I took my first step outside, breathing the crude smell of rust and iron.
The streets bustling with people, with shops of varying reasons sitting next to each other.
Once every few people, some could be seen wearing armor and weapons, be it daggers or swords or greatswords, it is all there.
While passing by the inn, I could see a large, burly man throw out a customer from inside, falling helplessly on his back.
His friends got out to him, swearing to take vengeance on the inn keeper.
But… I doubt that they will succeed.
Using ‘Inspect’ on the keeper and the people thrown out, the level difference is too large.
The group are at level 20 max, while the keeper is at level 56, proving that he has more experience.
Still, nothing is set in stone.
I defeated two assassins that were more than 40 levels above me, so who knows.
While walking, my mind kept having thoughts about the opportunities.
Due to my absent minded strolling, I bumped into a tall man with an incredibly pointy chin.
Funnily enough, the one that fell wasn’t me, it was him.
I made a silent laugh in my mind as I stretched out my hand to help him.
“You okay?”
“Am I okay? What, are you blind? Of course I’m not, it felt as if I crashed into a golem.. Ugh..”
“Sorry ‘bout that..”
He gave me his hand and I pulled him, making him stand almost immediately, which results in him stumbling.
Now that I look at him closely, his ears are long and pointy, reminding me of elves.
Now that I think about it, the books said that the relationship between humans and elves are not so good, for various reasons.
For one, their habitat is the forest, which we frequently cut down to use for whatever, thus chasing them out of their homes.
I tried to talk to him, but I didn’t notice that he left while I was standing, thinking.
Oops, I need to fix this habit.
Actually, why isn’t WIS working, I should be thinking 10 times faster right now.
Ugh..
I start walking again, going to nowhere.
Until I reached it.
The glorious, Adventurers Guild (According to the books).
Just about to step inside, and the world is enveloped in darkness..
..
WHY!
I thought I was in control now…
-Sorry, you are not.
What?
I heard a voice inside my head, and tried to contact it with no avail.
I gave up sooner or later, and finally, the light started came into view.
““Oooh!””
Many shouts could be heard as I made up the outlines.
Although there was light, it was only in the middle, in the shape of a candle.
People wearing black cloaks were cheering as 3 people, seemingly the organizers, surrounded me while holding wooden staffs with a skull on top, and a red orb inside of the mouth.
It was the same for the 3 people, but now I’m questioning the summoners.
As if an answer to my thoughts, the one in the middle answered.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“We, with our sacrifices, have been able to resurrect the God of Blood, Fivori! All bow to our lord.”
What…
I’m not..
Suddenly, the darkness came back, inviting me to leave this terrible place, which I accepted gracefully.
This time, I’m back in the forest.
Just as I surveyed my surroundings, the rabbit came to me with its children, making me lay on the ground and pet them.
Ahh… Sweet fur..
-Ding!
“World Travel has been locked.”
...Why..
Actually, I’m fine…
I could stay here for a while.
But once again, the darkness enveloped me, and took me away from my blessings.
Nooooooo…
Ugh, this is annoying.
I float in the endless darkness, with my brows twitching.
And finally, the world I’m in is..
Dila.
Right now I’m in front of the guild once again.
But I have something to worry about.
I opened my abilities to see what happened to the World Travel.
Unlike the other abilities, which were white, this one was grayed out.
I tried to see why, but the only thing it said was.
“Class Required : Intermediate World Traveller”
I tried to see how to get to intermediate, to find out that I need to reach level 1000.
Even with my easy access to leveling up, this might take a while.
Or so I thought, at least.
Making a big sigh, I enter the guild, and go towards the reception.
I could feel numerous gazes on my back, but I ignore them.
A beautiful looking man - what? Did you expect a lady?- greets me with a bright smile.
“Hello and welcome to the Adventurers guild, how may I help you?”
“I would like to register.”
“Of course..”
He picks up a card from under his desk, then hands me it.
“Please channel your mana into it, if not, we will have to ask for a drop of your blood.”
“No need..”
While I was channeling the mana, I thought.
‘Why isn’t anyone commenting about me being too young?’
Pushing that thought aside for now, I could see the once grey card now become purple.
I hand him the card, and he fiddles out with some tool before handing it back to me.
“Need an explanation about how it works?”
“Yes.”
Then, he proceeds to explain the basic knowledge.
There are 9 ranks, F>E>D>C>B>A>S>SS>SSS.
Doing requests and defeating powerful monsters increase your rank, depending on the difficulty.
Ranks from F to C are able to do requests one rank higher than them, while B to SSS can only do requests according to their ranks.
Currently, there are only 3 people who achieved the rank SSS, while those in SS are dreaming.
Of course, reaching even A rank is no joke, so how will it be to reach the S’s?
And… that was the end of the explanation.
With that, I picked up a basic ‘Gather Herbs’ request, registered it, and went on my merry way.
Until a macho man appeared in front of me.
Why do I see lots of big men around here, cut me some slack.
Everyone made a way for him, but like the arrogant me, I just kept going.
Everyone looked at me with eyes of pity, as if I just willingly buried myself alive.
I moved out of his way, but he went in front of me, and started releasing some bloodlust.
Actually, that is a huge understatement.
The ‘some’ was able to knock off some people from the sides unconscious, while others had their minds shut down.
Man, they are weak.
“‘Scuse me…”
This time, rather than walking, I quickly went behind him, then went on my way.
However, what the others had seen was as if I teleported behind him.
On the other hand, that seemed to further agitate him.
“You… I challenge you to a duel!”
-Ding!
“The SS ranked, Grovan the Iron Fist, has challenged you a duel. Do you accept? Y/N”
Oh boy.. another battle junkie.
…
Since he is annoying me, I decided to do something that he couldn’t have thought of.
Ignore, and walk.
If I don’t give an answer, he can’t touch me, and he will still get angrier, a win situation for me.
He stood there, waiting for a reply as if I was going to suddenly turn around and say “Let’s do this outside.”
Sadly for him though, I just left, doing nothing.
Once he realized my intentions, he gave an intimidating warcry, releasing his bloodlust to the max.
However, due to Void Mind and WIL stat, I was able to resist it as if it were an ant trying to break through an indestructible fortress.
Thankfully, he didn’t chase after me, and I was able to gather my herbs in peace.
Which brought on another problem.
The few hours I was out of town, posters upon posters of my face with a 100 gold bounty on my head, and the crime is…
Angering Grovan.
Unable to hold it any longer, I laugh out loud like a madman, and every time I stop, just a glance at the paper would get me laughing even louder.
Ahh...
I can’t believe it was actually Grovan who was the one who requested it.
Maybe the king, I thought, since I slaughtered his entire royal guards.
Hah..
Alright then, let us see how long I could last before someone tries to capture me.
“Hey, isn’t this guy the same person as in the poster?”
“Oh, you are right..”
Me and my loud thoughts.
“You, come with us to the guards if you do not want to get hurt.”
I facepalmed.
I wanted to ask them if a person would actually follow them with that intimidating attitude, but luckily, others started to argue with them on who saw me first and will take me to claim the rewards.
Under the fighting, I activated ‘Sneak’, and got out of sight.
I don’t really care if I’m captured, but all I want right now is to finish my request and possibly get a disguise.
With that, I trotted to the guild, not looking behind at the bloodbath started with one simple argument..
