The closer we got to the village the more I realized. If I turned slightly to the right, I would end up under the fort. Actually, I could make a space here. Dig a tunnel to both the village and fort. Kill both and collect their soul and blood.
My eyes were glowing with greed. The quality of souls I would be able to grasp would be enough to make a few special cards. Eliminating some of my weaknesses.
I transformed the dirt around us into a dome shape hideout. Cutting out circular rooms for my burdens.
“We will rest here.” I said, gesturing at the rooms that appeared with movable doors.
The nobles quickly went to pick out their rooms. Not even saying thank you.
I picked out my own, setting it up. A bed, bath tub, and a work table. I only used up two mana pearls. So I began digging a tunnel from my room to the fort first. It was the most challenging one. Plus if I was busted right off the bat, I could just fill my needs with the village. I doubt they had any high level warriors on standby.
I glanced up halfway to the fort and realized that the watcher was following me. I slowed down upon breaching the walls of the fort, aiming for a house in the middle of the fort. A double bedroom house with excellent sturdy walls.
I sat down beneath the bedroom bed.
Taking out cold food and nice fruit wine. Snacking to recover my mana and resting my mind. Mental energy was just as important as mana. Without adequate rest periods, casting mana for a long time might leave your mind blurry and unfocused.
The family upstairs moved around a lot. Two adorable little kids, a beautiful red skin demoness and a lad in black-reddish armor that chase them around. Laughing and playing. It was like a picturisitic moment.
They played with their father for hours on end. Finally settling down to eat before washing up and going to bed. The demon climbed out of his armor. Putting it all up on a skeleton mannequin. The woman had come out in nothing but a towel. She was a seven with that type of body.
Full breast that defied heavens’ mandate. Lush ass that the man grabbed a full handful of. It seemed that he would enjoy such a succulent dessert right after a hearty meal. What a lucky bastard.

I waited until he dropped her onto the bed. Slide in between her legs, working up a pace. To transform into a wraith and glide through the ground, coming out behind him. My form solidified as I leaned over with a sword in hand.
The woman’s eyes opened wide with fear. Her fingers tighten on the man's shoulders, mouth opened to scream but my blade came down. Penetrating them through the chest but I wasn’t positive if I hit the lady’s heart as well. I stabbed a few more times as the man struggled to rise up. His feelings to protect were strong but my sword was thirsty.
I took out a card from my card holder. The card glowed a dark green as a suction applied to the demon's souls. I watched as wisps flowed out of their bodies but then it evaporated like it wasn’t even there to begin with.
This baffled me.
I glanced at the watcher. So this is an illusion? What a let down.
Laughing to myself, I snuck to the kids room. Silencing them before moving on.
I made it out of the house and looked around the streets. Demons lottier around but they did so in the front of certain houses. I walked back in and sank under the ground. Gliding towards an allied that and placed an enchanted explosive. I did this until I covered the majority of the fort residential area before heading to take a look at the large stone castle.
I took a sip of wine laced with mana while watching guards’ patrolling routine. I was enjoying the peace when I heard footsteps nearby. I was sitting on a roof that was almost blocked by another. It would be hard for someone in front of me to spot me. Behind me? The roof was slanted upward. I was sitting at the lowest point.
As for someone across the street seeing me, that was possible but I didn’t see anyone hanging around the visible parts.
So when they walked into the alley and looked up, I was dumbfounded. I stared down at them and they stared up at me. They tossed a bag a few feet from them and a few explosives rolled out. Considering I planted more than three hundred of them and they only had less than ten in the bag.
It wasn’t a huge problem. Plans never go according to precise ideas.
“Why don’t you come down? ” a gruff demon spoke.
His black armor glinted in the morning light. I glanced back at the castle. No movement.
Clicking my tongue, a card turned to embers.
The explosives went off.
I formed a fire barrier around me.
I hadn't planned on activating them so soon. They were my getaway plan but I guess I could run away now. They would surely kill more than forty demons. If not, I would just massacre the village.
