Amaya awakes in this strange new world, thinking it's a dream. She decides to explore it and ends up near-death, almost being killed by a demon. Soon after, she saves a lost child from a bear. The child's name is Emi, who Amaya ends up taking care of.

Amaya struggles to cope with her trauma from this new world and faces many internal struggles and is eventually visited by a Goddess, giving her a quest to prevent the end of the world.

Meeting a new friend named Katsu, Amaya forms a party and joins him on his quest to find the Shadow Orc. Their quest brings them to the capitol of Therngo, where they meet a new friend. A girl named Lily who allows them to stay at her mansion.

Time and time again, ever since Amaya had come to this world, she happens to find herself in the face of death, over and over. And each time she has to be saved. This fact stays on her mind, haunting her, causing her to feel helpless

Lily and Amaya help a party of adventures who need a hand clearing a B-rank dungeon. During the boss fight against the powerful Abyssal Knight, Lily and the rest of the party are left near death, unable to fight. This leaves Amaya being the only one left standing. After a hard-fought fight, and a conversation with death himself, she finally defeats the Abyssal Knight, saving the lives of everyone. Because of this, she grows stronger, both emotionally and physically.

The next morning, Amaya and Katsu travel by wagon to a village, destroyed by a monster attack. It's a scene of tragedy, the dirt stained with both tears and blood. People of the village crying over the loss of their loved one. This ignited a burning hatred inside of Katsu, reminding him of the reason he had dedicated his life to slaying monsters.
