Chapter 21

5 Days later, we have reached Juvaila.

Once we got there, we were greeted with both the sea and tons of markets.

Not to mention that we could see many different races, unlike in the capital.

The reason is mostly since there is rarely any discrimination, be it from royalty or commoners.

With the Bodies following us like bodyguards, it felt weird, so I instructed them to go and do whatever they want, in moderation.

Now the group has become me, Rain, inka and Dean.

Dean is getting glances from various females around, but he doesn’t seem fazed by it.

That is only on the outside, but on the inside, I could feel his emotions dance around.

Ignoring the guy, we went ahead to look for a place to stay for a few days.

And, the first one we saw was..

A good looking inn, possibly too good looking for it to be in our budget.

We tried to pass it, but the other inn we saw was inhabited by soldiers.

Why they are here is not for me to know, so we were forced to go to the good-looking inn.

In the meantime, Rain was excited at every new thing, while I was too, but my poker face held it in.

She went around, looking at all the clothing shops, while I did so too, for reference.

We also checked accessories and the like, but nothing was really impossible for me to make.

Plus, I saw many terrible works branded as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Perfect’, even the System says so, but if a person carefully inspected them, they would realize that it could have been even better.

“I want this pendant!”

She said, pointing at an ‘Above Average’ pendant made of silver, with a dragon engraved on it, and embedded with a dark, blue gem in the shape of a teardrop.

I looked closer at it, and I saw that it was made even better than the higher ranked ones, plus it is cheaper.

The gem was of high quality, but the pendant was not enchanted well, thus explaining why it only has ‘Above Average’ quality.

“Alright, I’ll buy it, how much does it cost?”

“3 golds.”

“....”

Haha, of course even the least enchanted objects are expensive.

I held back my refusal since she has such an eager expression.

Using my new ability gained from many books, ‘Haggle’, I went over to merchant and was able to lower it down to 1 gold.

Don’t ask how, trade secret.

Anyhow, after we got outside, I told her to give me the pendant later so I could re-enchant it.

“You know, you have really good eyes for objects like these.”

“What do you mean?”

“The pendant itself is incredibly well-made, more so than the more expensive ones.”

“But, that doesn’t explain why it was considered as low quality?”

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“The System is to blame, but I could fix that problem.”

“Hm?”

“The enchantments on it are terrible, so let me have it later so I could fix that.”

“Alright.”

I sighed, but then out of the blue, she wrapped herself around my arm.

The sleeping Inka on my head woke up from the sudden shaking, to see the now clinging on me Rain, while Dean gave me glares.

I gave him an even sharper glare, making him straighten himself.

Thinking about it, is that how men feel when they buy an expensive present to their loves?

Most likely, yep.

With that, we walked back to the inn, with Rain giving no care to any other shops.

We opened the wooden double door, to be greeted with a fancy reception.

Brown walls decorated with various paintings inside a golden frame, which in of itself is carved with absolute delicacy.

We walked towards the receptionist, with Rain still clinging to my arm.

“Hello, I’d like two roo-”

“One room!”

Before I could finish my sentence, Rain interrupted me.

The receptionist, who seemed to be a beastwoman with brown hair, gave us a small smile.

“Of course, 10 silvers per day, is that fine with you?”

I nearly tensed up, until I remembered that there is an Adventurer’s Guild in this city, so I just accepted.

Somehow, the receptionist never asked about Dean, making me know that she was someone with knowledge.

“I’d like 4 days.”

“Of course, that will be 40 silvers.”

I hand her a gold coin, and wait until she fishes out the 60 remaining silvers plus the key.

After she gives me the items, she opens her mouth.

“Alright, sir, please follow me to your room.”

She comes from behind the reception and urges me to follow her.

Since Dean doesn’t do anything, I told him to go outside and do whatever he wants.

His face brightened up when I said ‘Whatever’, but then it turned into a dirty grin, and then to one of sudden realization.

He turned down my offer with a sullen face, so I just let him accompany us.

We entered our room, numbered 12, to find that it was decorated like the reception.

Once we got inside, she bowed and asked if we needed food or anything, which we replied with no, then she left.

Looking at the room once again, I found that there is a separate bathroom for the room, making me not regret paying the 40 silvers.

Since the day is still young, I decided to go and register Rain as an adventurer, then find a good job to earn money.

We left the room, and I put the key inside my ‘Pocket Dimension’ after locking the door.

Since I’m new to the city, I went to the receptionist and asked her for instructions, then left after giving her a tip.

Just before I got outside the door, a man clad in armor came through.

I used ‘Predator’s Eyes’ just as I saw him, to find many others waiting behind the door.

Sighing, I turned it off, then took a glance at the man who seems to be the ‘Leader’.

With a somewhat large stature, a rough face and short, black hair, his eyes had the look of ‘Looking down on you’ type of vibe.

To avoid having a fight with him, I tried to rush outside the door, but 3 of the soldiers outside blocked the door.

“Uh… Could you let us pass?”

“....”

I asked them, but there was no reply.

Holding back my irritation, I take out my Adventurer’s card and show it to them.

Once they see it, they stiffen up, and slowly make way.

That is, until the leader noticed what is happening, and decided to stop talking with the receptionist to see what’s up.

“You three, I told you to not allow anyone to enter or leave, haven’t I made that clear?”

“But sir, we do not want to annoy an SS rank.”

“Huh? What are you talking about?”

I tried to leave quickly, but I was too late.

“This boy.” The one on the right pointed at me.

“Hahahaha, a little boy like him being SS? Don’t joke with me.” He laughed loudly, while the soldiers started shaking.

He ignored them, then proceeded to continue his talk with the receptionist.

“Now then, as I was saying, the king orders that you give us all of the rooms, and you will be compensated properly.”

“I’m incredibly sorry, but all of the rooms are taken at the moment.”

“Well clear them! And if you don’t believe me, here is the king’s signature.”

He takes out a scroll, with the king’s signature on it.

I memorize it using an ability called ‘Third Eye’, which allows me to create an invisible eye which I could use to look from impossible angles and places.

The soldiers started shaking more, but then I assured them that I won’t blame them for what is happening.

Using Air Manipulation, I did a chop on his neck, making him fall unconscious.

“What, are you going to stand there while your commander is unconscious?”

They gave me a brief smile, then went towards their commander.

To be honest, when he tried to make her clear the rooms, I wanted to pounce at him with my scythes in both hands, but I held it.

Making use of the opportunity, I sped out, with Rain still latching on my arm ever since I got her that pendant.

Actually, I think it has become numb now.

Oh well, it isn’t like I get to have a cute woman cling to me every day of my life, no?

With that thought in mind, I headed towards the adventurer’s guild, giving no heed to the people staring on us on the way.
