Lily and Amaya help a party of adventures who need a hand clearing a B-rank dungeon. During the boss fight against the powerful Abyssal Knight, Lily and the rest of the party are left near death, unable to fight. This leaves Amaya being the only one left standing. After a hard-fought fight, and a conversation with death himself, she finally defeats the Abyssal Knight, saving the lives of everyone. Because of this, she grows stronger, both emotionally and physically.
The next morning, Amaya and Katsu travel by wagon to a village, destroyed by a monster attack. It's a scene of tragedy, the dirt stained with both tears and blood. People of the village crying over the loss of their loved one. This ignited a burning hatred inside of Katsu, reminding him of the reason he had dedicated his life to slaying monsters.
