, it was a signboard with a coin and monster core drawing on it with some random scribbling on top of it. Without bothering to respond to the ugly guild receptionist, Jakari made his way to the loot depository section.
The guild receptionist upon sawing Jakari's quick movement away from her made her feel unappreciated. “At least say something! Can’t you at least say ‘thank you!”
The male youngsters' wood-ranked adventurers were amazed at Jakari’s smoothness.
“Woah that guy made Celine flustered.”
“I should learn how to be smooth with women from him.”
“Guys he’s just strong. If we were as strong as him, girls would like us more!”
“Hey guys pretend to be knocked out from my slime cores, I want to impress Celine.”
“Me first!” yelled a 14-yo wood-ranked boy.
The delusional youngsters of the wood-ranked adventurers consisted mostly of 13 to 17-year-old teenagers without any life experiences, all thought Jakari was a very cool guy because he took down 3 copper-ranked adventures in one hit. And many of them had a crush on the 22-year-old pretty guild receptionist Celine who was bronze-ranked which was two tiers higher ranking than them.
They bicker amongst themselves as they all scrambled to flirt with the pretty guild receptionist Celine.
At the monster depository section, Jakari had made 1 copper coin! He held the copper coin in his hand and boasted them in the air in triumph. Jakari was smiling happily as he finally accomplished something as an adventurer! But wait, he wasn’t an adventurer yet. Upon realizing that, he immediately put the copper coin into his pocket. People around him were giving him weird looks for being happy at obtaining one copper coin.
“Why is this idiot so happy at getting 1 copper coin?”
“His family must be so poor that 1 copper coin must be a month’s earning for them.”
“Hahahaha good one! His family could only afford to feed him grass then!”
“Eating grass is enough to let you one-hit copper ranked adventurers. Why hasn’t anyone told me this secret yet.”
“Maybe he’s from an extremely rural area that has no need for coins.”
“His family must have exploited him and took all his earnings. I feel sorry for him.”
“Hey, have you heard? This guy took down 3 copper ranking adventurers in one hit by himself. There is no way he is that poor.”

“So what? Any bronze-ranked adventurer can defeat any copper-ranked adventures in one hit as well.”
“He’s not even an adventurer yet and he only came to register today!”
“Huh maybe he’s pretending to be humble and he probably did train before becoming an adventurer.”
“What if he came from a super-rich family or trained by an elite family and is only pretending to be weak and poor!”
Even though Jakari was ignoring everyone around him, it wasn’t working. He was steadily gaining more and more attention from the other adventurers. Fans and haters for Jakari grew with every interaction he had with the other adventurers.
Not knowing what to do with the copper coin he returned to the front reception desk queue for a 3rd time today. Even though the queue consists of only one line that leads to 10 different guild receptionists. Jakari managed to get served by the same receptionist for the 3rd time.
Celine no longer cared about her past mistreatment by Jakari as she quickly realized that he was one of those types of adventurers that were apathetic to everything. She thought Jakari was purposely trying to flirt with her with his clueless antic ploy like what the other young snappers are doing but realized that he was genuinely clueless.
As Celine saw Jakari bring out his copper coin, she knew this young man was absolutely clueless about how things work and was starting to feel sorry for him.
“What can I do with this copper coin?” asked Jakari with zero sense of shame as the others in the background were snickering at his idiocy.
“Well, where do I start? You don’t know anything about adventuring right?” asked Celine in a caring tone, unlike the past two times she dealt with him. The young snappers were in deep amazement that Jakari could seduce Celine so easily since she was being truly nice to him now. They all wanted to copy him!
Jakari nodded his head to affirm a yes. The other guild receptionists saw and knew that Celine was going to do her 1-hour pointless drivel talk on him. It was her way of ignoring what the young snappers had to say to her by talking over them non-stop and most of them would give up after 5 to 10 minutes. The young snappers feared that their great master Jakari wouldn’t be able to survive Celine’s non-stop dialogue attack!
“It’s not proper of me to spend a long time explaining to you about what being an adventurer is as I have many other adventurers to deal with so let me give you the short version. Adventurers are people who take on quests in exchange for money and fame. They risk their lives battling monsters, exploring dungeons and sometimes handling civil affairs. It can be an extremely dangerous life battling monsters or an easy-going life if you only handle civil quests. Adventurers have a power ranking system to ensure people don’t take on quests too difficult for them. Everyone starts out at wood rank…” explained Celine as she kept on going and going.
A vein was bulging on Jakari’s forehead. Then another vein bulged and another. As Celine kept giving her useless drivel about being an adventurer instead of answering what he could do with his 1 copper coin, Jakari was getting ready to tell that trash to shut up and answer his question already.
Fortunately, Celine concluded her pointless monologue, “You can use your 1 copper coin to buy 1 piece of toast at the bakery, that's probably the only thing you could buy with it.”
“Ok,” answered Jakari as he quickly left the guildhall.
Celine eyed him with great interest as he left the guildhall. All the young snappers and idiot males would often give up early. Jakari had shown her great patience, a quality not found in any of the male adventurers as they all wanted to get in her pants as soon as possible. The next time Jakari meets up with the guild receptionist Celine, she would accept going on a date with him if he asked.
Unfortunately, all the young snappers didn’t bother to watch Jakari receive Celine’s non-stop dialogue attack as it was extremely boring to them so none of them even knew of the outcome of this ‘lesson’.
Outside of the guildhall, Jakari quickly regained his composure and then recalled the true meaning of being an adventurer from his family.
Jakari’s father, “I have nothing to say to you about being an adventurer. It’s not worth it.”
Jakari’s mother, “ahhhhhhhhhnnnnnnn my cutest son wants to be an adventurer! Please become a strong adventurer so you can get yourself the most beautiful wife! Ignore your father.”
Jakari’s older sister, “An adventurer is someone who takes great care of their beauty! Only the most beautiful can become the strongest adventurer!”
Jakari’s younger sister, “adventurers give flowers to monsters!”
Jakari realized those weren’t the true description of being an adventurer! They were his family delusions of what being an adventurer was about! He was only 10 years old when he asked each of them what an adventurer was! His older sister was 14 while his younger sister was 6 back then. The reason why he became an adventurer was to ascertain the true meaning of what an adventurer was! Perhaps that guild receptionist guild-girl wasn’t trash at all. Due to his family never letting Jakari interact with any outsiders but his direct family members, his family’s indoctrination had misguided him into getting angry at the nice guild receptionist half trash.
As Jakari walked across the road, he didn’t even know where the bakery was or what even was a bakery! But he did know what was toast at least.
He was about to turn back to the guildhall to queue up for the 4th time but was stopped by a group of 5 bronze-ranked adventurers.
“So you’re the little snagger who hurt my little sister huh?” growled the fierce-looking man in black armor with a black sword. Beside him was the ice-girl trash that he K-O earlier in the day. Her face was still ugly and ruined.
“That’s him! Big brother! He is the one who bullied me and my party members for no reason!” cried the ice-girl trash.
The 5 bronze-ranked adventurers had surrounded Jakari, preventing his escape. Onlookers were starting to gather to see this sad beatdown before a guild officer would come to stop the fight.
“Consider it your lucky day! I was supposed to leave Lyonhall today but I only stay this long for my little sister. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. You give us all your money and let me punch you in the face 5 times or you dare fight the 5 of us bronze-ranked adventurers while you’re non-ranked nobody!”
