Chapter 46: Epic showdown

Jorah pulled the sword. The relic began shaking violently, with dust falling from the ceiling and the void cracking with dark energy.

The chains crashed against each other as if they were alive. Suddenly, from underneath the bridge, dark shadows began shooting up and converging around Jorah.

His eyes slowly shifted to red. He waved his hand, trying to drive the shadows away, but to no avail. Thunder crackled, and his body shifted as dark lines drew themselves originating from the sword and covering his whole body.

His eyes were abyss dark; his face had returned to normal. His body was even more well-traced, with compact abdominal muscles.

His fire-red threads seemed to have been breathed back to life, shining with a dark red luster.

"It feels so good," his voice echoed. With a step, he crushed the distance, appearing before Kinty. "You...we haven't finished," he said, slamming his body to the ground.

His eyes fell on Amarok and Silvia. Silvia tried to move but could barely move her body; she had lost so much blood that her face was pale.

As he was about to finish them, Amarok's body finally moved. Jorah stared in disdain. "You want to die. You Will have to wait your turn," Jorah said with a hint of mockery, thinking Amarok had lost his mind earlier, maybe even turned into a moron.

"With this power, no relic will be able to stop me," Jorah's smile grew. Amarok stepped once more; his body moved like a walking dead, head down, shoulders falling downward.

Jorah frowned. "Die," he said. With a single hand, he drew a dark red rune, and the threads burned with dark red fire. This time it was even more terrifying – Pyrocoil cobra circled around them. The void trembled under the mighty rune. That was the new rune he had earned – Ardent Pyrocoil.

Whoosh. The Ardent Pyrocoil shot through the void, unstoppable. Amarok tilted his head, evading the strike, and the walls behind him split open upon contact with the Ardent Pyrocoil.

Jorah was dumbfounded. "Stop already and die," he went all out. The Ardent Pyrocoil bolted forward, and the void burned and cried under their might.

Amarok stepped forward; his body bloomed with white energy. The First Order mode appeared, his eyes as deep as the cosmos. He tilted his head, avoiding the Ardent Pyrocoil, bolting forward. He slid, allowing others to whistle above him, then flipped in mid-air, descending with his talon.

Jorah was baffled, raised his hands to block. A cracking sound could be heard upon impact, and Jorah's raised hand was forced down, the foot landing on his shoulder.

The bridge crumbled completely, and both their figures began falling amidst the debris. Jorah spat a mouthful of blood, arching his body to propel himself up on the broken rocks. His sword slashed, sending Amarok blown away, piercing through the relic back to the surface in the coral labyrinth. Jorah stepped in midair as a rune bloomed underneath, propelling upward. A violent winds oriole swept through, catching Amarok by the collar. He flung his body with all of his might.

Amarok's body shot like a cannonball, rolling and smashing onto the bedrock with violence. His body flipped up, sliding back as he faced Jorah and pulled back the dark thread.

Jorah was baffled; his body was shot into Amarok's direction. Before he could react, Amarok armed his punch. Concentrated rings of energy circled and connected into one.

Another cracking sound could be heard as Jorah anchored into the bedrock, fissures all over the Abyss ring, sending huge chunks of rock flying like birds in the air.

Jorah's body shifted, his twisted face instantly returning to normal. He slashed out, and Amarok jumped back, evading the lightning-fast strike.

"No, impossible! I can't lose!" Jorah cried out. His body shone with even more energy, and he hammered the ground with his palms.

A huge rune covered the entire Abyss ring. "I refuse to lose!" he cried out. Abyss Volcan. The rune shone brightly.

Amarok jumped to the side, a blazing geyser rising in his previous spot. His entire left sleeve was burned despite being far away. He kept evading, but the fire appeared everywhere, and his body was sent flying, shooting upward towards the light at the center of the coral labyrinth.

Above ground, everyone was baffled when they saw a figure covered in smoke flash through the water at a distance. The entire town was shaken, with everyone rushing to the borders to witness what was happening.

Mist's face darkened. She could see the figure, but she knew something had happened. At the same time, three figures burst out of the water in bubbles.

The crowd cried in shock. Silvia was bleeding furiously and unconscious. Kinty had a broken arm, and his entire body was burnt. Worst of all, Lyra's body was already cold, her face pale.

"What happened?" Midrel asked in shock. She waved her hand; a rune bloomed in the void, casting a radiant light on the three figures. Her face turned serious, assessing the gravity of their wounds.

"Bring them to the Grand Archia now," Midrel said. Then she rushed forward, and the celestial guardians all acted like robots, chasing behind.

Jorah burst out of the water, sending a giant column into the air. Amarok's body flew and landed on the water, making a ricochet like a stone.

Jorah charged forward, his body covered in dark flames. His sword was burning with power; he was like surfing on dark fire, charging towards Amarok.

Immediately at that moment, a series of black-winged eagles whistled out, and powerful fire runes rained down. Jorah stared at the celestial guardians with a mocking smile. He glided on his black flames, slicing out, and a dark fire line swept out. At that time, a dazzling radiant light shot from behind, colliding, and the impact sent the black-winged eagles in disarray. "Retreat. He is at the level of a rune warrior Smith with that weapon," Aetherial Midrel said. The celestial guardians' hearts trembled; that meant he was as strong as the Alden city Lord.
