=====Chapter 28=====
“You could speak!?”
“No, master, only after I had reached level 500 did I gain such an ability.”
I stared at him, flabbergasted, but was soon woken up by the the desert warrior, Bamus.
His eyelids slowly opened, revealing a honey-brown colour, which soon started moving over from Bob to me.
“Who are you?”
He asked, with a careful tone.
Obviously due to the fact that I wore an expensive looking outfit, coupled with my attitude, he must have thought I was a noble.
The rotten kind.
“I’m Archillies Duane, Bob’s master.”
His eyes opened as wide as possible, then quickly glanced around from me to Bob.
“Is… Is that true?”
Wordlessly, Bob nodded to him.
Looking annoyed, he sat up, and stared daggers at me.
Under his breath, I heard him mutter, “Filthy nobles and their slavery, tsk.”
My poker face didn’t break, yet I wanted to retort “I’m not a noble, ya’know?”
Holding back my urges, I broke eye contact then sighed.
“What do you want?”
“Release Bob, he should not be under someone like you.”
Uncontrollably, the corner of my mouth twitched, then I glanced at Bob.
“Do you wish to be freed?”
“Never have I thought of such an idea.” He replied without the tiniest bit of hesitance.
“And there you have it.”
A dirty smirk was formed on my face, while I stared back at Bamus.
He frowned, then darted up from his seat.
“I challenge you to a duel! If I win, Bob is freed.”
I looked at him in surprise, then couldn’t hold myself anymore.
“Bwahahahaha.”
It was his turn to be surprised, since I started laughing out of nowhere.
“Y-you really think I’m a noble? Ahahahaha..”
His mouth twitched, with a hint of annoyance in his eyes.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
“Then what are you? No person could have such a strong slave or guard except nobles.”
“Pffft… do you even see a slave collar around here, or even an insignia resembling my nobility, no… you just had to jump to conclusions..”
“...”
He got quiet as I quizzatiously told him the truth.
“Then why was he calling you ‘Master’?”
A victory grin was plastered on his face, as if he expect me not to answer him back.
“He is my summon.”
“.... I see… then I have a request.”
After mistreating me he wants to request?
“Go ahead.”
“Please let me be taught under Master Bob’s guidance.”
Bob's indifferent expression changed to shock, and mine as well.
Not knowing what to do, I decided to shamelessly move on the responsibility to someone else.
“Bob, what is your answer?”
“....”
He stared at the ground for a while, as if he was thinking deeply.
“But, I don’t use the twin scimitars?”
He replied to Bamus.
Bamus winced at the sudden revelation, but then regained back his calm.
“I shall switch to the greataxe, please.”
“Hmm..”
Bob started stroking his non-existent beard, while thinking with a deep voice coming out.
“As long as Master doesn’t mind.” was his statement.
Bamus looked at me with sparkling eyes, so I just shrugged.
“Have it your way, however, Bob will take care of you, and only him.”
“Thank you.”
He said, while bowing.
In this world, bowing is a custom just like in Japan, however, I do not have deep knowledge, so all I could do is guess where the rest of the traditions came from.
I looked behind me at Rain, who was somehow able to snatch Inka away from me and is now petting it.
“Let us go?”
“Sure.”
Walking away, Bob stayed behind for a minute as he gathered his bet.
As for Bamus, he was stalking Bob the whole time, yet Bob didn’t care, so I left it at that.
Out of the arena we went, and where to next? I wondered.
Then it struck me… we never ate at a resturant in this world before, so why not try it.
Inns and taverns sure make food, but restaurants specialize in taste more than filling.
After strolling around and gathering some attention from Bob’s looks, which seem to have been enhanced to suit his deep voice, we found a good looking place to dine in.
Slowly pushing the door, a ring from the bell atop the door was made, allowing the waitress to notice us.
Surprisingly, she was wearing modern-like waitress clothes, in black and white.
The restaurant wasn’t too crowded or empty, giving it a good atmosphere which can only be found on such occasions.
Finding a table for 4, we sat around it with Rain and I on one side, and Bob and Bamus on the other.
Each one of us took hold of the menus, then started picking.
Out of curiousity, I asked Rain what she picked.
“Frostus Milk and a number 12.”
I should have guessed, since I had picked the same meals, so I directed my question towards Bob and Bamus, who seemed to be pestering his ‘Master’ with what foods to eat and such.
But Archillies, can Phantasmal Bodies even eat?
While yes, they do NOT need to eat, they could do it, and give feedback as well, which resulted in me imagining a mad alchemist feeding his summons such as Phantasmal Bodies, which could not die, many strange drinks and the like.
Anyhow, we rang the bell and the waitress nimbly moved towards us while holding a menu just like ours.
“What will be your orders?”
We all started listing our orders, and before she left, I added pet food to the list.
Since it will take time before the meals are ready, I opened my status menu, and stared at my level.
749, huh.
With 65220 from before, I added the 24246 to finally reach 89466, then I used the
17960 stat points (40*449) to break through the 100000 stat mark, achieving the total of 149332 average per stat.
-Ding!
“Due to LUK+ surpassing 100,000 , the ability ‘Absolute Luck’ has upgraded into ‘Luck Manipulation’.”
-Ding!
“Requirements for evolution has been unlocked, do you wish to evolve into a ‘High Human(low)’. Y/N”
In all honesty, I’m unsure whether evolving right now would put me unconscious or not, so I will hold off for now.
For one reason or another, ever since I went past the 50 thousand mark, my body stopped being remade, as if it had already reached its optimum shape.
As for ‘Luck Manipulation’, I have mixed feelings about it, since luck could have many forms, which may only be advantageous to me, but harmful to others.
For example, let us say that a sure-kill technique is coming at me, and I’m standing next to an innocent person, then what would be lucky for me?
Either passing on the empty side, or hitting the poor man, but surely, I have no control over that.
If used incorrectly, then luck will not only endanger my enemies, but my allies as well, being a double-edged sword.
..Unless I’m in a completely secluded place, then I might find some hidden treasures, but who knows..
The waitress comes back without slipping off any of the meal, and places each plate from the tray onto the table, and finally, placing the pet bowl onto the ground, which made Rain let go of Inka to start eating.
Ignoring my current thoughts, I joined everyone on the table, who already started wolfing down their food.
